 Tl- the contact owns a 2008 dodge caravan. the contact stated that after starting the ignition, the vehicle would make a loud sound and the electronic throttle control warning lamp illuminated. the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who diagnosed that the electronic throttle control was defective and needed to be serviced. the vehicle was serviced however, the remedy failed to repair the problem. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance. the vehicle was not further repaired. the failure mileage was 45,000 and the current mileage was 97,280. kmj

 Tl* the contact owns a 2008 dodge caravan. the contact was driving 5 mph with the brakes applied when the vehicle suddenly accelerated and there was an abnormal increase in engine rpms. the contact was able to maintain control of the vehicle by engaging the emergency brake and shifting to park. the vehicle was towed to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure and current mileage was 50,500.

 When coming down an incline with the cruise control set, the motor begins to rev accessively within rpm redline and the speed of the vehicle starts to drop. this problem can only be corrected by pulling off the road and turning the vehicle off. the vehicle has been to two different dealerships, and the problem was reported to the better business bureau. people who work at the dealership have commented that they have the same problem with their 2008 dodge caravan as well, but dodge has said it is acceptable. *tr

 2008 dodge grand caravan. consumer states when he uses cruise control at highway speeds or any speed at 35 mph the vehicle starts to downgrade and downshift three speed ranges and cause excessive loss of speed and then the engine's rpm would rise to 5000 rpm. *tgw the consumer stated when the incident happened, he was unable to shut off the cruise control or apply the brakes to bring the vehicle to a stop. the vehicle would continue to move. the dealer informed the consumer the problem was a characteristic of the vehicle due to software problems. *jb
