 Consumer was unable to shift to 3rd gear. dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. *ak the vehicle has a triptronic shift which allows the driver to drive fully automatic or manually shift with just a touch. when the temperature dropped below twenty degrees the shifter became frozen solid and the consumer was unable to shift out of park until the outside temperature was above freezing. because of this feature this malfunction the triptronic feature is no longer accessible. the vehicle also has air conditioning problems that limit it's ability to cool the vehicle on days with high humidity. *nm

 My husband john and i purchased a 1999 dodge intrepid from easy rider auto sales 3980 pine grove ave. fort gratiot, mi 48059 on april 11, 2003. the mileage on the title at time of sale was 86,554, current mileage is 88,290. i drove the car for a total of 1,736 miles. we also bought the extended warranty policy from the dealer for the car. guardian warranty company (nadn)1-800-482-7357.ext. 111. we had the car for a total of 25 days when the transmission went out. we took it to who easy rider auto sales said are a good company to do business with...lee's auto & truck repair 810-984-8947. after having the car back for a total of 8 days, i was backing out of my driveway and felt an sudden surge of power, the rpm reading was at 4,000. i was backing out slowly. i then braked and put it into park, watched the rpm gauge and seen it go over 5,000 rpm's in park at an idle. my husband contacted his friend who owns a repair shop and accepts this extended warranty we purchased. b & d auto and truck service in memphis, mi 810-367-8881. they currently have the car. the engine is totaled. b and d called the chrysler company, who told them to replace the motor because of the damages and they are aware that the 2.7,v-6 engine is trouble. b and d called the nadn company and told them about the engine. i was told that nadn doesn?t like to pay it?s claims. b and d always has to arburtrate over the money for the bill. b and d said to replace this engine would cost $8,600.00 plus tax. when we bought the extended warranty, we paid for it in full, we didn't argue about it. it is still covered! before we bought the car, lee's auto did an oil change on it. there is a sticker in the windshield that states to have it changed again at 3 months or 3,000 miles. i drove it for 1,736 miles and had it for less than 3 months. other problems include excessive rpms in idle, the power window in the back passenger side doesn't work, the trip meter doesn't work.

 1999 dodge intrepid 2.7 liter 4 door 200,000 miles clean car would not shift into it's parking gear after a short trip. after several attempts i was able to shift the car into park. the next morning the car would not shift out of park. i tried with considerable force and the shift cable broke..i removed the center console and repaired the shift cable arm which had bent and twisted in a forward direction allowing the cable to fall off. i was able to reshape the damaged arm and re attach the cable..the car still would not shift. the engine was running so i know it is not a shift cable inter-lock problem...i have know idea as to what created the problem. i have had regular oil changes and inspection made to the transmission, there was not any slippage..the parking paw would not engage and then not release...i allowed the car to warn to a normal operating temperature..i then tried to shift the car from park and it did without any resistance. i still need to have the shift cable adjusted, the car is operating in park/reverse/neutral and drive only... i am worried that this condition could happen again...have you any further reports of this occurrence? *tr

 Tl*the contact owns a 1999 dodge intrepid. the contact noticed smoke coming from the exhaust. the dealer rebuilt the transmission and replaced the air conditioner pump. the failure mileage was 89,000 and current mileage was 104,000.

 Several problems with my 1999 2.7 liter intrepid. first, problems with transmission shifting hard. sent to dealer and diagnostics came back 'within parameters'. told it must be how we drive it. since then, transmission would not shift between 2/3 gears. left me stranded out of town. had to replace the control module twice ($35.00 part). keep a spare in the glove box just in case. second problem, a clunking sound and ticking noise when turning steering wheel in either direction. took to an independent repair shop, they wouldn't touch it. have not had this problem corrected or seen by dealer. however, i have seen many tsb's on your website concerning this issue. third, engine starting making a banging sound at about 126k. had to have the engine replaced (bought a remanufactured engine) at a cost of $5000.00, was told something in the bottom end went. couldn't afford to buy new car and have car payment. only had 6 more payments to go. was also told that this was common with these engines. why is this engine still on the market if it has soooo many problems? *jb

