| Repeat engine light alerts upon acceleration above 40 miles per hour. engine light comes on and the truck engine misfires, it starts jerking and bumping. i've had to slow down in front of angry traffickers because i was afraid the engine would fail completely on the interstate. twice in december 2011 within a weeks time, a coil was replaced and all 6 spark plugs, due to cracking and corrosion. again in 2012, the truck began misfiring, and multiple coils are corroded, and again- all 6 spark plugs are as well. upon research on the internet, i found a number of chat sites with angry dodge owners who have been alerted to the bulletin posted by company about the faulty cowl, which by poor design leaks water onto the engine. i am now faced with replacing all the cylinders, and replacing the faulty cowl with a newly designed cowl/ pins. labor and parts could run into the thousands easily. other issues i have faced since purchasing the vehicle second hand in september 2011 include wiring issues: headlamps fail, and horn honks when lights are turn on. left turn signal signals right, and right turn signal does not work at all. drivers power window intermittenly stops functioning. dome lamp will not turn off at times. this vehicle should be recalled immediately, and dodge is lowest on my list for my next vehicle purchase. | |||

| As i was exiting a highway, my 2006 dodge durango suddenly stalled out. the engine light came on after it stalled. i lost control of steering and was unable to brake. i nearly crashed into the car in front of me, and was barely able to turn the steering wheel enough to run into the curb to stop my vehicle! i was not able to re-start it and had to be towed. while waiting for police to arrive, i was nearly rear-ended multiple times. it was towed to a shop and the mechanic was able to start it up with no problem the next morning. he checked everything, and ran all diagnostic tests - all came back showing no problems. there is clearly a problem - and there are man, many, many complaints about it all over the internet. if i had been on the highway when this happened, i could have been in a very serious accident and could have been killed, or killed someone else, since i lost complete control of the vehicle and was unable to steer or brake. is it going to take a fatality before this is recalled and fixed?????? i am scared to death to drive it now! *tr | |||

| Exhaust started ticking and upon investigating found 2 rear manifold bolts broken off allowing exhaust fumes to leak into engine compartment. talked to dodge dealer and found it is a very common problem and very expensive to repair. | |||

| Upon turning into parking lot of local store, car shut down and system locked up. no power steering and no engine light came on. was able to steer car to parking space, stop and restart vehicle. this is the second occurence in 2 weeks. same scenario, going slow in parking lot and vehicle shuts down. another problem has come up now when after i start the vehicle in the morning, it surges from 1000 rpm to 2000 back and forth for about 10-15 seconds. my questions for the durango makers is when will their be a total recall on these suv's? | |||

| I have a 2006 dodge durango and recently it has started dying while driving. when this happens, the check engine light illuminates and the engine shuts off. steering and braking become very difficult and is very dangerous. my mechanic used a diagnostic tool and said it showed a code for the cam shaft sensor, and it was replaced. happened again a few weeks later. the diagnostic tool showed a code for the crank shaft sensor, and it was replaced. it is still happening. vehicle never fails to start after getting the vehicle stopped but due to the difficulty in steering and braking when it stalls, i have nearly had accidents. please help! | |||

| Progressively worse engine idle at stops on '06 durango w/ 5.7 hemi. when stopping at light/sign, engine will drop from (normal) around 700rpm to below 500 rpm and feels like its about to stall. it will then come up to 500rpm (rough idle) and fluctuate between 450 and 550. if i give at a little gas, it will come up to normal rpm and stay. dealer says they couldn't get any codes or find problems, however they saw same symptoms when turning wheel. after researching, i found that this same problem has been reported for '04 & '05 5.7 hemi's and has some vehicles stalling during a turn in intersection (this is a potentially fatal defect). dealer confirmed that chrylser is aware of a problem and has no fix for it. the dealer had me pick up the vehicle to use until a fix is available. *nm | |||

| I've had problems with this vehicle since i bought it. somedays the truck won't crank, check engine light goes on and off took it so salisbury dodge kept my vehicle for 4 days gave it back to me said they couldn't find anything wrong with it said they turned the light off for me 2 weeks later same problem like truck not getting gas, truck just cut off on me and my family while driving down the highway. took it to dealership where bought kept vehicle for almost 2 weeks catalytic converter was bad every since they gave me vehicle back which has been about 2 months still having problems radio turns by itself hit bump the truck turned off almost got rear ended trying to pull to shoulder, check engine light goes on and off, every time i call the dealership to get appt they say they can't give me one i just need to drop the truck off and they will get to it when they can,so what do i suppose to do until they can see what's going on i can't afford to pay for a rental they don't want to assist me with that. i'm really scared for my family safety i'm still having problems with the steering sometimes when i make a turn it doesn't turn correctly it's scary i really need some assistant. *tr | |||

| On my 2006 dodge durango, the studs and bolts holding the exhaust manifold together failed. this required the replacement of two gaskets, four double ended studs and two bolts as well as twenty retainers. this vehicle did not have any off road driving and the studs and bolts failed during normal everyday wear and tear, which seems very unusual for a vehicle less than three years old. is there a possibility that inferior materials were used in these studs and bolts leading to the failure? *tr | |||
