 07 chrysler motor mounts defective
12/06/201040000
Purchased a used 2007 chrysler pacifica (6-speed auto) from chrysler dealer with around 40k miles. immediately noticed that the transmission shift points were not what they should be. there were very noticeable bangs when the car shifted gear. returned car to dealer who stated that there was a service bulletin to reflash shift points. the work was completed and car appeared to shift more normally but still felt some good bumps when shifting. took car to dealer for second service trip and they stated that motor mounts needed replaced. i searched the internet and found an unending list of identical problems. the motor mounts have failed from 2004 till the present. something needs to be done about this.

We purchased a 2007 pacifica brand new and are having motor mount issues after 30,000 miles. when we took the vehicle in and notified the dealer, they stated that the motor mounts are bad and that we'd have to take the car to the chrysler dealer from whom we purchased the car. unfortunately, they have since gone out of business. there are numerous consumers with the same motor mount issue on their chrysler pacificas at this link: http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/chrysler-pacifica/tnpd19hvinl2spnh1/p4#lastpost . please help us. *tr

I purchased a '07 chrysler pacifica in february. i've had nothing but problems with the car. i had to have the motor mount replaced. i had problems with it shuttering and acting as though it doesn't shift between 30-35 mph. i've had the torque converter replaced on it as well. after that i've had to have the tie rods replaced, and the struts. since i've noticed that almost everyone is having the torque converter and motor mount problems as well as other chrysler vehicles this should be addressed. since i've had the torque converter removed while it was still in shop i get my car back and when you let go of the steering wheel it veers completely to the left. now the dealership is trying to clean their hands and saying it's a defect with the car; they have to contact chrysler. hello-it didn't do this before i took it in and now it is since they've 'fixed' it. it's actually unbelievable since so many car manufacturers are failing you'd think they'd recall this problem, fix it and keep what reputation they have left. *tr

I purchased my 2007 pacifica in 2009 with about 30,000 miles from chrysler, elk grove, california. upon reaching about 57,000 miles, when accelerating, i would hear loud metal banging from the engine area. i would also feel a hard jolt when accelerating. after visiting chrysler, elk grove service center, i was told that 3 of my pacifica engine motor mounts failed and needed immediate replacement at about $1000.00 dollars. i asked if this problem would occur again and was told

Failed motor mounts. i am the original owner of a 2007 chrysler pacifica. i took the vehicle to a dealer and was informed that the motor mounts had failed and needed to be replaced. chrysler was made aware of the failure. and they stated that no recalls had been issued. mileage at the time of diagnosis was 59,000. as the vehicle was out of the basic warranty, and mounts are not covered under the powertrain warranty, i was told i have no coverage for repair of this known defect. manufacturer suggested that i pay for the repair at the dealership, at the wildly inflated dealer pricing, and then they would see if there was anything they could do regarding a possible partial reimbursement after the fact. i may have been dumb enough to buy a chrysler, but i'm not that dumb. an estimate from a private garage was 50% less. a review of this site and the broader internet shows this to be a known and common problem with these vehicles. how many of these failures need to be reported before a recall is issued?

The first incident occurred a few weeks after we purchased the vehicle, i noticed rust/pit marks all over the exhaust system (under warranty completely replaced). the second incident occurred when i continued to notice the driver side floor was wet after rain or a car wash. front windshield gasket needed to be replaced (under warranty repaired). the third incident the car was shifting hard brought it in was told it's normal no problem found. fourth incident the car continued to shift hard, brought it in again and was told the motor mounts were broken (under warranty replaced). fifth incident noticed the rear bumper fading compared to the other bumpers. told it did not have the proper sealer on it (under warranty repaired). sixth incident, noticed left rear molding panel loose. found clip to fasten the molding was broken and defective, (under warranty replaced). seventh incident, noticed the right rear molding panel loose. found clip to fasten the molding was broken and defective, (under warranty replaced). all this with less than 30,000 miles. thank god for the warranty. *tr

Upon fast acceleration or braking there was a noticable mechanical clunk and a shift forward or back in weight/momentum. this was due to two broken/defective motor mounts discovered during the course of a 64,000 mile service maintenance check. shortly after dropping the car off for service on 2/17/11 i received a call form the dealer alerting me to the fact that when the accelerator is pressed the engine would rise to within two inches of the interior of the hood. the dealer replaced the mounts and showed me the bad parts and explained why they fail and drain their liquid filler. althouth my car is well out of warranty i contacted chrysler to ask them to cover the cost of the repair and they told me that this was typical mechanical wear and tear on the vehicle and is not covered in or out of warranty. i personally view this as defective parts and engineering. i have owned many cars over the years and have not had to replace a motor mount. further i simply went on to the internet and googled motor mounts 2007 pacifica and came up with many, many cases of the same probelms with pacifica's. i cannot speak to the issue of direct safety issues with this problem but surely with a motor improperly secured the potential for danger is paramount.

I have a 2007 pacifica, it started shaking bad. took it into the dealer and the motor mounts where replaced. at the sametime the torque converter was also replaced. because the torque converter would unlock when given a little we took the car back three times for this problem. the dealer says that this was normal???? but we don't think so. *tr

The vehicle has 37,000 miles on it. according to the dealership, the rear motor mount is broken and needs to be replaced. i find it hard to believe that a motor mount would break at under 40,000 miles. *tr
