 I was driving in the pouring rain and all of a sudden my durango started skipping and had a hesitation when giving the gas then stalled suddenly. had to pump gas to restart and continued stalling as soon as it restarted. per shop, 2004-2005 have defective cowl on windshield with huge gap. water is just pouring onto motor causing misfire. this is a known issue and dodge refuses to recall. i have contacted my local dodge dealer who has ordered the part however part has been back ordered for over a month. this is a very dangerous situation. not only is the vehicle stalling suddenly but once it stalls i lose my power steering and bearly make it to the side of the road. since this started, i still feel a hesitation/skip in the motor when driving in dry condition. something needs to be done here. why isn't dodge being held responsible for these dangerous issues?

 Auto drove properly previous day, started the engine at 6pm and it sounded like rocks in the engine. a puddle of oil was visible underneath the parked suv. car has been properly cared for, no warning lights on the dashboard ie: oil, engine light - just loud clanking and not drivable. edmunds and other auto information complaints are exactly like ours. this issue has been fixed in the 05 models but not in the 04. it rained a little earlier in the day and this video shows what is transpiring in the 04 models: hydrolock= broken rods http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_thrvtmlx4 chrysler needs to answer the hundreds of complaints that are documented. we cannot afford a new family car. thank you for your time and i hope that you help us find a solution and hold them accountable.

 My 2004 dodge durango has stalled on me 6 times now without 'any warning', it simply shuts off and i have no control over the vehicle. the first two times it happend, we dismissed as some weird 'fluke', as the two times were about a year apart, so we never thought much about it. when it happend for the third time we realized something was most definitely wrong. we were shocked to see how many people were having the same problem, when we began to research the problem on line. right after it happend the 3rd time, we took it in to our local mechanic; who indicated that it might be part of a faulty cluster problem that had been recalled. they replaced the cluster, and i felt so much better and safer. approximately 4 months later, it happend again! i sent an email to the service department of the dealership to tell them what i experienced, after several unanswered emails and 4 months later, i deciced that i needed to go in person. just this weekend, before i went; it happend again as i was entering the freeway. i am scared to death to drive this durango anywhere but on the side streets now. i had a child in my car when this occured this past weekend, and they were very scared. each time it has occured has been at a slow rate of speed and always making a right turn. it is extremly firghtening to lose complete control of your vehicle, and it is only matter of time before someone is going to die or cause a horrible accident when this shut down occures. why is chrysler/dodge not being made to address this problem? i was shocked to see still more complaints about this problem, the most recent was june 12, 2012 however these concerns are dating back to 2005! what needs to happen before this situation can be addressed and dealt with appropriately. this is not a small problem, this is a problem with potentially life threatening consequences, and no one is doing anything about it.

 I have been on several site and people who own dodge durango are have the same problem. i had the car diagnosed they said it was the o2 sensor and the durango has 4 so i had them replaced. the problem stopped for about 2 months then started again said its missing because i need a tune up got the tune up still doing it. then its still bucking shutting off while your driving hesitating when you back up and pull off. so i had it diagnosed again said the coil need to be replaced. replaced that check engine line still on still bucking shutting off when when your driving hesitating when you back up and pull off. had it diagnosed again said its the pcm but it can mask itself as the map sensor, tps, crank or cam positioning sensor. dodge knows this is a ongoing problem and refuses to do anything about because of there shotty workmanship no matter how many times you replace it you still end up have the same problem down the line and its very expensive. its not right that dodge or shall we same damien chrysler want rememdy the problem. the crazy thing is the wiring harness is affected to and the parts alone for that is 1180 pcm 400 and thats used and you have to get it rebuilt which causing a problem because it can still be defective.

 I went out on sunday morning 8/21/2011 after having had my 2004 dodge durango 5.7l hemi ,that i had parked since friday. my husband turned the key and there was a click. tried again and more clicks. third try was a loud series of clanking and clicking. had the vehicle hauled to the dodge dealership in harrison ar. they informed me the motor had blown a rod. repair would be $5000.00. i had been by the dealership a month before and inquired about sudden engine dying while driving. my vehicle hass done this seversl times while at any speed with steering loss. very scary.i have also fulfilled the earlier recall of having the rewiring of all the vehicle. was very displeased with the service and times it malfunctioned after having the recall serviced. please inform the proper personel and inform me of further action to take.

 On a 2004 dodge durango, when accelerating, the car basically dies and gets no power. the lightning bolt light come on. this is happening during acceleration on the highway causing a huge hazard and is now a safety concern