 First one of the fans went then a few months later the other went. from about 60,000 miles, i have blew blue smoke coming out of the tailpipe had seals replaced but did no good. still smoking. transmission went out completly. the the 1st fan is going out again. (hint) the plastic fans are junk!! the 2.7 liter is not enough for the intrepid body i'm told . i'm planning on trading before we are stuck with another 2,000 repair bill on a vehicle kbbv at 2700. *jb

 Dt: the timing chain was getting ready to snap. took vehicle to the dealer because the engine was knocking and making a funny noise. dealer stated that if consumer had to drive much further it would snap while driving it. there was oil sludge built up in the engine. this happened on march 15, 2005.*ak

 I just had the check engine light on my car fixed, oil leak and transmission leak fixed, and the windows fixed because they were off track. my air conditioning unit is broke and i hate that because i have a newborn baby and its hot! i had to get a new transmission at 95,000 miles. i was unhappy about that. i hate my 1999 dodge intrepid.

 While driving at normal highway speeds the car suddenly downshifted, causing a terrible jolt to my family including two children. the jolt nearly caused an accident from cars behind us (the car does not light the taillights even though the car went from 60mph to 30mph in probably less than a second). we were told that the problem was the input and output transmission sensors. this is the second time this has occurred to us in 33000 miles!! we were lucky but this could easily cause a fatal accident to somesone. i hope the nhtsa will do something about this issue soon before a fatal accident does happen!!!!*ak

 My 1999 dodge intrepid had sludge in the oil making the engine in the car defective. i recently saw the report on wls in chicago and i would like some answeres. this car was very well maintained and this should have not happened. i would like the makers to at least he a recall for the repairs my car needs considering that the engine that they put into these cars are not equipped to handle te size of this vehicale. we also have 4 other family members with this type of car and i'm afraid that this is going to happen to them. i'm not alone there are thousands of people, i'm sure that this problem has happened to them as well, but with all these people reporting the same sludgeand the 2.7 engines in these cars going out, this is a defective engine in this car. what can i do with the help of you to get my car runing again. my family needs this car. right now it is sitting in a shop because to get another engine costs up to if not more than $5,000.00 which we do not have, and should be covered by the dealer considering that the engins is wrong for the car. can you please contact and help me with this defect thank you. *ak

 Problems with transmission on 1999 dodge intrepid. *mr during an inspection, it was noticed that there was a transmission leak. the cause of the leak was due to an insufficient tightening of the clamp on the transmission lines that had supposedly been fixed. there was another incident where the vehicle started to lose acceleration. the consumer continued to press the gas pedal but the vehicle started to go slower than faster. the consumer also viewed smoke coming from under the hood. the service dealer told the consumer that nothing happened and to refill the transmission fluid. the consumer requested a refund of all expenses incurred. *sc *jb

 My wife bought a 99 intrepid with 3.2l engine brand new. the car currently has 79k miles, but we have replaced the window motor (all under warranty) by the dealer 6 times (sometimes twice in the same windows). we have also been experiencing issues with the transmission such as rough changing of gears. we replaced the speed sensor once, and now the transmission is stuck in 2nd gear. we were told by the dealer the transmission will need an overhaul at $2,300.

 We have a 1999 dodge intrepid, for the last 2 years the same mechanical problems occurred. you would feel and hear a clunking noise, check engine light comes on and the car locks in low gear. we had a 5 star dealer service the car 10 times over the past 2 years. each time they thought they fixed the problem. now they tell me it can't be fixed. daimler would not give us the time of day. they tell us we should go to a different dealer. we told them we were sick of getting the run-around, the response was: we can't fix your car over the phone. imagine going 55 mph and having down shift into low gear. *jb

