While turning into the bank parking lot at 10mph the car just stalled. i was unable to brake or steer out the way. when gas gauge reads empty i am unable to fill the tank with gas as it begins to spill back out. gas gauge reads 1/2 full when it is really empty? miles to empty sensor incorrect therefore i have no idea when i need gas. driver side exterior headlamp seems dimmer than the other lamp. after repairing the entire front end(suspension) still sounds like the front end is going to fall apart when driving on ohio roads. felt it was necessary to document as i do not feel safe in this car. *tr

I have previously reported a problem with the 2005 chrysler pacifica stalling when turning. the problem has progressively worsened. this month alone, (december 2011) the car has stalled 5 times. i am afraid to drive the car for fear that i will crash when it stalls. there are so many chrysler pacifica owners that are reporting the same problem. along with the stalling issue, the gas pedal sticks and needs to be pushed rather hard. a third problem i have encountered this year is the headlamps burning out. i have replaced the front left headlamp three this year. i am familiar with the handling instructions for headlamps. i am greatly distressed by these problems, especially the stalling. i have children that i drive around in this car. please do something about chrysler's failure to fix this problem.

Headlight bulbs keep burning out. at least 6 times since 2007. the first time both lamps were replaced even though only one had gone out, the rest of the times they were replace individually and every time sylvania bulbs were used. i feel this constitutes a safety problem and not normal maintenance. also the drivers door lock mechanism broke in dec. 2009 where the door would not latch close and had to be tied shut the take it for repair. i feel this is also a serious safety failure. *tr

2005 chrysler pacifica. right headlight will quit with no warning, then will come back on its own accord. dealer checked for previous reports of problem and found none. mechanic said the harness comes loose and must be reseated. no easy task since it is under the breather tube and difficult to get to. also, left rear turn signal will quit working then come back on. wiring harness seems to be intact so other option would be bulbs (2). however, if they are bad, why does the signal restore itself? dealer had no answer for that mystery either. problem started mid-summer 2008 and has continued intermittently ever since. *tr

My 2005 chrysler pacifica has a defective headlight harness but is not covered under the recall because of the vin #. i contacted chrysler but they said oh well, take to dealership and pay for the repairs. i only get 7volts of power to the left headlight and the right i have 10.5volts- barely enough to light the right headlight. even though my vin # is not on the list to be recalled, it appears chrysler did not fix this problem in the later vin # pacifica's. chrysler needs to fess up that this is an engineering snapfu that is dangerous to us since the headlight will only fail, and that is at night when safety is a big issue. *tr

I currently have a 2005 chrysler pacifica touring fwd that was purchased on june 28,2008. since the time of purchase i have had to replace my driver's side headlight bulb 3 times. i have placed a call to the dealer i purchased the car from and also chrysler's customer service. they tell me that my vin number does not appear on any recalls that they have. i however, do not understand and have never had a vehicle that has needed a headlight replaced those many times in one year. *tr

EXTERIOR LIGHTING - TURN SIGNAL
01/24/20073
I purchased a 2005 pacifica touring with awd in the summer of 2006. three times my car has had difficulties when there was a dusting of snow blowing over the road. the 1st incident was on jan. 24 2007, the front end of my vehicle started to lose control and finally i went into a spin. i was in the left lane of a 2 lane road heading south. my car spun in front of the vehicle in the right lane, through the ditch, and finally ended up in the trees on the other side of the ditch. i suffered only minor injuries-neck sprain, but i took out a highway sign and a tree. damages to my car totaled over $11,000, i got it back from the body shop 1 month after the accident. the 2nd time i was by myself, the 3rd time i had my 1 year old daughter in the back seat, both times i wasn't driving fast, the second time it kept swaying even after slowing down to 30 mph. this has caused me a lot of concern so my husband started having to drive me to work during the winter months. now we are planning to sell the pacifica because of the poor gas mileage. i don't feel comfortable selling this vehicle without reassurance that there's nothing wrong with it. recently the front end has started to make noise every once in a while also. it makes a low thudding sound that makes my ears feel like they're going to pop. my husband tried putting the car in neutral and turning the ignition off, but it still kept making the noise. it first started about 2 months ago and i've heard it three times, we've also had problems with the blinkers failing to turn off.
