The right rear power sliding door on the 2008 chrysler town & country fails to latch properly and does not notify the operator of the malfunction. the door will fail to operate in the closing operation with the power sliding option and requires operator intervention to manually close the door. in many instances when the door fails to close properly, iit is impossible to manually close the door to get the latch mechanism to engage. the failure of the door to latch constitutes a safety concern. the fact that there is no warning indicator to notify the operator that the door has not latched poses a severe safety risk to the occupants. the only notification the operator receives during this malfunction is increased road noise due to poor sealing between the door and door frame. occupants could be ejected from the unlatched door. the manufacturers representative has been made aware of the concern and has failed to properly address the concern or shown any interest in resolving the issue. other owners of chrysler town & country vehicles has stated that they have experienced similar concerns with their power sliding rear doors.
