In a november 8, 2006 letter, daimlerchrysler corporation (dcc) submitted a defect information report to nhtsa concerning two separate defect conditions that could result in engine stall while driving in model year (my) 2005-2006 chrysler pacifica vehicles (nhtsa recall no. 06v-432).my 2005 vehicles built in august and september of 2004 are being recalled to correct a defect in the secondary fuel pump modules, which may have an improper press fitting on the inlet that can become dislodged and shut-off fuel flow.all my 2005-2006 vehicles built between july 8, 2004 and november 11, 2005 are being recalled to correct a powertrain control module (pcm) software issue with the evaporative emissions system which can also cause stalling.for both conditions, engine stall incidents tend to occur during left turns. there were 17,375 vehicles built during august and september 2004 that were affected by both the fuel pump module and pcm software conditions.there were 30 voqs submitted to odi, 58 consumer complaints to dcc and 829 field reports relating to vehicles produced during this period.while these are mostly related to the fuel pump condition, some may have been caused by the software fault.the resulting stall while driving failure rate for this period is 5,278 incidents per 100,000 vehicles.there were two crashes alleged to have resulted from these incidents.there were 1,021 warranty claims for fuel pump module replacement that appear related to engine stall (5.9% claim rate). the population for the remaining vehicles included in 06v-432 (i.e., those only affected by the software condition) is 114,523.there were 97 voqs, 124 consumer complaints to dcc and 454 dcc field reports relating to these vehicles.the resulting stall while driving failure rate is 589 per 100,000 vehicles.there were seven crashes alleged to have resulted from these incidents.there were 3,211 warranty claims for pcm reflash that appear related to engine stall in the total population of 131,898 vehicles (2.4% claim rate). all calculations are based on unique vins (multiple/repeat failures not included in these calculations) with no duplication across categories.dcc's recall will reprogram the pcm software and replace the fuel pump modules in all affected vehicles.this engineering analysis has been closed.

On february 27, 2006 rq06-002 was opened in response to 60 complaints of engine stall, mostly during left-hand turns, in model year (my) 2004 to 2006 chrysler pacifica vehicles that were outside the scope of recall 04v-113.in march 2004, daimlerchrysler initiated recall 04v-113 on 34,561 my 2004 pacifica vehicles to correct a condition that could result in engine stall while making a left-hand turn after a cold-start.during rq06-002 it was determined that recall 04v-113 did correct the specific cause of the engine stalling condition for that specific population.however, two other conditions were identified that could also cause engine stalling during turning maneuvers:(1) an issue with misbuilt fuel pumps that primarily affected about 17,000 my 2005 pacifica vehicles built during august and september 2004; and (2) a software condition affecting vapor purge in about 131,000 my 2005-06 pacifica vehicles built from july 2004 through november 2005. an engineering analysis, ea06-013, has been opened to further examine the scope, frequency and safety consequences associated with each of these conditions in the subject vehicles.

Ea06-010 was opened based on information gathered in preliminary evaluation pe06-009.pe06-009 was opened based on information obtained in a peer information request as part of a preliminary evaluation (pe05-050) of fuel tank puncture in model year (my) 2003 through 2006 nissan murano vehicles.in january 2006, nissan submitted a defect information report to odi that identified a defect in the fuel tank shielding in approximately 209,000 my 2003 through 2006 nissan murano vehicles.to remedy the problem, nissan installed shields on the exposed front surfaces of the recalled vehicles.peer data collected for my 2004 through 2005 pacifica vehicles during pe05-050 included 120 field reports documenting tank replacements due to puncture or damage by road debris as part of a parts restriction program conducted at the request of the tank supplier (inergy). analysis of the information provided by chrysler during pe05-050, pe06-009 and ea06-010 show that the front surface of the fuel tanks in the subject pacifica vehicles is not completely protected fromroad debris by the floor pan or other body structure.the tanks were compared with peer vehicles, including several identified by chrysler as sharing similar design characteristics (unshielded high-density polyethylene plastic fuel tanks in a saddlebag configuration).some of the peer designs reviewed by odi packaged the tanks in recessed cavities in the floor pan or used shields to protect exposed surfaces on the front of the tank.in general, these tanks had the lowest complaint rates for tank puncture by road debris. however, other peer designs reviewed by odi had packaging similar to the subject vehicles and some of these also had some complaints of tank puncture.none of the peer vehicles analyzed by odi had tanks puncture data comparable to chrysler's field reports from its part restriction programs, so that data could not be used in peer comparisons. analysis of the complaint data shows that the rate for the subject vehicles is about half that observed in the recalled murano vehicles and not significantly higher than some of the peer vehicles analyzed with similar design characteristics.testing by the nhtsa vehicle research and testing center (vrtc) showed differences between the murano and pacifica fuel tank packaging and exposure to road debris thrown by the front tires.accordingly, this investigation is closed.the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that a safety-related defect does not exist.the agency will continue to monitor complaints and other information relating to the alleged defect in the subject vehicles and take further action in the future if warranted.see document file for additional information regarding this resume.

