Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge durango. the contact stated that while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled and caused the contact to lose control of the vehicle, crashing into a wall. the contact sustained injuries to the shoulder. the air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts did not restrain the contact. the contact called roadside assistance and they disconnected the battery. the vehicle was towed to the contact's home. the manufacturer advised that they would investigate the crash and the vehicle was towed to a dealer. the dealer determined that the air bags did not deploy because the speed of the vehicle did not trigger air bag deployment specifications. the failure mileage was 85,000.

We own a 2006 dodge durango and over the summer while driving my radio started and stopped working, my navigation system starting blinking, and then finally my car stopped working altogether. we found both of the relays to the electrical system on our durang full of water but when i called the dealership they denied ever hearing of this issue and started that there was no warranty. we shook out the relays, left them unplugged overnight, and used a hair dryer to dry any remaining moisture. as long as i keep my vehicle parked in the garage and unplug the relay after we wash the car we don't have any problems. however, the air bag light was the only warning light that we could not get to go out. over the weekend i heard on headline news that the 2008 dodge caravans are being recalled for moisture getting into the airbags. i called and explained my issue with our 2006 dodge durango and they told me that it was not under recall. interesting to note is that the dealership inquires about the mileage on your vehicle. i was told by their representative that low mileage vehicles can have a chance at goodwill repairs but not high mileage vehicles. i'm not sure if 75,000 miles is considered low or high but what is at issue is that dodge knows that there is an issue but they are not correcting it on all of the defective vehicles only on their 2008s.

Tl*the contact called about a 2006 dodge durango. the contact stated that the air bag indicator in the vehicle was illuminated, which meant that the air bags were not functioning. the dealer adjusted the air bags on six different occasions, but the failure persisted. he noticed that the indicator would turn off for a couple of months and then turn back on occasionally while driving various speeds. he spoke with the manufacturer and they stated that the dealer was attempting to repair the vehicle; however, nothing could be done at the time. the current mileage was approximately 37,200 and failure mileage was 14,318.

I t-boned a drunk driver who ran a red light with my 2006 dodge durango. i hit hard enough to brake the frame of the vehicle in two places and i hit the dash, but my airbags did not go off. chrysler said since the airbag light was not on there were no faults in the system. if they did not go off in this accident what would it take for the air bags to go off? updated 03/01/10 updated 03/22/10

On july 3, 2006 i purchased a 2006 dodge durango. not long after the purchase the air bag light started coming on shutting down the air bag system. on july 20, 2006 kari dodge in kalispell, mt worked on the air bag occupant area. not long after the air bag shut down again. although not mentioned on repair log they again tried to repair the air bags, on august 2, 2006. again they shut down. on september 21, 2007 i again took the car to jack of diamonds in longview, tx as i have moved to texas since purchasing the car. they again attempted to fix the air bags to no avail. so i took it back to jack of diamonds where they again attempted to fix the air bags on october 16, 2006. to date i still have airbags that are shutting down whenever they want. i have contacted daimler chrysler with this problem in an attempt to return the car as a lemon with a safety defect. they are researching my situation. i am not sure if anyone else is having this problem but just this last week i had to take my 63 yr old mother to a funeral in mississippi and guess what they air bags shut down again. this is a problem that needs to be addressed immediately as i do not feel that i can trust this car to protect me in an accident. i also do not feel that i should be inconvenienced with this vehicle any more. *tr
