FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
07/05/201175000
Beginning in july 2011 the gas guage became erratic. it would show 1/2 tank and 200miles to empty. within 20 miles it would show low fuel and shortly after run out of gas. around the same time the fuel tank would take a very long time to fill. the nozzle keeps kicking off as if the tank were full. the only way to fuel it is to gently squeeze the nozzle and trickle it in. the fastest it will take fuel is slow enough that you can actually count the pennies on the pump as they go up. after e-mailing chrysler no less than 7 times and finally demanding to speak to a supervisor i recieved a phone call today,12/29/2011. i had him on the phone for 40 minutes and got nowhere. the last e-mail they sent me said the answer would remain the same, which tells me there was a predetermined answer to my problem. i asked the supervisor who called me for a phone number i could call to speak to someone higher than him and was told we don't do that. i cannot see how a car that is 5 years old needs a new fuel pump and a new fuel tank. he said this is the first case he has seen on this issue but i have found nearly 100 cases identical to mine on-line. i also called 7 dealers in 5 states and they have all heard of this problem and knew just what the car needs. parts and labor comes to just over $1500.00. i would greatly appreciate any help or advice you could provide. thank you.

My 2007 chrysler pacifica stalls while driving. we have only owned it for 9 months but in that time we have had five stalling issues. our local dealership has tried cleaning various parts of the transmission, but it continues to stall. i noticed that 2003 to 2006 pacifica's were recalled for a similar issue.

My wife hit a pothole in the street with our 2007 chrysler pacifica. the car was drivable after the incident, but her and my granddaughter smelled gasoline. they proceeded toward home and noticed the gas gauge was going down very quickly. they got home with the gas gauge reading empty, they had traveled about 3 to 4 miles and lost 3/4 of a tank of gas. i looked under the car and saw a gash in the bottom front of the plastic gas tank about 2 long. this was disturbing to me because the front corner of the tank has no protection. *tr
