Defect SummaryChrysler is recalling certain model year 2008 chrysler grand voyager, town and country and dodge grand caravan vehicles manufactured from june 24, 2007, through july 30, 2008. these vehicles may experience a heating and air conditioner (hvac) condensate leak from the hvac drain grommet onto the occupant restraint control (orc) module, which can lead to the illumination of the airbag warning light and a potential inadvertent airbag deployment without warning.
Consequence SummaryAn inadvertent airbag deployment could result in injury to the seat occupant in front of the deploying airbag and/or a vehicle crash.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the affected air bag module free of charge. the safety recall is expected to begin during august 2011. owners may contact chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

 2008 chrysler town and country, dealer replaced left and right front wheel bearings at 55000 miles due to loud noise. six months and 12.600 later dealer again replaced l and r front wheel bearings due to loud noise

 My tipm module needs to be replaced but since there is a national shortage for this part. i like thousands of others have to wait 6-9 months before there will be any available. this part has been on back order for a very long time. chrysler is very lucky that no one has been seriously hurt.

 2008 chrysler town & country. consumer writes in regards to complaint concerning chrysler safety recall l01 occupant restraint controller module *tgw the consumer stated the recall process wasn't handle properly or professionally. the consumer was informed it would take an hour to perform the recall. however, when she returned, the dealer informed her that they had only scanned the module and would have to order the replacement part. when the consumer called the dealer two weeks later, she was told the part still had not been ordered. the dealer told the consumer she was on the list, for the part to be ordered. the dealer stated chrysler would only allow them to place orders every four days. *jb

 Tl* the contact owns a 2008 chrysler town and country. the contact stated that the drainage hose from the compressor to the air conditioner was fractured and causing the freon to leak from the vehicle abnormally. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where freon was added to the vehicle but immediately leaked out. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign id number: 10v611000 (equipment: electrical: air conditioner) but was advised by the dealer that her vin was not included in the recall and the contact would be liable for the $299 repair. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 65,000.
