| I bought a 1999 dodge ram quad cab brand new in milton fl. the truck currently has 76000 miles and the complete dash assy has broken and cracked into a dozen pieces for no apparent reason. this has become a serious air-bag/ fod hazard if it needs to deploy and could cause injury or even death. dealers and manufacturer refuse to recognize and repair the defected dashes. *tr | |||

| I own a 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 which i purchased new in november of 1998. in 2003 the dash board started cracking, and it now looks like a jigsaw puzzle. chrysler said that it was not covered since the warranty was up. every dodge ram from 98-01 that i have looked at has the same problem. i also had the roof of the truck repainted at hill-kelly dodge in pensacola fl in 2004 because it was peeling. the clear coat is now coming off of the roof, and the dealership that painted it said that they could not help me since it was over three years ago. if you could please give me some advice, i would be very grateful. thank you *tr | |||

| Dash covering airbag's deteriorating, seatbelt doesn't rewind, seat back doesn't latch into a secure position. i wonder if the dash will explode on impact and will the shards of plastic cause further injury. during a sudden braking event will the seat back throw everybody in the vehicle into the dash if the seatbelts fail? no injuries yet. can't afford all the repairs. *tr | |||

| I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 the dashboard in it is cracking and falling in leaving wires exposed to the hot sun it is cracked all around passenger air bag i don't know if air bag still works the exposed wiring looks like fire hazard and headlight possible head or tail light failure this vehicle only has 60,400 miles on it still a lot of life left in this truck except for the dash problem. the last dodge i will buy unless they stand behind there product good or bad. *tr | |||

| My dash has 3 cracks in it one from the windshield all the way back, and the others are 1) from the windshield to about 7 back and 2) from the windshield making a large curve about 14 long. both of the two on the passenger side are slowly creeping toward the passenger air bag. there was no actions such as crashes that could have caused this to happen. *nm | |||

| My 1999 dodge ram truck dashboard had shattered/cracked in many locations. i had to replace it at my cost. i was of concern of its interference with my air bag deployment. so i had it replaced. the plastic material used on the dodge trucks dries out and becomes brittle . those saving people within nhtsa would just make some simple observation while stopping at a red light or stopping sign driving to work they would notice the many damaged dodge truck dashboards.*ak | |||

| I have a 1999 dodge 1500 ram truck. at 38,000 miles the dashboard cracked in one place, then it spread all across the dash. i had a full after market warranty but it would not cover it. i called dodge hqs as well as dealers. all told me it was not something they would cover. my only solution was to use super glue and put a carpet dash cover over the ugly mess. *ak | |||

| Several cracks all along dash board from window seal to front of airbag/vent sections, when i showed the dealer who i bought it from, they brushed me off like i was complaining of cosmetic damage. i consider these cracks a manufacturer defect that hold vital components if i or my passengers were ever in a wreck, my vehicle interior was in excellent condition when i bought it from the used lot in october 2001, i can't say the same for the mechanics. the first day i had to return it for the harmonic balancer, then the emerg brake light stayed on, then the abs brake light which lead to replacement of drums,rotors, and calipers. in feb 2003 i had to take it in for windshield wiper motor burn out, and this last month the waterpump went out. can you advise me as to what is normal wear and tear and what parts aren't supposed to have to be replaced on a vehicle that now has 82,000 miles and regular upkeep? and if the sound of air blowing thru loose metal is what my truck should sound like when i accelerate from a normal stop? thank you for your time,amber. *ak | |||

| Rust spots in 1999 dodge ram pickup- service advisor called it rail dust, but won't buff from paint. owners son acknowledges rust in paint. owners son and i talked to owner, he said tha the needs to get a manafacturer's representative in on it . was told by owners son on feb 8 chrysler rep would not offer to replace truck, but have it repainted. this is unacceptable since it's a new truck with 800 miles, 212 of which was on odometer already from dealer . i need help or information because i don't want a new repainted truck. i want a replacement truck . truck is now at dealer pending manafacture representative's decision. i didnt want to put on a lot of miles so told dealer to keep it. help me with this problem. *ak | |||
