The horn goes off by itself while driving and when opening the car with the remote. in order to disconnect the switch for the horn it also means disconnecting the air bag. this is unsafe and should be repaired by chrysler. the average repair cost is $1000. with those of us umemployed this is way beyond reasonable. the alternative to disconnect it is not an alternative due to safety concerns of not having an airbag. chrysler should post a recall for this issue and take responsibility to repair it.

Horn keeps going off by it self. now i have no horn and the airbag light keeps coming on. i have checked other web sites and this is a well known issue with the sebring why isn't this on recall? i have been cut off on several occasions where a horn was needed i came very close to be running off the road several times do to the other driver not looking in blind spots where as if i had a horn i could have used it instead of being ran off the road.

This is the date of the last incident, but there have been at least 5 other incidents before this. i own a 2006 chrysler sebring convertible. my horn goes off for no reason, a long (about 30 seconds at a time) uninterrupted beep while i'm driving and also while the car is parked and off. this is a huge safety issue for me. i researched it on the internet and apparently a lot of people have this issue with 2005 and 2006 convertibles because of the way the airbag hits the horn. because of this, the airbag light goes on and off constantly. chrysler does not cover this defect, and it is a costly repair, from what i've heard. not recalling this car part is causing hundreds of people to remove their horn fuse, which is a huge safety issue also.

Defective horn assembly 2006 chrysler sebring touring convertible horn goes off intermittently (but not when i want it to) and remains on for 30-60 seconds. this is a much complained about problem for people with 2005 and 2006 sebrings. all you have to do is google 2006 sebring horn complaints and you'll see the same exact complaint over and over and over again. and you'll also see that chrysler has turned a deaf ear to the problem. this is esp. dangerous because (according to others who've had this looked at) the airbag module is at fault, although the airbag light isn't on. imagine how something like your horn suddenly going on and remaining on for that period of time might create dangerous conditions to the drivers and pedestrians. *tr

My horn will go off all by itself and i have to pound the steering wheel to make it stop. there isn't any consistency to when it will go off. it'll sound with or without the keys in the ignition, today it went off when i put the key into the doorlock. it also doesn't work when i need it to. if i hit the horn, nothing will happen until a couple seconds later, and then it won't stop. i've had 2 close calls with a vehicle coming into my lane and not being able to warn them by honking. one of those times was at 75mph on the freeway. if i hadn't had room to maneuver, we would have had an extremely bad accident. many people have posted on the internet with this same problem. on this site, i was able to find 10 complaints with the '06 and 4 with the '05. i 'm concerned for my safety when i drive this car and urge you to investigate/issue a recall. *tr

The horn on the car goes off intermittently and for no apparent reason and will not go stop until it's darn well wants to. this is a dangerous traffic hazard, causing other drive (and those in the sebring) to swerve or hit their brakes thinking that there's either an impending crash or an emergency on the road, or a car has gone out of control. it's an absolute danger to any pedestrians. there are many such complaints about this problem online: see http://www.carcomplaints.com/chrysler/sebring/2006/electrical/horn_goes_off_by_itself.shtml and http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2006/chrysler/sebring and. *tr

2006 sebring convertible in 2007 fuses blew top stuck half open. beginning mid 2010 fuses keep blowing, starter fuses keep blowing, dash lights go bright then dim, air bag light comes on and off intermittently, i don't know if it will deploy if needed. heater gets warm and then goes cold for no reason then warm again. it won't start at all now even with a jump. spend hundreds of dollars new battery, checked alternator, it still won't start. towing it to electrical tomorrow this car is not that old.

2006 chrysler sebring horn-apparently there are many people with the same problem. mine will not work when i need it, but it will go off about once very 3 days. i have given senior citizens virtual heartattacks, scared other drivers to death, and then just mad people mad since they can't figure out why i would just lay on my horn for 1 solid minute for no reason.

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chrysler sebring convertible. while idling at a stop sign, the vehicle accelerated and began idling rapidly. on august 29, 2007, the dealer diagnosed the vehicle and stated that it was operating normal. the following day, the contact informed the insurance company that she did not feel safe driving the vehicle. on august 31, 2007, the failure recurred and the contact crashed into another vehicle. both vehicles were damaged, but there were no injuries. the insurance company stated that a police report was not needed since there were no injuries. the dealer agreed to have the vehicle towed and to have a chrysler representative diagnose the failure. the representative also stated that the vehicle was operating normally. on september 28, 2007, another mechanic immediately diagnosed the failure and repaired the vehicle. the repair invoice is available. the current and failure mileages were 12,516.

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 chrysler sebring convertible. the contact stated that water was collecting on the rear passenger side floorboard. the dealer performed a diagnostic at the cost of $70, which consisted of pouring water over the convertible top. the dealer replaced the seal on the convertible top; however, the failure persisted. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer where they suggested that there may be a leak between the firewall and the air conditioner. the dealer tore out the front seat, pulled back the carpet to dry it out, and attempted to diagnose the origin of the failure. the contact has currently incurred over $600 in repairs for identical failures. the failures have yet to be resolved. the failure mileage was 30,470 and current mileage was 30,707.

2006 chrysler sebring convertible. horn goes off intermittently for not reason and nothing will stop it. horn doesn't work when i need it. called chrysler. no help at all. told them that it's clearly an engineering problem and that they should check online to see that there are thousands of complaints. the (vice president) refused to listen to me, denied there was a problem and told me i was on my own. how do you start the recall process? there is no fix for it.

2006 chrysler sebring convertible the panic alarm goes off in the car in the mornings without being pushed. it usually happens in the early mornings and when it is very cold outside. on average maybe 4-8 times a year. so far i have researched online and noticed that several other people have had the same problem. in my opinion this needs to be reviewed in light of this affecting 100's of people. please review this for possible recall. i understand from some consumers on a blog that there is a defect with the air bag and the proximity to the horn. i do not understand the mechanics aspect but know this is not a normal occurrence or routine wear and tear. this is something that should be recalled and repaired by chrysler and not the consumer. this is not a small expense it averages about $800 dollars to be repaired. i appreciate your review and consideration. thank you,
