| Went to the store and got into the car and the gear shift want come out of park. i had to have the car towed to the house because of this problem. i looked it up and it seems to be a common problem with the dodge chargers. | |||

| I turned my ignition key to start the vehicle and heard an explosion in the rear of the vehicle. i opened my trunk with the key because the vehicle lost all electrical power. i discovered that the battery had exploded and sprayed battery acid in the trunk area. the trunk was filled with white smoke and smelled like chemicals. my property inside the passenger compartment also had a strong chemical odor to it. after looking at the battery, it appeared to have exploded from the rear and the main thing that kept it from sending acid soaked debris was the nylon strap that holds the battery in place. i am worried that the entire interior of my vehicle is now coated with acid fumes/powder from the explosion. i spoke with huntington beach dodge and they said i was responsible for all costs of repairs because the battery only has a 12 month/12k mile warranty. i understand that a battery goes dead, but i do not understand a battery exploding! my 2 children were not in the back seat at the time of the explosion, but what could have been the injury to my kids if they were there? battery acid in the face and eyes, acid soaked debis striking them or hearing loss from the explosion? i dont feel comfortable with driving the vehicle or having my children in it. mcpeek dodge in anaheim replaced the battery and cleaned the trunk at a cost of $250.00 (20% discount they said), but stated that they were unable to determine the reason for the incident | |||

| I pulled over on the side of the road to pick up something that had fallen into the floor and put my car in park. the when i started to put the car back in drive the gear shift was locked and would not move. there was no indication that this was about to happen. i was out on the side of the road alone and my car wouldn't go into drive or even leave park. since it was sunday and dodge dealers are closed. its hot outside so i had to call someone that works on automobiles. they came out and found that the safety neutral switch which is made of plastic parts mainly was broken/no longer working. i needed to move my car, so he took all these pieces out of the shifter so that i could drive the car home, and to the dealer to be fixed. the car was in park i know, but i couldn't been in a place that i needed to rely on my car moving for my safety or my little girls safety and it give no warning. this thing just locked into park, and you are stuck where ever it may be, a safe place or unsafe place. | |||

| On feb. 27th, 2012, i started my car in an attempt to drive to work. the car started up fine. i tried to shift from the park position to reverse, but the car would not shift into any other gear - it was stuck on park. i followed the instructions in the manual which advised to press the override switch located in the compartment near the shifter. this did not work. instead, i had to tow my car to the nearest auto repair shop and was presented with a bill of $456 for parts and labor to repair the shifter. apparently, this is happening with many dodge chargers, yet a recall on this has not been issued. i did some research and there is a forum where people who have experienced this issue complain of the same things. this needs to be addressed immediately and dodge needs to be held responsible. thank you! http://www.carcomplaints.com/dodge/charger/2007/accessories-interior/gear_shift_stuck.shtml | |||

| The problem started when i bought it brand new and kept bringing back to the dealer. failure to find problem. notice a lot of other customers having the same problem. brought car to an expert and found the suspension which includes shocks, struts, brakes etc. were not the right part for this model. expert changed necessary parts and have not had a problem there after. expert did research and dealer wanted to know what he did to fix it and he would not comply. they should do the research and fix the problem. i hope everyone files a complaint and i would tell dodge they fix it or i will file a defect lawsuit for complete refund of a $42,000 car plus inconvenience. | |||

| My car was recalled for the cooling fans letting my car overheat. the dealer replaces the fans and the asks if i want him to fix my overheating issue. i thought that was why my cooling fans were the issue. it stopped overheating for a month maybe at most the i had to have a new radiator, t-stat, and water pump. within a couple weeks on my way to my doctor the temperature guage dropped to 140 and died. i started it up and it has a quick knocking noise that seem to tick too quickly toto be a rod plus the car doesn't die. i turned it off after hearing the knocking and had it towed home. now my brother is letting me drive his car and mine is a yard ornament. | |||

| I have a 2006 dodge charger. when i first bought it, i had to take it back to the dealer 13 separate times for issues. they were never resolved fully. the dealer actually broke the window controls on the drivers side in front of me, and tried to tell me it was already like that.... luckily, he was seen, and was dealt with. the newest issue, which i see via online research a lot of people are having is the shift kit. the park lock mechanism broke, and i could not get it out of park. we've removed the console, and every day, i have to push the broken piece of plastic down in order to get the car in gear. the dealer wants $450 to fix this, and i will not pay it. hundreds of complaints have been filed. no action has been taken. the piece that broke is a pathetic bright pink piece of plastic that is as cheap as a toy from the dollar store, and i am not exaggerating. it's pathetic. it's unsafe, it's not right, and something needs to be done. asap. i cannot believe that no one has issued a recall or safety call on this. there are several very reputable websites that sell the cheap piece that | |||

| I have taken my car to the dealership 5 times to have issues fixed. each time i got the car back, it was worse. i had 13 issues originally with the car. i ended up suing, and got a very small settlement- dodge refused to cooperate. i still have each and every problem, and do not know what else to do. my car dies while in reverse, the brakes malfunction constantly, the window panel remains broken due to their inept work, the radio cuts off, the dash lights die @ night, etc. i would truly appreciate it if someone could actually help me. i do not know what else to do. i love my car dearly, but something needs to be done. the date i put as date of incident is when this all started. *tr | |||

| I have a 2006 dodge charger and noticed on the recall stats i get sent on the e-mail that several others have had trouble with their chargers hesitating or stalling on take off. i have had the hesitation every since i bought the car in march of 2006. i had it into the shop once in midland, texas where i bought the car right after i bought it and they told me that it was how that particular car did and it was nothing to worry about. seems like it may be a problem after all. i have right at 30,000 miles on the car now. it has continued to happen almost every time i accelerate. sometimes it is worse than others. *tr | |||