 1999 dodge intrepid 2.7 vin#2b3hd46r7xh743055, 43,913 miles, transmission sensor went out, $132.84. 9/14/00 75,085 miles, water outlet and transmission lines needed replaced. mechanic informed me the transmission lines were factory installed defective. $582.24. 12/14/01 86,992 miles, timing chain broke, replaced water pump. $1,188.79. 6/14/02. 91,324 miles, transmission speed sensor broke. $350.60. 8/2/02 96,828 miles, dash lights went out. mechanic informed me the dash lights were an internal wiring defect. $223.30. 10/2/02 98,003 miles, cooling fan went out. mechanic informed me this was a factory defect. chrysler had changed the design of the fans so i could not just repair one side of the fan since it was no longer available. $680.35. 10/24/02. 109,754 miles, engine blew, taking starter with it. told by mechanic that chrysler designed the 2.7 engine to be a disposable engine (compared to the 3.2 that year). replaced with used engine. $4174.49. 5/21/03 i had over $7000 in repairs in under a year and a half. while im gravely disappointed in the mechanics of this vehicle, i feel that the fan assembly, transmission lines, and electrical wiring are things that were obviously defective from the start and should be repaired free of charge. additionally, the transmission sensor going out at only 43,913 miles should have been replaced free as well. while it is difficult to prove that i took care of the engine, i have oil change receipts. *nlm

 I purchased a 1999 dodge interpid on april 11, 2003, after having it for 25 days, the transmission went. was repaired. in the shop for 2 weeks. after having it for 9 days, a loud noise in engine was noticed. it was not drove, but went into the shop again and is currently there. the engine has gone. repair shop called chrysler company and they said to replace it. our extended warranty company wants me to authorize repairs and will decide what percentage they will pay for it. but the policy we have states engine repairs and replacement., according to their booklet. the cost to replace it, $8,300.00! that is more than what we paid for the car. this car has been driveable for 25 days before first breakdown with transmission job, undriveable and in the shop for 14 days, out for 9 days and is now in the shop awaiting a new engine. i have read on the internet about other 1999 dodge interpid owners who are having the same troubles as i am with their cars. please help this engine is ruinned! needs to be replaces, 2.7l, v-6.. *ak

 The shift lever is hard to shift, and it is out of alignment. when i put the shift lever in the drive mode, it stops in 2nd gear, but the indicator on the dash will say d. right now it's functioning, but it can go anytime now. i would like to know why this is happening, and how much it will cost to fix, and better yet will it fall under my silver warranty plan.*ak

 History includes blown transmission sensor, failure on the very first year inspection for brake rotors, driver's side window sticks in up position, intermittent heat control button not functioning properly, noisy when turning in front strut area, keyless remote does not function properly and now the worst of it. one month ago, took car in with oil and engine lights flashing, ticking noise from engine, stalling out. dealer did electronic sensors repairs and tune up costing $500. one month later, car had to be towed back to dealer with loud banging in engine. repair bill of over $6,000 to fix a car i've owned 3 years, 8 months and 60,000 miles. 2.7 l engines are blowing in these cars all the time making it next to impossible to purchase a used one to do repairs myself. one used car parts place said they have a waiting list. recall anyone???!! *nlm

 Engine blew for no apparent reason. warranty will not cover a replacement due to the mysterious appearance of sludge. i had my oil changed regularly and maintained my vehicle properly. i have already replaced the transmission, various sensors and visited the dealer 3 times to correct an oil leak. i was never diagnosed with an engine problem until it finally shut down. while driving approximately 45 mph on the highway, the engine started to make a loud noise and rattled continuously. this was very surprising, considering the vehicle was normally a quiet ride. the shop told me my engine was blown and the warranty company denied my claim. i am still financing this vehicle and do not have the 6,500.00 to replace this engine. i see numerous complaints on this site and others about the 2.7 liter engines. there should definitely be a recall. *jb

