| I bought my dodge ram 1500 in 2000 brand new actually the truck is 2001 got it one year ahead. if i remember like around 2004 four years after i bought the truck i noticed some cracks on the dashboard then by 2005 the dash was completely gone everything fall down inside, i can even hear the pieces all the time when i am driving. i never wanted to take the pieces out and up to this date most of the dashboard is still inside the dash in pieces. a year ago i noticed that when my ac is on the air keeps shutting down but its not the ac that gets off is the vents that closes, i can even hear when they open back then i start to feel the air blowing again. i don't know if because all the dash pieces are inside on top of the vents and maybe some of the got inside the vents or something. i also bought the cup holder because it fall in pieces as the dash. also the sunglasses compartment door its broken so i don't use it any more because i can close it. i bought a dash cover because the replacement for the dash its very expensive. even the aftermarket one are very expensive. i wish i could have my dash replace, dodge needs to step up on this and fix the problem because i am not the only one, its every single truck out there with the same problem. i hope to hear soon that there's a recall for the dashboards. | |||

| I own a 2001 dodge ram 1500 laramie slt, purchased used in 2004 from the original owner. the dashboard began to crack within the first year i owned the truck. i recently had to have the heater core replaced, which requires removing the dashboard. the dashboard is now full of holes and larger cracks. i believe it poses a danger to me and any passenger in the event of an accident, or the deployment of the passenger airbag would likely cause the dash to do harm to anyone hit by any peice of it. i am told that dodge is aware of the problem and will do nothing about correcting it. | |||

| Dashboard started to crack. dodge will not replace. this has resulted in exposed wiring and not sure if the airbag will work if i am ever in an accident. it has also made the trade in value less than what it should be. this is something that dodge needs to own up to and fix! | |||

| My dodge ram 1500 truck's dashboard started breaking up into pieces and has become worse since 2007. pieces from dash are falling down into the area that houses the speedometer & other electrical compontents that are vital to the functioning of the vechicle plus we are very concerned about the air bags being exposed. every time we go over a bump in the road.....pieces fly off the dashboard & surrounding areas of the dashboard.......my granddaughter was hit by one of these pieces. after checking on computer, i found out that this problem has existed for years on the 2001 dodge ram 1500 pickup, complaints range from california to florida...i am very concerned our safety and the safety of others. please go online and check complaints about this problem | |||

| Two- three years ago years ago i notice a break in my dashboard that break has led to the dashboard falling apart exposing wiring. when the dashboard cave (part of ) in all the gages stop working (speed,temp. gas, ect.,) and the air bag warning light came on. this happen while driving . | |||

| Soon after purchase i noticed cracks appearing in the trucks upper dash, soon the cracks grew more numerous and they started to connect creating complete holes or missing chunks of dash plastic leaving knife like sharp pointed edges. this leaves anyone in the vheicle at risk of a laceration or worse if a collision were to occur and a chunk of plastic became airborne and in contact with vital areas of the body or the body were to impact the dash directly where the pointed edges are. also the missing peices are dropping into the dash electronics and vents creating a possible mechanical problem. | |||

| I have had no trouble out of my 2001 dodge ram 1500 until 2007. thats when the first crack came into being, with a crack i might add. i herd the snap and looked over and a huge crack appeared. it ran straight up and down the middle of the passenger side, more or less cutting the dash in half. well it went all down hill from there. one day in 2010 i rolled down my windows and the wind caught a piece of the dash and flipped it in my face. i ran off the side of the road and nearly wrecked. i was just lucky that there was no road sign at the place i ran off the road, or someone walking there at the time. and here is the kicker, i was on my way to work. at the end of the day when i got off work i had a flat tire. there was a nail in the sidewall that could not be fixed. i had to buy a new tire, [thanks dodge]. i can't touch the dash anymore, the lightest touch now will break more pieces off. and the plastic covers they sell to put on top of the dash is only a short term fix. the dash continues to fall apart under the dash cap causing the cap to warp and not fit right, or not at all. the only way to fix it is with a new dash, which i cant afford at a whooping $500.00 bucks. this is one problem that dodge should step forward to fix because it is a safety issue. | |||

| Over a couple of months the dash cracked in multiple places and ended up falling apart completely while driving over railroad tracks. now there is a pile of sharp, brittle, hard, plastic pieces with more falling out each week. if ever in a crash these pieces will fly all over the cab of the truck and be a safety hazard. | |||

| Cracking of dash was visible much sooner than january 1 2008 but got much worse to the point now that it is caving in and pieces falling out.contacting dodge was a waste of time for me.i was basically told that i could take it to my local dodge dealer to get it repaired at my expense! i am currently looking for a replacement dash. i feel that the safety of my family and myself have to be addressed, who knows where these broken pieces are going and whether or not they will affect the activation of the airbags or may possibly cause other problems depending on where they get wedged.i strongly believe dodge should start an immediate recall to avoid possible human injury! | |||

| The brake line on my 2001 dodge ram 1500 blew out above the gas tank. i've discovered this seems to be a very common problem among owners with similar makes. definitely a safety issue. i'm at just about 160,000 miles. | |||
