2006 2500 dodge 4x4 mega cab (stock) no lift. our dodge has started to experience a violent wobble at certain highway speeds when hitting a bump/hole. it is very dangerous as the vehicle is out of control when this occurs, causing dangerous conditions for me and anyone driving close to me. the wobble is so bad there is no way to gain control of the vehicle until you bring it to a complete stop. we have replaced bushings, track bar, steering damper twice, rotated/balanced tires. i called earnhardt dodge in chandler, az and told them about my problem. they said they are very aware of the incidious issue and have many customers complaining. this is something dodge should be addressing and recall notices should be published immediately if dodge is aware of this problem and know how to fix it.

At 70 mph road speed, when encountering a pot hole or bridge expansion joint, the front wheels and steering components begin to shake and wobble violently, nearly jerking the steering wheel out of my hands. had i not had both hands on the wheel at the time, a loss of vehicle control might have occured. while braking and trying to maintain control of the vehicle, at aproximatly 25 mph the violent shakeing suddenly stopped. within 2 miles after resuming a 70 mph speed the same thing happened when crossing the next bridge expansion joint. again, when slowing to 25 mph, the shakeing stopped. i have since checked several sources and found this appears to be a common problem on ram 2500 diesel powered trucks. several after market companies are selling products which they claim will prevent this so called death wobble after checking with a local dodge heavy duty truck dealer they claim they are not aware of such a problem ever occuring. i believe that dodge is aware of this problem, but since no one has been killed or injured yet, they are reluctant to delve into the problem for a solution, or acknowledge that it even exists.

While traveling at highway speeds, hitting a small bump / pothole causes violent shaking of the front end. shaking stops only after the vehicle is slowed below 25 mph. keeping control of the vehicle during shaking is very difficult. have taken the vehicle to three different mechanics & dealer with no problems found.

Was driving on interstate at 65mph and hit a small bump and the front end of truck (2006 dodge ram 2500) started to shake violently up and down and from side to side. i had to immediately pull to right lane and brake to get off the road (luckily no car to the side of me at the time of the incident). once vehicle slowed down to approxmiately 30 mph the shaking stopped. i have looked this up online and found many complaints for the same problem - called the death wobble. this should be taken very seriously and chrysler should be held responsible to make the fix. i did not have my children in the truck at the time of this incident, but it is used as a family vehicle. i called the dodge dealer and of course they have never heard of this problem - find this very hard to believe. i then called the truck center where we purchased the vehicle (not affiliated with chrysler) - they said that they have had many customers complain of the same problem with this make/model. there was not a crash this time, but there very well could have been. *tr

Driving along a busy interstate at 65mph, after going over a small bump in the road the steering became so violent and uncontrollable. later read it is known as the dodge death wobble. seems it ha happened to more than just this dodge owner on a stock truck. why hasn't there been a recall, is chrysler waiting for someone to die before they react? why be reactive when you can be proactive with all the complaints that have already been noted. *tr

My 2006 dodge ram 2500 had bad tie rods, track bar and steering damper with less than 36000 miles on it. at the point it became apparent, the truck became very unstable and hard to keep on the road. i took it to modica brothers in my town to have it fixed because any dealerships were at least an hour from me and i felt i needed my vehicle fixed as soon as possible. after getting the truck repaired it was brought to my attention that the truck was still covered under warranty. i have contacted dodge concerning this and was denied coverage because i did not have the truck towed and go to a dodge dealership to have the truck repaired. *tr
