My pickup truck is equipped with diesel engine. the engine driven vacuum pump allowed engine oil into the vacuum hoses due to the absence of an internal check valve. the oil did cause the hose to deteriorate and partially collapse, reducing the vacuum supply to the brake booster. chrysler stated that my pu was not covered by this problem although i had repeated brake failures until the vaccum hose was replaced and a check valve installed. i've not experienced brake failure since the vaccum hose was replaced and the check valve installed.

When driving with the camper hitched to the vehicle the engine will completely shut down or stall, which could result in a collision. *ak