 I was the owner of a 1999 dodge intrepid, that was completely wrecked at 36,000 miles after experiencing sudden loss of steering control prior to the wreck, my dealer assured me over and over that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle although i was very concerned and pretended to know nothing about steering problems with these vehicles. prior to the total vehicle loss, the engine blew up with a rod knock at about 33,000 miles and had to be replaced, the transmission had to be overhauled after it failed, the input and output speed sensors both failed and much more. this is just 1 of 2 defective daimler chrysler vehicles i have owned and daimler chrysler accepts no responsibility. many of these vehicles are defective and do not hold up reasonably. i have never had any of these problems with a 15 year old vehicle with over 220,000 miles on it. i would like to inform consumers that my website against chrysler for ongoing premature dodge, chrysler engine, steering, transmission failures and more is now www.daimlerchryslervehicleproblems.com. we have referred many to the nhtsa and we hope that the nhtsa will post this to refer others to our site who have not yet seen our site. at this website you will see accident pictures and complaints from consumers after sudden loss of steering control. we also have pictures of the common chrysler engine internal oil sludge buildup and damage from timing chains that have broke through these engines after tensioner failures. we also have many premature transmission failure complaints. if you have evidence of these problems, pictures or a complaint to be posted please also visit www.daimlerchryslervehicleproblems.com and find out what daimlerchrysler does not want you to know. *jb

 I own a 1999 dodge intrepid with 26,400 miles on it. it has never been in an accident of any type and usually driven 10 miles per day. after 26,000 miles the engine developed a knocking noise. i was informed the roller bearing on the timing change had failed. after paying more than $1,400 for the replacement of the roller bearing and a new timing chain, it was determined that the timing chain problem had damaged one or more of the valves, which required the engine to be torn down and a valve job to be required for an additional cost of $900.00. all of this to a car with only 26,000 miles. 2 weeks after the engine repairs were made the transmission stopped shifting gears.*jb

 We bought our car new from gladstone dodge, and noticed right off that there was an hesitation and lunging in the transmission. this problem was random, you never knew when it would happen.when we took it in anyways to be checked the wrote it up as they could not verify and next time could not duplicate . we kept calling and insisiting there was something. we were told to bring it in when it was doing it.they replaced the cam sensors and said that was problem, not the transmission itself. then warranty expired we paid for the next sensor. they said still not the transmission. now at 60,000miles the transmission is completely gone. daimlerchrysler refuses to pay saying that the tech could not verify or duplicate the problem. even though we tried to tell them on several times, that there was something wrong from the beginning. 2 months ago we were shown thick sludge in the oil on a routine oil change, now after research i see in a complaint site for dodge intrepids that there are 1,000 that have had the same problem with techs unable to verify or duplicate and customer keep insisting there is a problem, sensors replaced and only to follow with transmission totally going out. and with the sludge the engine ends up blown. something needs to be done!!!

 My transmission began making my car drive erratic. as with other owners of this same vehicle, while driving normally it all of a sudden began jerking abruptly and then the check engine light came on. the car would no longer go above 50mph as the transmission could not shift into higher gears. if i was on the freeway this could have been very dangerous. i've had the transmission solenoid pack replaced, the speed sensor replaced previously, and now i'm being told it is the speed sensor again. this is probably the worst experience i have ever had with a newer vehicle and i will never buy another chrysler product again.*ak

 The seat belt buckle issue we mentioned to the dealership when we had the car in to repair the output speed sensor. even though we discovered there is a recall on seat belts for the very problem we have had with the seat buckles coming loose that hold our child seats in, the dealership told us that they would not repair ours. the output speed sensor issue almost caused an accident as it instantly downshifted the car to 2nd gear. it caused a terrible jolt to us and we were almost rear ended...taillights didn't flash to warn other cars. air conditioner issue, well, that just never worked properly. the temperature selector often doesn't change the temperature. cold comes out luke warm.*ak

