Defect SummaryOn certain transit buses equipped with sure power battery equalizers, p/n 52210 24v/12v 100 amp series 1, the equalizers may experience a failure mode. these equalizers used an inductor with the coils protected by insulation. over time, the inductor insulation may degrade creating a short.
Consequence SummaryThe shorted inductor may cause the battery equalizer to smoke or burn, and possibly result in a fire.
Corrective SummarySure power will notify dc's customers and replace the equalizers free of charge. owners may contact sure power at 1-800-845-6269 ext. 113.
