Car repaired numerous times on brakes, transfer case and mostly transmission. keep fixing seal leaks but refuse to search for source of problem. numerous transmission leaks, transfer case leaks and brakes squeal even after repair. been in shop 10 times for reasons above. supposedly dealer states repaired correctly each time. my car is now out of warranty and still conflicting with dealer about it. also contacted chrysler with no resolution.*ak
POWER TRAIN - AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)

First the car would die out at any given time. would be driving around with children and wife on freeway or busy street and all power would just go out. when the vehicle would turn off the odometer would say no bus and checked engine light would come on. took dodge durago to local dealer ship to get checked out and they couldn't find the problem wouldn't show up on there computers. its consequences could be that a lady or elder person could be driving a dodge durango and this happens to them well you lose all power of the vehicle and power steering and brakes. what if they cant control this they could get into a wreck and die or hurt other people.when this happend to my wife she was on the freeway with my 2 children in the car.i have read multiple forums with this same complaint with the 99 dodge durango and dodge acts like nothing is wrong i guess its going to take a major lawsuit for them to open there eyes. (3)well i purchased a rebuilt power control module (pcm)or(ecm)and fixed the problem right away.you just got to find a buisness to rebuild it for you and then have it flashed.it is something that is very easily to be replaced and could save a bunch of lives.thank you

1999 dodge durango shuts off while driving. cannot duplicate problem at dealership, replaced non-defective parts, now about to replace the pcm to see if that is the problem. because of this defect in this car, i have almost been hit by a semi as well as another car because it stops in mid-traffic and causes near-misses. i have spent quite a bit of time online and see that numerous people have had the same exact issue and dodge has done nothing to recall. i am looking into starting a class action lawsuit against dodge here out of denver. my life is too important, and as many complaints as there have been, this should have been taken care of a long time ago! the car seems to stall when it is hot out, i just replaced the crankshaft sensor...don't bother...it didn't work! last break down was yesterday. called dodge and they can't help me unless they have dodge people diagnose the problem...problem is you can't duplicate it in the shop!*ak
POWER TRAIN - DRIVELINE - CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINT

Annual ma state inspection revealed right upper ball joint and both lower ball joints were loose so all were replaced on 12/3/04 along with left front hub bearing...additional problems prior to this include replacement of serpentine belt 11/17/03...replacement of coolant temp sensor, thermostat and thermostat gasket, and belt tensioner 2/23/04...replacement of right front hub bearing 5/04...replacement of front rotors, left front cv axle, left inner tie rod, rear shocks, output speed sensor, and new tire due to gouging of inner tire wall by front end parts 8/17/04. consumer has paid for all repairs done by an independent mechanic. consumer wants problems documented given recent media reports associated with this vehicle. consumer wants to see recall issued for several of these safety failures and wants reimbursement from manufacturer for expenses incurred. *jb
