| Driving down the road at normal highway speeds, if the rear windows are rolled down the car begins to shake violently to the point where the doors feel as if they are going to be pulled off. the first time this happened was about 1 mth after i bought the car while driving down the road, it took me by surprise and i was almost in an accident because of its severity. i have contacted dodge and nothing is being done about it. *tr | |||

| Dt: the contact owns a 2004 dodge durango. the contact states that there is a blind spot on the driver's side and passenger side of the vehicle. she noticed the blind spot a couple of months ago when she almost hit another vehicle. also, the contact almost hit someone crossing in a cross walk because she could not see the person. the consumer did not notice this when she first purchased the vehicle. the consumer has not contacted the dealership or the manufacturer of the vehicle.*ak | |||

| Dodge durango 2004 st i just bought this model new off the floor and there is a manufacturer's defect on the design. if you are driving with the back window/windows down and the front up, there is a pulsating pressure from airflow that makes your eardrums feel like they are going to pop. cannot drive this vehicle without affecting the health of your ears unless all windows are up, or the front windows are cracked when the back windows are down. *nm | |||

| These vehicles have serious engine problems. (hemi 5.7l) the engine shut off while driving and almost caused an accident with me and my seven children inside becaus ethe driver behind me didnt see that my vehicle came to a stop and steering wheel locked up. in heavy rains water gets inside somehow and stalls the engine. the engine finally locked up after takinh my truck to numerous of places to see what was wrong and mechanics never seen that the engine was going bad. looking at reports, a lot of people are experiencing engine failure and this is dangerous. please do something before somebody gets hurt. | |||

| 2004 durango has rusted through on several spots. tailgate and wheel wells. this is excessive for a vehicle it's age that has been garaged and well cared for. i suggest that the anticorrosion coating was faulty. i have seen many durance's this age with the same trouble spots. | |||

| Not even making my first payment yet, my car has seen the shop several times and still not fixed. my brake line was cross treaded in the assembly line. there for i had very little brake fluid left (only 2 weeks after buying the car) and the fluid leaked on my rim which now has to be replaced but is on back order till whenever. i was with out my new car for over a week for this problem. then i have to get the bumper replaced due to fading which the service dept says has happened to several durango's and pt cruisers. this will be a 2-3 day process once chrysler figures out how they are going to repair since they have stopped replacing. (this will be more time with out my new car.) then it was in the shop because the radiator cap was not put on correctly during assembly and it loosened. all the coolent leaked and caused the car to overheat. last but not least the air bag light came on and they said that they have to replace the impact sensor switch...which you guessed it... is on backorder. this might or might not be the problem but they can't go any further until this is changed out. so once again i will be with out my car. i have talked to another service department and they warned me that i shouldn't be driving this car because with out the impact sensor switch, the airbags won't deploy on imact. this car has been too much trouble and not worth the hassle.this is my first dodge and i would never recommend buying one. i understand that sometimes there are just bad apples in the bunch, but chrysler and the dealership hasn't made efforts to fix problems. i just get the typical run around. | |||

| On march 2, 2007 i got in my 2004 dodge durango limited (hemi) to take my kids to school, i noticed my radio had no sound, the power came on, but no sound at all was heard. after i drove about 1/2 of a mile the speedometer and tachometer gauges started acting erratic, jumping up and down, the radio came back on for a few seconds, then cut out again. the overhead temp control was jumping from 54 degrees to negative 40!. my airbag light came on and stayed on as well as the etc light. after dropping my kids at school, i have not drove this truck, with less than 41000 miles. after reading that fires have started in many other 2004 durango's, i would like to know why my truck has not been issued a recall, what are they waiting for? i can not put my kids in this truck. in october 2006 my truck was leaking from above my drivers side door (34713 miles), we took it to the dealer and they had to re-seal seams above my door as well as other possible areas water could be getting in, one week later my truck started stalling at stop signs, my husband took it do the dealer again (35050 miles) the dealer schaefer and strohminger dodge whitemarsh of course tells us that it is lack of maintenance (not true) and we need the throttle body cleaned ($169.00 and a tune up $182.00) yet just the week before when my truck was there they did the multi-point inspection report and checked that everything was fine. after doing research i found out the issue with the leak above my door was sent out as a customer satisfaction notification no. d10, dated march 2004, why didn't i get this notification? better yet, why didn't the dealer fix this before i bought it in sept. 04? what good is the warranty from them when everything is denied? i will never buy a dodge/chrysler vehicle again. i have had many vehicles and never had an issue with a dealer not honoring a warranty and fixing problems, this is ridiculous and unsafe. *jb | |||
