| The dash has started to crack, and the latest one is right above the passenger air bag. my concern is what would happen in the event of a air bag deployment if a big shard of plastic from the dash were to fall in front of the air bag during deployment. what would happen to the front passenger, or my young kids sitting in the back seat? i have also found reports of owners reporting wiring problems due to parts of the dash falling down. | |||

| Cracked dash i opened the door to my truck one morning and looked up at my dashboard and there was a crack all the way across it. i have researched this and it appears that this is a factory defect and almost all dodge ram trucks have this problem. i feel that this should be taken care of by the manufacturer. | |||

| My 2003 dodge ram 1500's dashboard is completly shattered without and force to it. it started cracking back in 09 and is now becoming sharp edged peices all over my car. in the case of an accident these sharp peices could easily do some damage to a sensitive part, such as a persons eye. if this is to happen to me, or any of the other of 1000's of people with this issue, there will be lawsuits out the ass for lack of recall. there is something obviously wrong with the dashboard in these trucks, and they need to be fixed. | |||

| I have experienced a serious heating problem with this vehicle. the blend doors go bad in the heating system which in turn cause the windshield to ice over and which produces serious visiblilty problems. | |||

| Severe cracking of dashboard. cracking is so bad that pieces are falling into/inside the dash. these exposed edges are extremely sharp, posing a severe laceration hazard. | |||

| Dasboard cracking - vehicle is not even 10 yrs. old yet. handle inside that you would grab to help yourself in has cracked and is not safe to use. my wife almost fell out of the vehicle when this handle cracked and came loose from the inside of the truck. dashboard cracks match exactly what i have viewed on-line while investigating other owners issues with this vehicle with same problem. obviously a common problem with this make (dodge) of vehicle. cannot find any info on any recall being issued. i am worried if an air bag deployed that the dash would become flying shrapnel. | |||

| The dashboard on my 2003 dodge ram 1500 has multiple cracks in it. the most concerning crack is located above the passenger airbag. also the assist handle on the driver side has been replaced and has broken again. the part is expensive and i should not have to pay to replace this faulty piece again. consequently, i have had to discontinue the use of the assist handle. i am only 5'2 and it is difficult for me to maneuver in and out of the vehicle safely without the grab handle. the cracks began in 2008 and have been multiplying since then. i will be driving down the street and hear a crack and there is another crack in the dash. the vent areas have all fallen through into the heating/cooling compartments causing rattling. | |||

| The dash on my 2003 dodge ram 1500 is cracked in several places and the assist handle on the driver side a post fell off. i purchased a new handle but the insert that the screw goes into is damaged and loose so only the top screw is holding it in place. i am dis-abled and need the handle to get in or out of the vehicle safely. i'm concerned that the passenger side airbag will not deploy correctly because of the large crack over the glovebox, also a piece of the dash has fallen into the ventilation shaft and is lodged stopping air flow and rattling noisily. the dealer where i purchased the vehicle is currently out of business. this is terribly discerning and certainly not what you would expect from such an expensive product. these problems started in the fall of 2008. | |||

| I have dodge ram 1500 03 truck and approx. in dec of 2008 i noticed a small crack in dash - thought it was my problem and due to living in south florida- the crack became 2 then 3 them more getting worse as time went on- i found that friends and other people where having similar problem. ii then found out about the news story done by local south florida news stations which showed the problem being a defect and leading to accidents caused by lighting failures and electrical problems resulting from the cracks and broken dashboards. the problem now is out of control with big cracks and hole throughout the dash- this is not a cosmetic issue - the plactic pieces are sharp and can injure somebody and eventually can damage the electric that runs underneath the dash. i reported it to dodge who then gave a case number and took pictures and immediately offered to cover half the cost to replace- i do not find this suffiecient - the fact that in other parts of the state dealers have replaced this problem free of charge and their admittance and response to cover half of the cost is proof enough that dodge is well aware of this probem. it is ludicrous to charge for repair for something that is potentially a lethal threat due to accident - when there is no permanent repair - there is no replacement part that has been shown to date that really fixes the problem- it is still a crapshoot whether it happens again after replacement since the dash is a defect to begin with. | |||

| Ii own a 2003 dodge ram 1500,and my complaint is my dashboard is starting to fall apart.my issue is that the parts that are breaking off may cause an electrical short,due to the plastic falling into my electrical compartment. i am also concern it may even spark an electrical fire while i'm driving. so if you would please take this problem into consideration and investigate,because i do think it is a dodge problem not wear and tear. thank you very much for your time. | |||