On february 22, 2006, odi opened pe06-009 to investigate reports that the fuel tanks on model year (my) 2004 to 2005 chrysler pacifica vehicles may be punctured by contact with road debris.the number of reports submitted by chrysler was significantly higher than those submitted by other manufacturers who were requested to submit data as part of investigation pe05-050 into my 2003 to 2006 nissan murano vehicles that may have had insufficient shielding of the fuel tank to prevent punctures after contact with road debris.nissan issued recall 06v-003 involving increasing the shielding of the fuel tanks to reduce the likelihood of tank punctures. chrysler has noted that they had in place from january 2003 to june 2005 a parts restriction program on pacifica fuel tank replacements which may have made the number of reports artificially high in comparison to manufacturers which did not have a similar program in effect.chrysler also questioned whether many of the field reports of fuel tanks replaced due to damage from unknown cause were actually punctured. this investigation has been upgraded to an engineering analysis (ea06-010) to gather additional information concerning the alleged defect in the subject vehicles.

Gas gauge drops to empty from 1/2 to 3/4 tank instantly; occasionally returns to 1/2 full without notice. $10 gas takes gauge from empty to 1/2 full. never know how much gas is in car. then about a week after this started, at 75000 miles, the check engine light illuminated on dash. took to have a diagnostic run, came up, dealer specific code. very similar to other complaints noted on this page.

My 2005 chrysler pacifica stalls when a left hand turn is made at highway speed or in parking lots. this is very, very dangerous because you lose braking and power steering. the gas gauge goes from half a tank to empty within a matter of 50 miles or less. when you try to re-fuel it you only get about ten galllons to go in after about ten minutes of the nozzle clicking off repeatedly. called chrysler dealer and they have never heard of any of these problems. took car in and they found nothing wrong. i know for a fact that a dtc of p1861 is and was present. this codes means that a fuel tank siphon line is disconnected. this vehicle makes me and my family nervous to drive. we can not afford to trade and can not afford any cosyly repair bills with no positive outcome. please help to get chrysler to issue a recall to fix the problem that is occuring with so, so so many 2005 pacificas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2005 chrysler pacifica throttle requires excessive force to depress causing the vehicle to lurch forward when the throttle finally moves. we reported the issue to our dealer approximately 18 months ago. they seemed to have prior knowledge of the issue and repaired it while the vehicle was in for repairs after striking a dog (unreleated to the defect). now the issue has returned and when my wife called to schedule service to have the issue repaired again the dealership wouldn't schedule a time to repair the defect and actually acted as if they weren't aware of the issue and would need several hours to troubleshoot the issue prior to repairing it. i researched the issue online and evidently this is an issue with the throttle body assembly which typically takes an hour of labor time to treat the symptom which eventually returns. it also seems to be a common issue with the pacifica. the issue with our vehicle is becomming serious and now that our local dealership in lugoff, sc seems to have no desire to help us i'm not sure where to take it for repair.

The car will stall at intermittent times when going at low speeds and low rpms. the stalling causes the steering wheel to freeze up. the car will start immediately after the stall. i have taken the car to an authorized chrysler dealer, darcars, several times and they cannot diagnose the problem. it appears similar in nature to the safety recall f44 which was issued on later chrysler pacifica models in 2005-2006. the issue occurs almost daily and have not had any parts replaced because the chrysler mechanic, darcars, cannot duplicate the issue. i have brought this stalling issue up with chrysler and opened up a case, # 19090751, which they closed because they stated that my car was outside the safety recall f44 as well as that darcars could not replicate the problem. the stalling is intermittent, as stated previously, and i have sent the logs to darcars as to when it happens. *tr

