| Was told to wait 1 month for critical safety recall that can cause serious injury or death. from recall letter: chrysler is recalling certain model year 2008 chrysler town and country and dodge grand caravan vehicles. these vehicles may experience a water leak at the heating and air conditioner hvac drain grommet which can lead to illumination of airbag warning light and a potential inadvertent airbag deployment. i was told after taking my vehicle in that the part is on back order and i'd have to wait about a month to get this done. my concern is that i do hear hissing under the the dash and have loss a/c coolant. i am concerned that the airbag may deploy without warning. i felt and feel this should be escalated to get these parts faster in order to avoid an avoidable incident that may unnessary loss of life. not only for my family but others with similar vehicles. it didn't seem to matter to the service provider i spoke to this morning. i submitt this stating that i tried to address the problem, but chrysler and its represenetatives did not address the issue. link to article: http://auto-recalls.justia.com/chrysler/town-and-country/2008/10v611000/index.html | |||

| I bought a 2008 chrysler town and country in 9/08. i received a warranty extenstion regarding the front brakes. took in to a dealer 8/20/10 was told that there are no front brakes available as there is a national backorder from chrysler but the rear brakes are okay. i called 3 times to inquire on the parts status told not available from chrysler. went to another dealer who had the brakes but am now told that my rear brakes will not pass nys inspections on 9/28/10. i have exactly 24,171 miles on my car. i was told by the dealer that it was my bad driving habits that caused the rear brake failure and not defective parts although the front brakes are defective and chrysler is extending the warranty out of their committment to the customer. i have never had a car have rear brake issues especially at 24,000 miles. i had to pay th additional $50 toward the deductable b/c chrysler was out of brakes and i went over the 24,000 threshold while waiting for them to ship. now i had to pay $267.00 for rear brake pads in a two year old vehicle. i have noticed on the internet that many more people are having this rear brake problem with chrysler as well. | |||

| I have a chrysler town and country 2008 minivan. i have had brake and rotor problems beginning after one year. i had front brakes pads replaced and rotors resurfaced at 11,300 miles. i did not trust chrysler to do it. at 20,740 miles, i had to do replace front brakes and rotors again. at 22,000 miles, the car shook like a carnival ride when i applied brakes. rear rotors were warped and they were replaced along with the caliper slides. on the rear right, the slide pin bolt was damaged. within four months, at 24,700 miles, the rear brakes were replaced again. at 24,947, the ac hose was ruptured. five weeks later, at 26, 869 miles, i had all brakes and rotors replaced again. this time we put in ceramic brake pads and better quality rotors. the service man notified me that the front brake rotor was very overheated with blue scorch marks. he said a possible fire could have happened due to brake caliper or collapsed brake hose issue. we hate this van. it is two years old and has cost us a fortune. chrysler should reimburse us for all the brakes and rotors. | |||

| April 29 2010 car died while driving. all lights on dash lit up tach went to 6k and car seemed to be in neutral. when accelerator was pressed car bucked and shut off. this problem has persisted for 6 weeks. ignition was replaced. cam shaft sensor was replaced. car failed again but differently. wont shift out of 3rd? gear. tach at 6k and speed at 45-50 max. ahve been without my car paying for my own rental for >3weeks. | |||
