Defect SummaryVehicle description: light duty passenger minivans with remote release. this is not a safety recall. there has been no determination that a safety defect exists with the minivan latches. chrysler is conducting a service campaign to replace the liftgate latch assembly of the affected minivans. in a collision, the rear liftgate latch assembly could open.
Consequence SummaryIf the liftgate latch opens, occupants can be ejected resulting in significantly increased risk of injury or death.
Corrective SummaryChrysler dealers will replace the liftgate latch with a new stronger latch assembly without charge. chrysler began notifying owners of these vehicles in march 1996.

 Windshield wipers are stuck in a up position, and the fluid within the windshield wiper fluid reservoir isn't working. also, door locks aren't working , and passenger door only opens from the inside. *ak

 Vehicle was struck by a vehicle out of control and flipped twice. during the crash owner's 2 children were ejected from vehicle through the rear door which opened on impact. the built in child seat clip opened allowing 3 year old child to be ejected from vehicle. air bag also failed to deploy.

 Vehicle was involved in a minor collision , and the liftgate latch failed, causing the rear door to fly open, shattering the window. vehicle was repaired under recall (95i-001.002). *ak