I have a 2005 chrysler pacifica awd touring edition. along with my fuel quantity problem, i also have a stalling problem now. researching on edmunds.com, it seems i am not the only one. the vehicle shuts down when coming to a stop. since my fuel gage is not working, i have been using my trip meter to gauge mileage and tank quantity. right around 110-150 miles after a fill-up, my vehicle starts to shut off. when i fill it, it only takes about 7-10 gallons of fuel. then it drives fine. this is a major problem, especially since my spouse transports the children to and from school on a major highway with alot of traffic and many stops on the road. there are many owners of this year that are having the same issues. it seems like a malfunction that may have to due with the f44 fuel pump and control module reprogramming recall. we had this completed on the car. now we have problems. i was told by the dealer that this is not associated with the recall. we never had problems prior to the recall being performed. *tr

My wife and i own a 2005 chrysler pacifica, which we are having a problem with the gas pedal sticking. while accelerating the pedal sticks and jerks you forward until you have smooth acceleration while pushing the gas pedal. i feel this is a safety problem. we have been to the dealers about this and they say everything is fine but have noticed the problem themselves. i have noticed that there is alot of the same problems after browsing the internet that others are having the same problem. this is going to get someone killed if this isn't looked into. thank you. *tr

2005 chrysler pacifica, started having problems at 50,000 miles. abs sensors had to be replaced and recall for fuel module...but most upsetting the car stalls at low speeds or while making turns..ie: pulling into parking spaces,etc.. i have brought it to dealership and like many others without engine light on they cannot duplicate problem, therefore we are sent on our way with no fix!! i have 4 children and i am terrified to drive this car!! why wont chrysler stand behind these vehicles!!!*tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chrysler pacifica. the contact stated that she has been experiencing failures with the fuel tank. whenever she attempts to add fuel to the vehicle, it will not take more than five gallons, and the dial never indicates that it is more then 3/4 full. also, the dial will move from half a tank down to empty within 60 miles. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer more than six times and they replaced the level kit sensor, which did not repair the failure. within weeks, the dealer replaced the fuel pump module, which also did not repair the failure. a month later they repaired the full tank hoses, but the failure persisted. a year later, the fuel pump module was replaced once again. after all of these repairs, the failure has not yet been properly corrected. the failure is causing the vehicle to stall while driving 15 mph. the failure mileage was 61,000 and current mileage was 84,000.

I have had my 2005 chrysler pacifica for less than a week when my fuel gauge went from 1/2 of a tank to empty while driving. then it went back up to 1/2 of a tank a minute later. when i went down a hill the vehicle stalled and had to be put in park and restarted. i have two small children and this scared me. i looked up my vin number but found no recall, however i found this similar problem in other 05 pacificas and i found that they had been recalled. i have my car back at the dealership getting fixed but am desperate to find out if this recall could be my problem. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chrysler pacifica. whenever the fuel tank reaches the half full mark, it immediately drops to empty. the failure causes the vehicle to shut off within a mile of being driven. the contact did not notice any differences in the vehicle prior to the failure. the vehicle has not been diagnosed by the dealer. two years prior to the failure, the vehicle was serviced for the pcm module, which has been changed three times since the contact has owned the vehicle. the current mileage was 53,000 and failure mileage was 48,000.

Bought 2005 chrysler pacifica in july 2006. since that time i have had numerous problems with the vehicle. when the gas gauge is at approximately 1/3 tank of gas it suddenly drops to empty and begins stalling upon turns. i took the vehicle back to the dealership and they did not know what the problem was and asked me to bring the vehicle back when it was at approximately 1/3 tank so they could do testing. i was without my vehicle one whole day for this and did not have time to take it back again. next, i received a recall notice that claimed to fix the stalling problem. yesterday i took my vehicle in to have the recall performed. again, i was without my vehicle all day. today, after the recall, my vehicle is still having the same problems. the gas gauge dropped suddenly to empty and began stalling at this point. there are other problems that may be related. after the car is reading empty and i proceed to put gasoline in the tank it will only allow 13 gallons to be pumped, the owners manual claims that the vehicle has a 23 gallon tank. however, i have never been able to put more than 13 gallons of gas in the tank. also, every now and then when i try to put fuel in the tank, the hose will continually shut off as if the vehicle is full. sometimes this happens the whole time i am filling up and i have to just keep on clicking, clicking, clicking . . . to get the gas to go into the vehicle. these problems have caused our family much distress and the stalling is a very real safety issue. thank you for your help with this. susan ashcraft. *nm

