TIRES - PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
02/20/201151000
I have had both back tire aluminum inflation valve stems crack. the first one i noticed that the tire continually deflated and had it replaced before my tire lost all of its pressure. the most recent failure resulted in the valve stem cracking and separating completely causing a flat tire. is the metal used in the stem too brittle or weak? i am fortunate that i have not had this failure occur while the vehicle was moving. i know several other people have had the same issue. as a result i had to have the stems replaced with rubber ones so that i do not have the same problem again. i am no longer able to view the tire pressure for the back tires, and that is a bummer because i paid extra to have this system in my car. i am very worried for the safety of my family...what if the valuve was to break while i was driving? the air does not slowly come out, it releases all of the air out of the tire at one time. i do have the old parts, still.
