I purchased my 2002 durango in august 2007 with under 74k miles on it. about 6 months later, my husband and i found that the passenger front window would not respond to the master control or the passenger's control. the dealer couldn't get it to happen again. we worried about it at the time, having newly moved to oregon where winters are usually very rainy. thankfully, we haven't had any further trouble. *tr

My 2002 dodge durango purchase new in feb. 2002, and had driven for about 3 1/2 years the passenger windows fail to work. the master control is the only way that i can open the windows. now on occasion the window will intermittently open and close using the individual switches but it is very seldom have talked to several other owners of these durangos and they have been having the same problem, would like to know if this is a manufacture defect or is it possible that just suddenly all my passenger window broke at the same time. other than that i have been very satisfied with the service of the vehicle. i have had it since i purchased it in 2002 and it has only 35,000 miles on it. it doesn't seem that a vehicle with that little use would have a problem of this sort. thanks, diane *tr

Purchased a used 2002 dodge durango with 70k miles. vehicle was under limited warranty. drivers power window fell into the door at highway speed, nearly causing an accident just from the shock. went to dealership, was told it was an electrical issue, so not under warranty. took it to a private mechanic, $500 to replace the regulator. a few months later, passenger side fails, took it to a different dealership, was told it was a plastic pulley that failed, would have been under warranty, but my warranty just expired. another $500. driver side failed again a few months later, started calling dodge and complaining, nothing they could do they said. learned how to replace myself, 3 times drivers side rear regulator, 2 times passenger rear regulator, 3 times drivers front, 2 times passenger front. now three are broken again, the replacement part is the same plastic junk. i am tired of replacing them. dodge has told me that it has been to long and they will not be able to assist me, but can sell me the parts...again.. i have been told that cold weather, slamming the doors, over use of windows, could all be contributing issues. in other words, human error. this is not the case in my garaged full leather showroom quality vehicle. google dodge window regulators, you will find pages of complaints. wish i would have bought a car that doesnt need to be at 86 degrees constantly, that could go down a bumpy road, that i could roll down the windows more than twice a day (because that is what they recommend), could shut the doors without fear of slamming them, didnt have tape on the windows to hold them up, could go through a drive through with my door closed, and didnt cost me over $3000 in window parts. this is a safety issue as you will find if your going down the highway and your window instantly falls into your door. shame on dodge for not making this issue right. *tr