I brought my car to the dealership in late august for regular maintenance. i told them i was having a long crank when starting the car. they said i probably did not put the gas cap on tight and air got into the tank. i disagreed with this but supposedly diagnostics these days pick up on everything. a week later i was driving down an incline and my gas gauge dropped from 1/2 tank to e. i immediately pulled into a gas station and the tank took 15 gallons. we run through a tank of gas maybe once every two weeks. usually, i top off the tank. therefore, i did not notice this problem again until last weekend. in this instance, when the gas gauge got to just below 1/2 tank , dropped to e and stalled. we were in highway traffic. we immediately restarted the car and got to a gas station. the car would only take 8 gallons. i am bringing it to the dealer tomorrow. btw, still have the long crank...it has never gone away. *nm

About a month and a half ago, my chrysler pacifica 2005 started to have a couple of probably related problems, one of which can be dangerous. the car will stall when turning left. if a car is coming up behind me, i could get rear ended. the other problem is that my fuel gauge will show a half tank one minute and almost empty the next. when i have filled up, it would only take 15 gallons, meaning that there are still 8 gallons left. i have an appointment in one week with my local dealer and hope that they can fix this, as it is potentially dangerous. *jb

Dt*: the contact stated while stopped at a traffic lights the vehicle would stall without warning. this occurred on several occasions. the vehicle was restated and driven to the dealer each time where the problem could not be duplicated. updated 9/18/2006 - the vehicle is manufacturers with two fuel tanks and two fuel pumps. it was later determined that the secondary pump failed leaving the vehicle with the use of only on tank. the cv joint failed which caused a clunking sound when putting the vehicle in reverse or drive. . *nm

 1. the vehicle stalls and/or turns off when making a left turn. it also stalls and/or turns off at stop lights when the gas pedal is pressed to . the fuel tank is at half full during all events and actually drops to zero for minute then returns to half full. 2. i have almost been hit in traffic, at intersections, several times because the vehicle quit. i am only able to fill the tank half of the time otherwise it only let me fill to 3/4 full. due to the mpg rating this means frequent trips to the gas station. 3. i have taken it to the dealership 3 times. they were unable to reproduce the problem the first two times. they determined that it was a fuel module problem after the third time because the problem occurred with the service technician was there. a replacement part has been ordered but has been, of course, on backorder for 3 weeks. still no fix. cars stopping in traffic is a serious safety issue. please do a quick search on the internet and you will find many instances of the problem. it's not isolated and should be investigated as a recall. thank you. *nm

Vehicle stalls without warning when fuel level gauge is near half tank. the fuel level will go down to half and soon after it will drop unexpectedly to e and will stall out before you know what is happening. car will restart and make it to a gas station. upon filling the tank it will only take 9-11 gallons of gas. this car has a 23 gallon tank. the tank also has problems filling. it takes 5-10 min of frustration to get 10 gal in it. rollover ball maybe? *jb

During the first week of june, 2006 i noticed a few things that seemed to all begin at the same time. my pacifica would not start right away when i first attempted to start it after it had been sitting over night, it would hesitate when i took off from a stop if i had been on a downhill incline and the gas gauge would drop to empty as soon as the tank was down to five-eighths full. the problem went away as soon as i filled the tank, but the next week it happened again when the tank got down to five-eighths. i called the dealer to make an appointment to have it looked at and the earliest they could take it was june 21st. the problem got much worse by the time the 21st came around. every time i came to a stop the engine would stall. it would start back up if the car was put in drive, but if it was on a downhill incline it would not restart. i took the car to the dealer on june 21st and was told it needed a fuel pump. they called me later that day and said the part was back ordered, but they should have it in a day or two. well, today is july 19th and my car is still at the dealer waiting for a part. evidently the pacificas have a primary fuel pump and a jet pump. so many of the cars have had this problem (there are hundreds of complaints listed on edmunds.com forum) that evidently they can't keep up with the demand for these pumps. i filed a complaint with the chrysler customer assistance center on july 11th. i don't know if it has done any good, but they do call the dealer each time i call them while they have me on the phone. i am trying to be patient because i love this car, but this is getting ridiculous. it is also having a new power seat memory module installed because both power seats stopped working and it had a new transfer case installed because of a clicking/clunking noise in the front end during turns. *nm

