 I have had nothing but problems with this car since it was purchased.the transmission slips and shudders i feel the dodge corp should take care of the ultradrive transmission as it is a {lemon} .*ak i now need to purchase a rebuilt transmission and catalytic converter and are now experiencing problems with the exterior paint coroding, the constant smell of gasoline inside the car, the passenger side air-bag is buckling, and the list goes on!

 Consumer was backing out of garage slowly when suddenly vehicle accelerated in reverse gear at high rate of speed with foot still on brakes which almost caused consumer to run into a house. consumer had to put gear into park, and take out key in order to stop vehicle. a repair shop claimed that front suspension was faulty and could not drive vehicle to inspect it. *ak

 Consumer received recall notice 92v128000, and called to make an appointment. dealer stated that the part was not in, and rescheduled appointment for march 16, 2000. also, when at a light vehicle jumps when trying to take off. sounds and feels like transmission is slipping. *ak

 Recal 99v215000/engine cradle: prior to receiving this recall notice vehicle experienced problem with repairs done on transaxle hub/welded chassis, and control arm. dealer notified of engine cradle recall, and repairs were done. but dealer wanted to charge consumer for work done on suspension due to control arm breakage before this recall notice was received. *ak

 Recall notice issued 2/2000 from d-c corp. reads: lower control arm attaching brackets on vehicle may crack & separate from engine cradle. if this occurs, transmission half-shaft may pull out of transaxle & cause loss of power. this will increase a risk of accident. tried to schedule repair with three different local dealers & right tool to perform repair is not available. chrysler claims mechanics don't apply correct torque, mechanics claim tool breaks after two usages. more tools sent to dealers on 04/03/00 in massachusetts. no loaners available, no. *ak

 Right axle disconnected from transaxle, damaging axle stub. vehicle repaired at owner expense. vehicle recalled 10 days later for defect to lower control arm brackets that cause exact same problem. *ak
 Upon moving backward to leave a parking lot, vehicle lost control; its front right wheel moved in unusual position. this was a result of the control arm attaching bracket separating from the engine cradle. *ak

 Nothing led up to the failure, it happened while i was driving on the freeway. i noticed my car started swaying and floating i got off the freeway and looked under the left rear to see that the sway bar snapped at the joint, and the sway bar link had disconnected. the rubber bushing is still in the arm, but not the bolt. can't find a new sway bar, but i have a repair kit for the link. this incident doesn't allow me to drive over 20 mph with wheel shaking. cannot reverse as well. *tr

 Dt: the contact stated there was a radical change in the steering. the steering went from ordinary to more complex. while holding the steering wheel the vehicle would wonder. he would have to over compensate to get back on course. the contact took the vehicle to a local service station ,and the mechanic stated the rear end almost separated from the vehicle. the rear end was rusted. the mechanic had to get a rear end assembly from a junk vehicle and replaced the entire rear end. he spoke with chrysler , they said there was nothing to be done, and referred him to the insurance company. *ak
