For the second time this year a window has exploded on my 2004 dodge grand caravan. i was driving down the road at posted speed, light traffic, sunny day, windows down, and pop, the passenger slider window shattered. it looked like it popped from the inside of the van. i was fortunate enough to pull over and was able to stop safely. once i stopped the window just fell out. i called chrysler customer service line and was advised by ms. j to proceed to the dealer that i had purchased the car from to have the vehicle inspected. i went to the dealer the following morning, and the service manager refused to even look at the window. i explained that this was the second incident this year where a window has exploded, and he told me since he didn't see the first one there was nothing he could do. no documentation, not even a drive in the car. now in addition to the problem with the windows, the van has a front end problem, a rear end problem, and a transmission problem. the front tires feel like they are falling off the van while driving, when turning right the rear end feels like it is tilting and the left tire squeals, and the car shifts improperly, or hesitates in traffic. *tr

We have had numerous and repeat problems with our 2004 dodge grand caravan and we get no help from the dealer or the manufacturer. the main complaint that is most concerning is our brakes as we have had to replace them 3 times in less than a year. we have terrible shaking, vibration and grinding. the vehicle has pulled to the right from the moment we purchased it, i thought it was out of alignment but they have not been able to correct the problem although it has been in several times. coincidentally it is the right side that wears more than then left. upon taking it to an aaa approved auto center and ase it was found that the calipers have been binding and the rotors were too thin to machine. we have kept the parts that the repair shop removed so that the condition and wear can be documented physically should a representative of dodge wish to see the actual parts. we paid over 32,000 for this vehicle 18 months ago and it consistently under performs and as mentioned above has had several mechanical problems but the reliability of the braking system is more than inconvenient and expensive, it is a safety concern. i do not trust the dealership to correctly diagnose and the dealership and manufacturer maintain that this is vehicle is performing as intended. therefore we must conclude that the 2004 dodge grand caravan is designed to perform poorly and be in the shop regularly. *nm updated 11/4/2005 - the rear windshield wipes have been repaired on two separate occasion but they still don't work. the ses light illuminated and the vehiclewas taken tot he dealer. they diagnosed the problem and found fault codes for cylinder #3 misfire and multiple cylinder misfire. the dealer installed spark plugs, replaced pluf wires and flashed the pcm. *nm

My concern is with my sun-visors on my vehicle,,they will not stay up against windshield ,they stay about the 5 o'clock position,,dealer says all grand caravans are like this,,now with this sun-visor at the 5o'clock position and you are a tall person , it partially blocks your view of the road ahead of you , so you choice is to not use the sun-visors or peak underneath them while you are driving...of course if you are 5' tall this would not effect you but if you are say over 5'10 could/would be a problem...thanks for your time,,,larry milloy
