While driving the rear right tire valve broke off and the tire immediately deflated, had my speed been greater or had other cars been near an accident would most likely have happened. while inspecting the valves on the other three tires one more fell off in my hand. we didn't internet search and this problem has happened to many other people. this issue needs to be addressed before somebody gets killed

While driving approximately 25 mph, all the warning lights illuminated, and the windshield wipers activated independently. the vehicle was not taken to a mechanic. the manufacturer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls for the failure. the approximate failure and current mileage was 89,763

Van was parked went out to run to store would not start. had no power to anything, no windows, no radio, no instrument panel, gages don't come on when key is on. had bettery tested was fine. contacted dealer they had no idea. got van to start with remote starter but when i put key the key in and put to on van shuts off and refuses to start. called chrysler they had no clue and referred me back to the dealer.prior to this the van was running fine. have only owned it 4 months. seen other complaints about electrical issues and seems to be ongoing. you would think that chrysler would do a recall on the electrical system but who am i. this is the first chrysler that i have owned and has put a bad taste in my mouth about owning another since they have had numerious complaints and fail to resolve the issue nor does the dealer want to so the next step is contacting the better business bureau and the attorney general to investigate.

The dash flashed, and the headlights would no longer turn on. this is due to the tipm (totally integrated power module) shorting out, and has been reported all over the internet with various dodge, chrysler, jeep vehicles. i was made to pay approximately $250 for the repairs. in addition, a month later, the wireless ignition node died and the car would not start at all, and for that i had to pay $606.

Our 2008 town and country lx is experiencing problems with the windshield wipers, horn, dash board lights and radio. when the drivers side door is opened, all of the above items are happening. the dealership where we bought it (not a chrysler dealer) suggested we take it to a chrysler dealer to have the tipm (totally integrated power module) replaced as only the chrysler dealers can do this. after reading so many posts, it appears there are close to 3,000 people having the same problem. i wanted to officially file the complaint but will conduct further research before shelling out $500-1000 to the dealership as thousands of others have. 50% of the problems i read about stated that the tipm didn't totally solve the problem. thank you

My car acts possessed. the horn honks, wipers are on at full speed with fluid spraying everywhere, the locks go crazy (locking and unlocking by themselves), if the car is in motion the motor dies in traffic. this has happened several times since july 14, 2012. (at least 5 times per week). last night the fan motor came on by itself and ran the battery down. we had to unplug the fan motor to get it to stop. hopefully we can find out what is causing this issue.

General electrical malfunction that makes vehicle unsafe. while driving down the highway, the horn started honking uncontrollably and without provocation. even worse, the front windshield wipers and washers also activated making forward visibility difficult especially given we were heading east early in the morning. and, the door locks also cycled up and down. the dealer ran some diagnostics and also communicated the problem to the factory. the dealer had said that the factory thought the electrical problem originated from the tipm but they were not sure and said the cost would be $500. because of the high cost of the repair and the unsurety that the problem would be fixed, i did not have them replace the tipm. the problem occurred again soon after and so i pulled the two horn fuses. of course, that stopped the horn problem, but it also seemed to stop the washer/wiper and door lock problem. in june of this year, there was a recall about the electrical system the involved water getting into some parts of the air bag system. it was thought that this might be the indirect cause of my problem after all and so i reinstalled the horn fuses. not too long after, the original horn-blaring, washer/wiper activity and door locking and unlocking returned. this time, after pulling the horn fuses, i went to the dealer to see about getting this dangerous problem fixed. they said that the electrical part was backordered (by some 450 parts!) and that they would call me. that was a month ago and still no call. so, even after deciding to fix the problem, chrysler is not supplying the parts to do so! it is dangerous to drive with no horn or wipers! does chrysler have some 450 of these dangerous problems reported and not doing anything about it? with the inherent dangerous nature of the problems, i think there should be a recall. so this is why i am writing you.

When opening door after unlocking and disengaging alarm, horn abruptly comes on continuously and wipers start. pulled battery cable to shut off. imagine if i had been driving and this happened. could have caused a crash with me or others. afraid to even drive it to the dealer for repair. what if it locked my child in the car in the summer heat? this should be a mandatory recall immediately!!!!!

