| Over a couple of months the dash cracked in multiple places and ended up falling apart completely while driving over railroad tracks. now there is a pile of sharp, brittle, hard, plastic pieces with more falling out each week. if ever in a crash these pieces will fly all over the cab of the truck and be a safety hazard. *tr | |||

| I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 that i've owned 6 years. after about a year the dash started to crack on its own. i progressively got worse to the point that large pieces were falling under the dash frame. i've taken the truck it the dodge dealer several times and they said that it would cost me around $800 to have it replaced. to me this is a safety hazard in that the already loose pieces as well as other that would brake off in a wreck could cause bodily harm, mostly to the face and eyes. *tr | |||

| I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 truck. a few years ago, i noticed that the dash on my truck was cracked. fast forward a few years and it's busted into a dozen or more pieces. i just thought is was just my bad luck until i went to the internet to see about getting a replacement and discovered that virtually every 2001 dodge truck has this same problem, some worse than mine. it appears that despite all the complaints that have been made, chrysler refuses to take responsibility or do anything to rectify the problem. i don't know it this qualifies as a safety issue, but the airbag is inside the dash along with all the wiring, a/c, etc. that is now exposed. perhaps there is nothing that can be done except not buy their poorly made products in the future. *tr | |||

| 1) unknown of what event lead up to this problem 2) the dash board on my 2001 dodge truck has several cracks that have appeared over the las 6 -10 months. i have researched the internet and have found may entries where other people are having the same problem with their truck. the dealerships are telling people that that the dashboard is not a recall item and that nothing can be done about as far as the dealers stand point. as far as i can tell this problem is isolated to just dodge products and they need to be forced to make this right. *tr | |||

| I own a 2001 dodge ram 1500. about a year ago i found a small crack in the dashboard. now my dashboard is completely cracked all over and large pieces are beginning to break off and fall in. i looked into getting it repaired, but the costs were well over $1200. i recently saw a report or wftv channel six in orlando that the dashboard collapses are causing problems with the wiring and electrical systems. i plan on calling the chrysler car line to see if they will replace the dashboard, but they currently do not have plans to recall any of the vehicles.*ak | |||

| 2001 dodge 1500 quad cab i called the daimler chrysler in marshall texas and they told me they have seen a few of the dashboards. i explained it was crumbling. he told me it wouldn't hurt anything as the air bags are bolted in he also stated it was out of warranty. i called the main customer 800 service line that tx dealer gave to me and once again i was told it was out of warranty and they didn't care who i contacted after i talked to them as it was out of warranty. i even told them i would call the better business bureau and they still didn't care. the dashboard has cracks running across the entire board. will it fall? will it cause an accident? i have pictures that i will be sending when i hear from you. *jb *sc | |||