On the first day of owning our pacifica the fuel gauge dropped down from about a 1/2 tank to less than a 1/4 tank and almost stalled on us twice. fueling the car back up with just a few dollars put the gas gauge back past the 1/2 way mark which there's obviously no way this could happen. since that night, the car has subsequently stalled twice while exhibiting the same problem of the gas gauge dropping down to almost empty. this is a major safety concern, what if this car stalls in an intersection etc... this needs to be fixed asap before someone is hurt. *nm

(2) vehicle began hesitating while downhill on a driveway, tank near empty. filled tank, but only took 9.6 gallons. when driven to the top of the red empty range, car began to hesitate, or even stall at a stop light. progressively from that point, less and less fuel can be pumped into the tank, and dealer determined that one half of the tank is full, the other at the filler neck is part full. dealer believes a valve inside the tank is the problem -- part on order. meanwhile, i can not fill the tank with more that 4.5 gallons, and it reads 2/3 full at that point. car continues to stall on downhill driveway when gauge reads at the top of the red empty range. when tank cap is removed, there is a rush of air either in or out of the tank. *jb

I have a 2005 chrysler pacifica touring edition awd with approximately 48,000 miles. this past week, my vehicle started stalling at stops. after my spouse took it to a car repair facility, they could not find any codes. she stated she had 1/2 tank of fuel showing. i had to rent a trailer to pick the vehicle up and drop it off at the dealer. when i started the vehicle the fuel gauge went from 1/2 to empty. i dropped it off at the dealer and they performed the repairs for the stalling problem. when i picked up the car, the service technician told me they had to put $10 dollars of fuel in it cause it was showing empty and that the tank low fuel light was on. according to the trip indication of fuel mileage, it said i had 18 miles until empty. i started the car and the fuel gauge went to 1/2 tank! okay problem here!! i had the technician put it back on diagnostic and showed no codes and fuel quantity was at 18 miles left according to the computer. i went straight to the gas station and attempted to fill the tank, it only took 6.73 gallons and would not take any more. i called the dealer and they said it was the tank sending units (2ea) that would have to be replaced. looking at other complaints, we all have a problem with this model and year. *tr

2005 chrysler pacifica has stalled 4 times. each time the vehicle had been brought to a complete stop at a stop sign, then the vehicle stalled. vehicle was put in park and restarted. i noticed that each time the vehicle had approximately 1/4 tank of gas or less. the last two times it stalled i put $7 of gas in the vehicle and the gas gauge showed 1/2 tank. obviously this is not likely as it takes approximately $50 to fill the tank. after approximately 45 miles the gas tank gauge went from 1/2 tank to 1/8 tank in the blind of an eye. also, vehicle was only getting approximately 200 miles for a full tank. vehicle is currently at the dealership, however, at this point the dealership is saying that they cannot recreate the situation and have a call in to chrysler to see if they can advise further.

Poping noises at front end on driver and passenger sides, while turning at slow speeds going forward and backing up. also filled up gas tank, mileage/guage till empty was 344, drove one mile and it went to 243. it is currently in the shop again, they are waiting on a part shaft to replace it. they usually don't have old parts available because it is still under warranty.

Rick hendrick jeep/chrysler, north charleston, sc did not perform the necessary job duties to remedy the safety recall of the fuel pump on my 2005 chrysler pacifica. the dealer had my vehicle for 4 days, but the recall was not properly corrected which caused major danger to myself and my family! i first began to smell gas on tuesday evening after i filled my gas tank and continued to smell excessive gas on wednesday so i called the service department. i was told to bring my vehicle back to be checked out, but they claimed nothing was found! so i returned home on their word. the very next day, thursday, i proceeded to fill my gas tank again to take a road trip out of state that evening, but as my tank was filling so was the ground of the gas station...i was very upset at this point!!!! i called rick hendrick's service manager who didn't exhibit any remorse for my endangerment! i was quite irate at this point because i felt endangered and was suppose to be on my way out of town, but could not leave due to rick hendrick's service department lack of responsibility to take care of me as a customer satifactorily! i told the s.m. that i wanted to be compensated for the two gas fill-ups that i had lost due to their problem, but he did not compensate me! my vehicle and myself was towed to the dealer, and finally they found that they were at fault...not myself! they did not put the correct seal on my vehicle, therefore, the gas was leaking out! i was not treated satisfactorily once i arrived at the dealer. this was a total inconvenience traveling 50 miles each time for their problem! i want compensation, and a formal apology from rick hendrick! i also contacted the general manager who has never called me back regarding this matter, therefore, i will seek other recourses. i will definitely not recommend anyone to purchase a vehicle from there, and i have decided not to give them my business any longer!

