| When brakes were applied under normal stopping conditions, abs system activated, resulting in extended stopping distance. manufacturer has been notified. owner has deactivated abs sensor. *ak consumer stated that on both front cv joints there is a tone wheel to provide wheel rotation into the abs, both wheels have cracked between teeth providing false wheel rotation into abs, consumer believes this confuses the abs resulting in loss of braking power, the vehicle suddenly releases the brakes causing a greatly increased stopping distance, it appears that the tone wheel material was too thin resulting in the cracks from the press-fit mounting to the cv joints, consumer stated it is not possible to replace the tone wheels without replacing the entire axle as the manufacturer will not provide the parts.*jb | |||
