| 07 r/t charger going home travelling 20 miles an hour on country road i hear a warning light go on. the temperature guage light is on and its past red. the engine light and throttle control valve also go on. i am about 1 mile from my house so i drive around 5 mph to get to the house. 50 yards away the temperature needle goes all the way to cold. i started to think its electrical. i pull in my driveway and check fluids. all are fine. husband takes his car and goes and buys a thermostat thinking thats it, it wasn't. we noticed antifreeze at that point leaking. when looking for leak he noticed that the fan assembly blade was shattered on one side and that it had dug into the radiator. so again he goes back to the store to purchase a fan assembly and installs it. it starts fine, takes it for a 30 mile test drive and on the way home it stalls in the middle of the road. he finally gets it home, tries to start it again and now its making a grinding noise. he cuts engine off, checks for other problems, tries to start again but this time its a loud knocking. we call tow truck, tow it to dealership and am told that it needs new engine and the cost is $8000 and said manufacturer warranty doesn't cover it even tough to me it seems like a default in manufacturing. after researching furthur i noticed there are a lot of complaints for both problems, the fan assembly and the engine blowing a main seal. just way too coincidental they happened back to back. will someone please help me and others with these problems and dodge not taking responsibility. god forbid if it would have stalled on me while i was on the highway. now i have no car, i cant get to work, i am in the national guard and can't make it to drill this weekend, if something isn't done soon i will lose everything if i can't make it to work. i live way out in the country so impossible to catch a bus ride. please help!!!!!! | |||

| My engine coolant has been leaking and caused my car to over heat since it wasnt noticed. no steam came out of the car to alert me that it was running hot while driving. my car just automatically shut down and would not crank back up. once looking under the hood i saw there was no coolant and how it had been leaking around the valve. i replaced the coolant then went into have my car serviced every 3 mths as usual. the mechanic tells me that hes noticed several chargers with the same coolant leak in the valves. this sounds like a defect to me. | |||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2007 dodge charger awd. while driving approximately 10 mph leaving a toll booth the vehicle stalled. he lost of all power to the vehicle. he coasted to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle. the vehicle started as normal. the failure had happen approximately a dozen times. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer repaired a cable wire to the wheel well. the failure continued and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. the dealer was unable to duplicated the failure. the failure continued and the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 100,000 and the current mileage was 103,000. vwb | |||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2007 dodge charger awd. while driving approximately 30 mph she heard a knocking noise coming from the engine. she took the vehicle to a local mechanic and he advised her that the vehicle had no oil on the dip stick. the mechanic added 4 quarters of oil to the vehicle. she stated she had a oil change at approximately 43,000 and this happen at 44,500. the vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer advised her that the teflon pistons consumes a large amount of oil and this was normal. the dealer did not find a failure with the vehicle. the contact stated she checks the oil daily. the failure mileage was 44,500 and the current mileage was 44,925. vwb | |||

| My daughter had warped rotors replaced by local mechanic and informed she needed rack and pinion replaced. alsocontrol arm and tie rod end. an extra $1100 on top of rotor costs. is this car safe for her and her two year old son to be on the highways with ? dodge should be ashamed. submitted by concerned father/grandpa. hope this saves a life. | |||

| 2007 dodge charger r/t awd, brake squealing and unacceptable rotor wear since 9000 miles on the vehicle. the dealership just tells me it's from the heat, and there is nothing that can be done. they resurfaced rotors at 20k miles and it went away for a month or so. it happens around 130 times per 140 mile commute. ( at least). i have been in situations where my brakes feel like they are not going to stop my vehicle at all. there is a serious defect in these brake systems, i know that i am definitely not the only one to complain. *tr | |||