On may 2, the van would not start after coming out from a restaurant. the interesting thing is that the wipers had been going and the wiper fluid was empty and wiper fluid was all over the windshield and car. the battery was jumped as a short-term fix, but within a few miles (while going approximately 65mph), the car started honking its horn and wipers were going while driving. i quickly exited the highway and pulled into a nearby gas station. at that time, i put the vehicle into park and took the key out. even after the key was taken out, the vehicle continued to run, honk, and run the wipers. this continued for approximately 3 minutes before it quit by itself. the vehicle was towed to a nearby firestone center and the battery was replaced. this was unfortunately not the solution because another incident (same symptoms) occurred just 3 days later while driving. again, my wife got the vehicle to a safe place, but this time, she could not even get the van into the

Check engine light came on. had vehicle diagnostics test done at local chrysler/dodge/jeep dealer. bad egr valve to blame. found out through mechanic and online forums this is a common problem. also, the egr valve replacement is on national back order by over 6000!!! definitely should be recalled!!!!!

Driving the car in regular, dry, daylight, conditions in traffic at 35mph... engine stops, no power brakes, no power steering, no warning lights displayed, electrical system seems operation (radio is on). car is very hard to control with the loss of power steering/breaking and the engine can't be restarted unless the car is in park, so i have to pull over. this has happned 5 times in the past 12 months, randomly. i have taken it to the dealership twice to have this repaired, and they say they have never heard anything like it. i just did a google search and there is a recall on 2010 model year for a problem with the exact same description!!!

Beginning in 2010, both rear sliding doors began malfunctioning. when opened either with the remote or inside button, they begin to open and when most of the way open, close on its own. it started out doing it infrequently, about once every 50 times the door was opened. over the last year it has become more frequent, doing it about once every few days or so. once in 2010, my 3 year old daughter was getting out and the door malfunctioned and caught her in between, causing a bruise on her face. for some reason the door did not bounce back when it made contact with her, but thankfully i was standing there and was able to manually force the door back open.this year, the door again malfunctioned and almost caught my 8 yr old, but he managed to get out of the way. i have taken it to the dealer twice for this and both times they told me it is functioning fine.the first time i picked it up from the dealer i tested the door. i opened and shut it about 15 times and it malfunctioned. i went inside to get the repair tech to show him and when it didn't happen again he told me there was nothing he could do. when i brought the van in again to have them look at it the second time, they again told me it was functioning fine and that since my van needed a new battery that they thought the battery was the problem.the door did it again that night and again after that three days later. i contacted them twice about it again, asking them if i video taped it if they would believe me and figure out what was wrong.they told me it wouldn't matter and that they would need to keep it until they saw it.they had my van this last time for 5 days! i had to pay $217 for a rental because they didn't find anything. this is dangerous! i have four children getting in and out everyday. i don't have the money for rentals for an unspecified amount of time, but this is dangerous and needs to get fixed!

I have had my van for a little over 3 years and have already had to replace the front brakes on it twice and the rear brakes once. both times the rotors and brake pads had to be replaced. i have had to replace all 4 tires as well, and that was only at a little over 40,000 miles. i have had to replace the battery, and i am now fixing the a/c & heating system for the third time. and every time i check the mail i receive another recall notice! and all the issues could cause a fire. in addition, my rear automatic doors do not always close, i have to manually close them or they come back open. i have been paged out of a store for my back doors being open, after i watched them begin to close. i also have problems with the radio freezing.

While driving along at approximately 45 mph on highway 158 in north carolina, the tire pressure warning light came on. by the time the van could be safely pulled over to the side of the road and stopped, the left front tire was almost completely flat. the spare tire was installed and when the failed tire was laid on it's side the valve stem/tpm sensor fell inside the tire. the next day the van was taken to the nearest chrysler dealer for repair. the dealer stated that the retaining nut that holds the sensor in place must have cracked and allowed the air to escape from the tire. the mechanic said that he has seen many of these failures where the aluminum retaining nut cracks. he inspected the other three sensors and recommended that they be replaced before they also fail. the dealer did not have the necessary part to install a new sensor and would have to order it. because we were on vacation at the time and could not wait the time to get the part, the dealer installed a standard valve stem to get us home. he advised us that the warning light would remain on constantly until a proper sensor was installed. the dealer also advised us to get the proper sensor as soon as we returned home. this failure is a serious safety issue. we were fortunate that we were not traveling at interstate speeds or the outcome could have resulted in an accident. chrysler should be required to recall these sensors before someone is seriously injured.

