Defect SummaryThe braun corporation is recalling certain model year 2008 through 2010 chrysler town & country and dodge caravan mobility conversions which were altered by braun between january 21, 2009 and march 19, 2010. during conversion, the chassis was raised and the floor was lowered to accommodate wheelchair accessibility features. in raising the chassis, the rear spring hats come into closer proximity to the rear tires. in rough or aggressive driving situations the tires may intermittently contact the rear spring hats.
Consequence SummaryContact between the tire spring hat may wear a hole in the tire over time. this may result in loss of vehicle control in the event of tire pressure loss increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective SummaryBraun will notify owners and repair the vehicles free of charge. the safety recall began on june 4, 2010. owners may contact braun toll-free at 1-800-488-0359.

Are the 1st owner of 08 chrysler t&c. have had a griding whining noise in the front end since mileage was at @20,000 mls. have had the van looked a numerous times and have been told it was the tires, then the brakes, then a normal sound and to just live with it-have fixed each time what they say with the noise still there...while driving it the noise has gotten louder and the stearing wheel started to vibrate...now after having it looked at it was found that it was the front wheel bearings....too worried to drive it as the shaking and noises my family comes first.....have taken it in to be replace to find out they were extremely bad! cost was $656 to replace the front wheel bearings! the dealer kept and disposed of the part are we are unable to get it to access the serial number(we tried) i was more worried that the bearings would break while driving and result in the van loosing control with family inside and going in the ditch. chrysler should have fixed it the first time it was in but now as the van has 46000 on they dont want to fix it even though there is a recall out for this problem for vans mfg 12/01/07-02/28/08 and this one was mfg on 11/30/07
