Defect SummaryCoachmen is recalling 37,293 motorhomes and fifth wheel travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation. the refrigerator may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence SummaryExtended operation of a leaking cooling unit could lead to a fire from gas which might escape.
Corrective SummaryCoachmen is working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 08e032). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or coachmen at 574-825-5821.

TIRES
07/31/2011
We were driving home on highway 81 from yankton, sd into nebraska. we noticed debris flying off the tire & then the hub cap flew off of our 2006 coachmen velocity travel trailer. we stopped immediately & noticed there were flames between the 2 tires on the passenger side. within minutes, the entire camper was engulfed in flames. luckily some people assisted in unhooking the propane tanks and truck from the camper. if not for that, or if we had not noticed the flying debris, this could have turned out to be even worse of a tragedy. it seems odd that a blown tire would cause this to happen.