The wiper blades (both front and back window) turn on without warning. the windshield wiper fluid will spurt out. and the horn will honk. these items will act like this for a short time and up to 10 minutes and won't stop. the car has stopped while i have been driving and will not start for up to 15 minutes. the cars engine will be running even after turning the key to off and taking the key out of the ignition. i have not used the transponder for no other reason than to start the car. the wipers, fluid and horn do not happen all of the time but, it does happen frequently. the car stopping has occurred twice and while my mobility limited mother was in the car with me.

Problem is the tire valve stems on the tire pressure monitoring system broke off. this occurred without warning after a 20 mile drive and had been setting in a parking lot for 10 min. the end of the valve stem just blew off. good thing we were not going down the road at 70 mph. i saw on the internet hundreds of these have been occurring. this could cause loss of control and safety from being stranded or worse. these need to be recalled and replaced with ones that do not corrode. i put new tires on this vehicle a couple of months ago to be safe and now i can not trust a simple valve stem !!!!!!!!!

Stuck calipers and smoking rear wheels at approximately 2500 miles. complained to dealership which has taken several times to fix the problem. after new brakes and calipers again and bearings replaced, again this was done in november 2010 customer complained of rear noises as brakes sticking or some problem with bearings that were replaced. dealer found no problem. 3/11/2011 however the car is still making noises and concern for safety is the issue for the customer. also, the defroster do not always work and customer has to scrape the inside of the window to see out. dealer could not re-create. also when it rains or slush the underneath of the car bangs as if something is loose. customer asked dealership to check also on 3/11/2011 and still the same answer could not re-create and found nothing. customer asked to check brakes, bearings, converter and differential on 3/11/2011 for the 4th time and again nothing was found. car has had numerous problems from day one including the gear shift coming off in hand. hot wheel syndrome in 2009 fixed but is back. customer going on trip and wants this documented.

Recalls k14, k04, k15 received three recalls on this vehicle indicating approx. 3.5 hours to repair. chrysler dealership told me i may loose my car for two days. i can't afford to be without a car for two days so i asked about a replacement vehicle. i was informed i would only get a replacement vehicle if i had a service contract. first there is total disconnect between what chrysler is saying on the time to repair these defects 3 1/2 hours to 2 days quoted by the dealer. second i should not be treated differently on being provided a replacement vehicle under a safety recall.

2008 chrysterler town and country van has been stalling while driving since 45k miles. it stalled once every other month at first, now it is every day. it stalls while driving 15mph or 60mph. the dealership has seen it two times in the service department and have been unable to determine what the cause is. when it stalls the breaks and gas are not functioning, the steering wheel locks, and the vehicle must coast to a stop. there is no warning when it will stall other than the rpm gauge suddenly drops from 1-2 to 0 rapidly. in that time it is possible to prevent the stall if the vehicle can accelerate quickly, but it is dangerous to watch the rpm gauge while simultaneously watching the road. the engine does not change sound at all.

2008 chrysler town and country vans need brakes well before they should. my first set of brakes only lasted approximately 15000 miles and the van has needed new brakes every 3000 miles since. according to chrysler this is normal maintenance. however many other toyota and honda mini van owners that i have spoken with have had their brakes last for 35k to 40k miles. if you research chrysler van brakes online, many people have posted in forums that their brakes also wear down at an alarming rate. chrysler acknowledges that there is a problem but as of yet has not provided a fix besides replacing the pads and rotors a ridiculous amount of times (although they are footing the bill minus a deductible up until 36,000 miles at which point it becomes the owner's problem). chrysler should be held responsible for making a product which does not perform properly and poses a safety hazard as many people have said online they did not realize they even had a problem with the brakes until they brought it in for other service and were told that the brakes were completely worn down after being replaced only a couple of thousand miles ago. my brakes pulsate violently on the highway and going downhill, but there is nothing chrysler can do about it short of replacing the rotors when the pulsation gets unbearable. in 30k miles i am currently on my 6th set of rotors and i have spent countless hours on the phone with chrysler but they will do nothing for me. chrysler has taken a lot of money from a lot of people and has not provided a safe product. they should have to fix the problem or take back the vehicles.
