Passenger side airbag warning light goes on after driving aprox 5 miles. does not go off until vehicle is turned off.

Airbag sensor and rear liftgate. airbag sensor has been replaced twice. once by me at my cost through the dealer and once by them as it was under warranty. it is on again and i refuse to pay for the fix again as this seems to be a trend. liftgate just stopped unlocking/opening. non-powered liftgate. only way to open the liftgate is by unlocking it with the key fob and or the electric unlock panel on the drivers side door. there is no way to open this liftgate manually. no keyhole or escape latch inside the liftgate door. i am getting this fixed as the dealer said something was jammed in the mechanical device. i asked if i jammed something and they said nope it was a mechanical issue. $369.99 for the new electronic lock and mechanism. i have read in other forums that the 2005 durango's and caravans have had similar issues and that the fix was approximately 350 dollars. *tr

My 2005 durango had the airbag light go on 4 times now. each time it has been taken to the dealer's service department, and they fixed the problem, but gave it 4 to 5 months for the light to comeson again, same thing was fixed and it happened again 4 to 5 months later, thiswas a safety issue when it came to the airbag. i traveled with an infant in this car ,and i wondered if my airbag will go off while i'm driving or if i was to have an accident will it deploy???? right now the card is at the dealership again for the same problem i am to the point i did not fee safe driving this car. *ak

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 30 mph in a curve the vehicle crashed and the air bags did not deploy. the contact tried to avoid a road hazard and lost control of the vehicle and crashed head on into a tree. as a result of the crash, neither front air bags deployed. the contact was wearing a seat belt; however, the contact sustained a whiplash injury. the vehicle was towed to the dealer for repairs after being inspected by the insurance company. the insurance company is having the vehicle repaired. the police were not involved since the accident happened near the residence on a country road. daimler chrysler denied any responsibility, claiming that their inspection revealed that the threshold for air bag deployment was not met. the impact was absorbed by the vehicle's crush points. also, during electronic testing no fault codes appeared that would have indicated any malfunction at the time of the incident. *ak

Dt: engine stalled about 5 different times while slowing down. she started vehicle and it died while she was sitting still. dealer did not know what the cause of the problem was, and they didn't know if it will be covered by the warranty. manufacturer has not been contacted yet.*ak update 11/15/05. *jb....contact complained about vehicle stalling. manufacturer's recall of fuel tank, and airbag light problem. in regard to stalling, the contact was told by the dealership that the stalling problem could not be repeated by service technicians and that no codes were available after computer diagnosis. then, was told to start vehicle when it stalls the next time and have it towed directly to the dealership. in this way, they would be able to obtain the code for the problem. also, they told the contact that the idle wasn't correct and they adjusted it appropriately. concerning the fuel tank recall, after recall service was performed, the fuel tank was replaced. finally the driver's side airbag light would come on and stay on during vehicle operation. the dealership investigated it and found a wire problem which they repaired. *ak
