| There are several trucks with the same problem as mine on two separate auto lots in louisiana, in which the rt. rear wheel protrudes out further than the other three by 1 to 1/2 inches. daimler's service representative inspected mine and said it was safe to drive. i want to make absolutely sure that it is for me as well as anyone else that purchases this vehicle. they did find the rear springs on mine to be defective, and replaced them. my brakes failed after this incident. i was told that it was probably caused by the replacement of the springs in that something was overlooked at the service department. i am interested in making sure this is not caused do to the rt rear wheel not aligning correctly, and could this cause any safety problems in towing heavy loads in the bed. *ak | |||

| Consumer took the vehicle to dealer for nhtsa recall 04v596000 concerning ball joint replacement. after retrieving the vehicle and arriving home the driver's side front rim cracked, and the tire was ruined. consumer was told that lugs: nuts were placed on too tightly. the dealer denied that any ting was wrong. *ak | |||

| On 06/22/01, the rear wheel of our dodge dakota quad cab came off the truck while towing a horse trailer. after it was towed to sunset chrystler dealership in grenada, ms, they turned in to the warranty that the truck had been wrecked and that is why the wheel came off. since then we fixed the rear wheel by replacing the lug bolts and nuts with some that are not a dodge product. we found out at the time that you can not order the rear lug bolts for the dodge dakota qeadcab. we are now having problems with the other tires on the vehicle doing the same thing. the lug bolts are coming loose and requiring tightening almost daily. a mechanic at applewhite's garage in winona, ms looked at them and said that there is a shim behind the rim on each lug bolt. we can not find anyone that knows what or why these are on the lug bolts. this is a potentially hazarradous problem. | |||

| Lugs nuts are defective. when the vehicle is taken for tire rotation nuts have to be replaced. please provide further details.*ak not only the nuts have to be replaced, the bolts holding the tires have cracked 10 out of 12 times and broke on the rear tires. nlm | |||