Tl* - the contact called received recall notice 06v432000 . she stated that repair was done on 12/18/06 for the fuel pump. the contact states that on 12/19/06 the vehicle wouldn't start. the vehicle was towed by aaa to dealership, the dealership told her that the replacement fuel pump was defective, and they replaced it again. the contact stated that on 12/22/06 after 2nd replacement she was driving at a speed of 80 mph when the vehicle lost power, there was no indication or warning lights. the contact was able to pull the vehicle off to the side of the road, she turned off the ignition switch and turned it back on, and the vehicle started up. *ak

Since of october of 2005 my chrysler pacifica 2005 touring has stalled numerous times. one particular incident i remember is when i was make a permissible u-turn and the vehicle stalled. fortunately for me there was not on-coming traffic and i placed the vehicle in park and restarted the ignition. the stall issues complete power failure in the vehicle. the engine is very loud at low speeds and idles. currently the fuel gauge is reading incorrectly. according to epa estimates miles on a tank is 393 miles, the gauge reads 301-312. also, the vehicle around november started to experience difficult cold starts. initially i attributed that to cold weather, however the problem has become persistent. the was an accident in january 2006 with my wife at the wheel but i has yet to be determined if it was due to vehicular or driver error. while i am not a professional auto mechanic or ase certified, my opinion is that this is an issue with the vehicles intake and possibly a misfire of the pistons. i have submitted the vehicle to a chrysler facility for

Purchased the car six weeks ago and it has 2,500 miles on it. i was making a left turn onto a busy exit entering a major highway (route 1n) and the car stalled and steering wheel locked. i have a four year old and a two year old. thank god they were not in the car with me. no accident occurred. the dealer appointment is in five days at which they will test drive the vehicle with me to try to recreate the situation. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 chrysler pacifica. while driving 65 mph, the fuel gauge went from half a tank to empty. the contact stated that the vehicle would not accept fuel. the check engine light illuminated and the headlights were inoperable. the dealer stated that the fuel pump and wiring harness caused the failures. the fuel pump, headlight bulb, and the wiring harness were replaced; however, the failures continued. the manufacturer stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign id number 05v066000 (exterior lighting: headlights) and nhtsa campaign id number 06v432000 (powertrain: automatic transmission control module (tcm, pcm)). the failure mileage was 68,000 and current mileage was 69,000. updated 03/14/08. *lj the consumer stated the fuel gauge was not reading properly

Vehicle fuel indicators very erratic, shows full tank then quickly drops to empty showing no miles to empty and car stalls out. dealership replaced fuel pumps and problem persists. keep gas tank above 1/2 to avoid stalling. dealer does not know what to do. referring them to safety recall f44 ? fuel pump module and/or reprogram pcm (does not apply to this vin allegedly). waiting on response. *tr

For the last two months my car has not wanted to start on the first try. always have to turn the key a second time. this happens first thing in the morning since the car has sat all night. also, my fuel gauge is not reading appropriately to the level of gas in the tank. at approximately a 1/4 of a tank the gauge instantly goes to empty. i put in 2 gallons of gas and miraculously the gas gauge reads 1/2 tank. now those who own a pacifies know that two gallons does not fill your tank half way. this morning my fuel gauge read 3/4 tank and my od read approx. 111 miles for the trip thus far. i wanted to fill it up but the car would only take in 2 gallons. turned on the car the fuel gauge did not move from 3/4 tank. drove 25 miles and somehow my gauge read almost full. i have also noticed that at time when i step on the gas pedal my car does not seem to speed up. it is almost as if i was in neutral. i have brought my car back to the dealer on two occasions and have another appointment scheduled and they tell me that they can not duplicate the problem. they claim the car starts fine for them, even if left overnight. also, they claim to have syphoned gas out of my tank and the gauge reads appropriately to the amount of gas that was in the tank. approximately a year ago my car did stall as i was taking a left hand turn at a low speed. i immediately contacted the dealer and was told they it normal for a car to occasionally do that. these are very serious and potentially dangerous incident as i have my toddler with me in the car most of the time. *jb

Fuel gauge drops to empty with only 16 out of 23 gallons in tank used. refilled several times, same result. today while parked downhill, gauge read completely empty (still had approximately 7 gallons) would not start as if out of gas. once on an upslope gauge went to 3/8. could not start on down slope. *jb
