| Air conditioning works fine, as long as the vehicle is moving. when stopped at traffic lights or intersections, the a/c gets warm, as if the condenser is not working. when starting up again, it gets cold after a bit of time. searched the internet, and found this is a problem that occurs often, and many said check the fuse #39. on aug. 1, i checked the fuse, and found that the plastic and metal parts of the fuse had melted onto the spot it was plugged into. all of the other fuses seem to be fine, but there is a tiny chunk of metal i cannot remove from the fusebox to plug in another fuse, nor do i want to plug in another fuse, as i don't know why the previous one melted. i am not sure if this is covered in any recalls. also, when i tried to have the truck inspected, it failed for the check engine light, and there are several recalls listed in the possible cause list for the code that registered in the inspection machine. | |||

| I was rear ended at a red light and my dash board sustained multiple fractures. part of the dash board fractured and became airborne in the vehicle. it was the size of an iphone. there was also another part of the dashboard where a hole is present and the dash board is sunken in. very disapointed with the quality and safety issues. photos were fowarded to my attorney. | |||

| The dash has cracked in multiple area's causing sharp edges in the dash. very easy for kids to cut there hands. also if vehicle was involved in a accident the sharp edges would come lose hitting the driver and passengers in the vehicle causing bodily harm. | |||

| Cracks begin to appear in the dashboard in april 2009 just below the windshield and have now began to show up in the main dashboard cap. a large gapping slit near the instrument display appear on july 5, 2012. on july 11, 2012 power was lost to the gauges on the instrument panel which also included the hazards, turning signals, brake lights and one head light. requested electronically through the chrysler/dodge, official website possible recalls and i was contacted via phone 24 hours later with a confirmation that no pending or missed recalls were in place for the truck. when asked if there were any solutions to the complaints of cracked dashboards in the dodge ram 1500 made in 2002, the representative indicated that there were no known complaints listed for the dashboard and provided no resource in better replacement part. scheduled to have vehicle check the week of july 16,2012. | |||

| The dashboard in the 2002 dodge ram 1500 has multiple hairline cracks and pieces are beginning to fall behind the dash. i'm afraid that these pieces could negatively impact the function of the airbags, heating / cooling system, or other electrical components of the vehicle. if there is an accident there could be fragments that break apart and could potentially cause eye damage or severe lacerations. i have found multiple complaints from numerous owners concerning this issue. | |||

| The dashboard of my dodge ram is disintegrating into sharp pointed shards of plastic. the plastic material which makes up the dash has changed in it characteristics so as to become quit brittle. the potential for these shards to become projectiles and/or anything coming in contact with the dash causing the dash to freely break apart into hundreds of knife-like blades and causing injury, is imminent. we have made giant strides in vehicle occupant safety by requiring shatter proof glass, requiring occupants to use seatbelts, etc. . now we are facing other dilemmas where manufacturers have introduced materials in the manufacture of vehicles which may negate those safety progressive innovation government agencies have worked so hard to implement. although my current concern may be preventive in nature i believe any reasonable and prudent person can easily deduce the potential for grave harm which may befall the consumer under the right circumstances. the dodge dashboard represents a clear and present danger to the occupants of these vehicles. | |||

| Crashed dashboard! the vent coverings are no longer present and have fallen into the air ducts. there are large cracks starting from where the dash meets the windshield and extending out to the end of the dash. there are triangular holes where the dash has fallen through. there are roughly 8 large cracks, each having roughly 3 or 4 smaller cracks radiating perpendicular to the main cracks. the cracks are very sharp, and can cause the potential for harm. when the a/c is turned on, there has been pieces of small plastic thrown out of the duct. this is a major hazard, especially when driving. another problem with the cracks and holes is that there is now a change in contrast upon reflection from the windshield, which is very distracting. instead of having a constant tan color being reflected, there is tan with black interruptions. | |||

| Dash is cracking in multiple points near vents and now coming across the top of passenger air bag area. there is so many fine cracks across point near windshield and vents. if air bag was to deploy i feel that shards of dash will be flying within the cab due to the way that the crack is in vicinity of airbag. | |||

| I have found through research of how to fix my dashboard which is now severly cracked that it's caving in, that dodge has known about this problem for years and is not fixing. this is a safety issue as there are now sharp pieces of plastic dash that could hurt myself or passenger in an accident or other circumstances. i was trying to find how to fix my dash but now see dodge is at least reparing some dashes or paying half towards replacing the dash. i should not have to pay to fix this problem if dodge is now starting to fix or at least address the issue. i currently have my 2002 dodge ram 1500, a 2004 chrysler town and country and a 2008 dodge grand caravan and have bought at least two dozen chrysler products and feel i have been a staunch supporter of chrysler, even through the hard times they have had. i feel this type of loyalty i have show should be rewarded with acknowledgement ond repair of my dash. i am buying a new car next year and have started looking at other makes due to some of the quality problems i am encountering on all 3 of my current chryslers but the dashboard makes me the most upset because it has been known and not fixed for loayl customers like me or even new customers so that they will return and buy other chrysler products in the future. fix this dashboard problem now! it's the right way to do business with people/customers!! | |||

| For two years my dashboard has been crack in my 2002 dodge ram pick up truck. within the last two weeks the dash board is falling apart. i went online to see how much does a dash board cost and i find out about thousands of dodge ram owners with the same problem which ended up in electrical problems. i will like to know what can be done about it. i hate to keep driving the truck and end up in an accident. this is really a safety hazard to say the least and nothing has been done about it. | |||

| Dashboard on 2002 dodge ram has cracked from front to back. after reading all complaints on this problem, i believe something (recall) needs to be done. local dealership stated a cost of $2,550 to fix. afraid that this will cause electrical problems as has so many of the complaints read so far. it would be nice to see the government make dodge step up and pay for the cheap parts they put in their vehicles. got a suggestion. since the government owns dodge, why don't you put some of my tax dollars towards fixing my truck. i know i can't afford $2,550. | |||
