Defect SummaryCertain fifth wheel and travel trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator, manufactured by the dometic corporation, may have a defect in certain tubing in the refrigerator which could allow pressurized flammable coolant solution to be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence SummaryThis could result in a fire.
Corrective SummaryCrossroads rv will be working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 06e076). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burner housing and protective thermal fuses free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist you in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or crossroads rv at 1-260-593-2866.

Corrective SummaryOwners/dealers will inspect the furnace exhaust vent and, if not properly installed, the dealers will repair the exhaust vent free of charge. owners are being instructed not to use the furnace until the exhaust vent has been inspected and is properly repaired. the recall began february 2, 2005. owners may contact crossroads at 260-593-2866.

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 crossroads cruiser. the contact stated that the vehicle has a tank in which to store water. the valve was supposed to open and drain the water, however, he discovered that nearly 5-7 gallons of water remained in the tank, even with the valve completely open. the failure caused the water to taste badly and the contact was concerned about a potential safety risk from consuming the water. no other vehicle information is available.

Dometic rm 2652 serial # 236-04099 i have one of the recall refrigerators that has the fatigue crack that already happened. i'm being told by dometic that i have to replace the cooling unit in the refrigerator before they will perform the recall work. a fatigue crack is caused by a improperly designed unit or workmanship so how is it they are being allowed to put a secondary burner guard or what ever it's called to prevent a fire instead of having to fix the real problem ? these cooling units are $600-$900 plus installation and they still have the same problem as the old ones ! my understanding is that there are over 900,000 of these refrigerators affected @ $600 apiece (mine lasted less than 5 yrs) dometic has quite a racket going on. i'm really frustrated that companies can sell a product they know is defective and then tell you well we can sell you a new cooling unit . i'm sure there are more people that have or gone through the same ordeal i'm going through. my response from dometic was these things don't last forever. my response to you is it should last longer than 4 camping seasons (april- october). *tr
