My 2007 dodge charger was rendered inoperable when the engine cooling fan blades separated unexpectedly, causing severe damage to the radiator. this incident ultimately resulted in engine failure. when this incident was reported to the chrysler group, the case manager was informed of a recall that addressed this same issue. please refer to customer satisfaction notification l08 engine cooling fans. this notification cautions owners that the electrically powered radiator cooling fans on about 52,000 of the referenced vehicles (incl. 2007 dodge charger) may separate during fan operation and cause damage to the radiator. this exact failure occurred to my vehicle costing me in excess of $2000 but the chrysler group refused to offer assistance due to the fact that my vin fell outside of the range to the vins included in the recall and that my vehicle was out of warranty. i request that a the existing recall be expanded to all of the vehicles types listed within the 2006-2008 timeframe instead of limiting to the 52,000 estimated in the notification. *tr

I was driving home along with my wife from running errands when my vehicle shut down while driving at 45mphs per hour. i called aaa to come and tow my vehicle. they did just that and the service-contracted towing company for aaa dropped my dodge charger rt off to the auto repair shop that i'm accustomed to going. the mechanic told me that the battery was drained heavily from the engine problem. so he took out the old battery i had and put in a new battery. once he did that he tried to get the dodge charger rt to start but there was no luck. but eventually some electrical power was restored to a level in order for a diagnostic test to be performed. once this mechanic completed the diagnostic test he told me that the codes he received are identical to the recall problems associated with the 2007 model of the dodge charger rt. he told me that the 2007 model for this vehicle had the most recall problems for the issue that i experienced which were engine problems. he said that the engine problems were the second most recalled issue after the transmission problems for this vehicle. he told me that i needed to investigate about getting a recall complaint made for this vehicle with the manufacturer (dodge), because the engine problem justified the same recall issues that previous owners had with the model and year of this vehicle. please help me because i was told that the manufacturer warranty expired. *tr

I have a 2007 dodge charger that i have purchased used just 8 months ago. i have not even driven 6000 miles in this car and it has a bad lifter ticking in the engine. it will cost in the neighborhood of $1200.00 to repair. on the dodge forums i have seen multiple people complaining of the very same issue. they have all called dodge as i have as well and the answer was the very same. can't help you sorry for your luck! i can't believe that there has not been a recall on these chargers as it seems to be a problem across the board with this model car. i am furious that they will not help and stand behind their products. i will never buy another dodge vehichle or recommend one ever. i have spent a fair amount of money for what i thought was a good brand american vehichle and now here we are with another headache car with engine problems and no help in sight!

When i first bought the car in may 2007, my car's engine shut off without warning on the highway. i immediately put the car in neutral and it started up and didn't have the problem again. i did report it to the dealership during my second oil change. they said that since it has not happened again that it shouldn't be anything to worry about. now, at about 95,000 miles its been happening more frequently, about twice a day. no warning lights come on. the engine just shuts off. i took it to the dealership and they ran a diagnostic computer test and nothing came up. we also went for a test drive, but it did not happen when the technician was with me. i feel that i will eventually get into an accident. our family relies on this car and i am worried that something horrible could happen. i have visited different forums and others have had the same problem. i feel that this is a defect due to the fact that others have had the same problem. i have also seen complaints on this site reporting the same problem. i don't have a choice but to use this car, but also feel that it is extremely dangerous. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 dodge charger. while driving between 10-40 mph, the engine shut off without warning. the vehicle has been to the dealer a total of six times for this failure. the dealer replaced all the coils for each cylinder, which temporarily repaired the failure. five months later, the vehicle began to shut off again. the contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and they installed a co-pilot to monitor what happens in the vehicle. the co-pilot registered an issue, but the dealer could not locate the failure with the vehicle. currently, the vehicle is at the dealer for repairs. the contact feels that the vehicle is unsafe to drive because it shut offs without warning, which could cause a crash. the current mileage was 5,600 and failure mileage was 1,000.

Pebbles or debris has entered the lower cooling valance on my 2007 dodge charger is to wide, which allows any and all debris to damage the air conditioner condenser. which dodge does not cover or recognize as a design flaw. the a/c condenser is exposed to any and all objects coming through that particular area. the 3 lbs of freon released to the atmosphere, which when the car is in motion the freon will go through engine compartment and eventually end up in the passenger area. freon is a oxygen displacement type gas which can cause sickness, vomiting, hypoxio and eventually suffocation. this is a possible safety hazard. freon 134a also expels a toxic gas if exposed to temps above 452f which catalytic converters reach temps above 500f. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 dodge charger. on november 1, 2006, the vehicle was serviced for a basic oil change and filter at 3,600 miles. on january 2, 2007, the vehicle was taken to the dealer for basic maintenance, in which the contact requested a tire rotation because the tires were wearing very quickly. he was informed that the tires were rotated, balanced, and that the oil was changed. two months later, the contact noticed that the tires continued to wear very quickly and the brakes were not stopping the vehicle properly. he went to a local tire store and was informed that the tires were placed on the vehicle incorrectly and that two different sized tires should have been installed. the contact returned to the dealer and they were supposed to provide new tires and brakes. they provided the tires and new front brakes, but no rear brakes. the dealer also failed to repair a rattling noise in the fan under the hood; however, they did not. currently, the brakes lock sometimes and the fan still makes a noise as if leaves and sticks are under the hood. the contact has a 100,000 mile warranty, but was advised to take his vehicle to another dealer. the powertrain was unknown. the current mileage was 32,000 and failure mileage was 10,044. updated 01-16-08. *kb updated *jb

Engine sputters while idle. i change the oil every 2500-3000 miles, along with engine air filter and spark plug change at 36,000. while idle, once in a while the engine will sputter. took it to the dealership and they could not duplicate (cnd) the problem, therefore they could not fix the problem, however they asked if i needed an oil change. i loved the rt when i first purchased it. now! i would not recommend anyone to purchase it. engine sputters, side window is scratched due to mechanism, rotor are warped, and of course the shifter stuck in park, and the abs light is now. all of which chrysler will not acknowledge for my vin, but have a recall on others. how many people need to file a complaint? let us continue to submit our complaints and hopefully no one will be injured. and maybe chrysler will pay for their problems. starting to hate my hot red rt!

I had just left my residence to travel to work in my 2007 dodge charger, 2.7l v6, i had made it 6 miles away from my house when my engine blew. the temp gage never showed there was any kind of overheating problem. the check oil light came on for a few seconds and turned off. a few minutes later it came on again and puff of white smoke came out from under the hood and the motor seized. from the research i have done on the internet i have found that the 2.7 liter dodge/chrysler motor has had a lot of problems with oil sludge issues that would cause the engine to seize. so far chrysler has not taken any responsibility for this major problem with the 2.7l engine. the bottom end of the motor has to be rebuilt or replaced to correct this problem. at this point the warranty company is blaming me for the mechanical failure of the oil filter seal on the engine. *tr