 I purchased my 1999 dodge intrepid w/28,840 miles. from there it had unreasonably been a lemon and into the five star chrysler dealer at least 8 times. the vehicle had persistant steering issues and abnormalities, wandering, play, abnormal change in sensitivity while driving, noise, tire wear. dealer could never duplicate the problems'. the engine blew up at 33,000 miles, had to have replaced. transmission failed shortly after, had to be rebuilt. input/output speed sensors failed twice. abs allowed brakes to lock up twice. tcm and pcm needed updating due to flawed previous revisions. power window failed, front bumper, grill paint wearing. obviously this vehicle was a lemon. the vehicle was finally wrecked after sudden poor steering control after trying to get the dealer to do something many times. daimlerchrysler denies any manufacturing responsibility. i do not see how they can get away with this. there are many others experiencing similar premature problems that should not be occuring as such. i have started a website against daimlerchrysler corporation - http://intrepid.clan-510.org - email address is intrepidproblems@clan-510.org - address: po box 2021 san leandro, ca 94577-2021

 I drove my car to work without incident. car was parked at work overnight. left work the next morning, while accelerating up to speed i noticed that the car was jerking hard as it shifted through the gears (automatic). before i got home (3 miles from work) the engine check light came on. when i arrived at home i cycled the shifter from park to drive (while car was parked in garage). while doing this the transmission would hesitate and then shift very hard into drive which made the car lurch forward (park and foot brake were applied). i had the car towed to the local dealership where they replaced the input speed sensor, this was covered under the original manufacturer's warranty, no cost to me. the next incident occurred in a similar fashion, the car was parked at work. when i left the next morning i noticed that the speedometer was not working (indicated 0 even though the car was moving). the shift selector on the dash was in [2] even though i had the shifter in the auto-stick mode which should start out in [1]. i took the shifter out of autostick and placed it in auto-shift, the acceleration was very sluggish, it was obvious that the transmission was stuck in [2]. as i was driving home the check engine light came on. while parked in the garage i cycled the shifter from park to drive, once again the transmission hesitated, then shifted very hard into drive, causing the car to lurch forward. i had the car towed to the local dealership where they replaced the output speed sensor. the original manufactures warranty had expired, i bought an extended warranty which covered the repair minus my $100.00 deductible. i have read numerous complaints through your website from other owners with the same problem, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that their is a real safety issue here. when is your department going to inform the manufacturer that this is not acceptable? maybe after someone is killed!!*ak

 I purchased this vehicle in march of 2001. i have had nothing but trouble with it ever since. i have had electrical, air conditioning, and transmission problems which has resulted in approximately $2,600 in repairs in the year that i have owned it. i have contacted the crysler corp. and they did not help me in anyway. the car orignally had a 36,000 mile 3 year warranty on it. now the crysler corp. offers a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty on all their vehicles. this the first crysler product and the last one i will ever buy. i have previously owned gm products and currently own a 1997 ford f-150 pickup and i am very satisfied with it. is there any help you can give me? i have all receipts for all repairs since i have owned the vehicle. *ak

 I purchased a new 99 dodge intrepid in june 1999. within 2 weeks of the purchase, the front passenger window motor burned out and it was replaced by the dealer. when i took the car home, i discovered the front passenger door would not open from the inside. i went back to the dealer, who said a rod was not reattached to the door when the window motor was replaced. they fixed it and the door worked fine. in april of 2000, the left rear window motor burned out and i went back to the dealer to have it replaced. in february of 2001, i went back to the dealer because the transmission would not shift into 2nd gear. i was told the solenoid pack burned out and needed to be replaced. herb gordon was not very helpful, so i called chrysler in michigan and told them the problem. the said to pay for the work and send them the original receipt and they would reimburse me for most of the work. i had the work done and sent the receipt. in july of 2001, the transmission had the same problem. herb gordon said it was the speed sensor and since they would not do the work nor did they offer to cover any part of the work, i called chrysler again. they said to have the work done and send the receipt for reimbursement. i did have the work done. approximately december 2001, the right rear window stopped working and in january of 2002 the driver's window started to work intermittantly. herb gordon said the rear motor burned out and the driver's motor was going to burn out, so i called chrysler again. they again said since i was past the original warranty, they would not cover the work. after talking with them, they said they would cover all but $100, but not a rental car even though the work would take a few hours. i learned later the driver's door latch subassembly was going to burn out and i would not be able to use the remote to open the door, only the key. i will not buy another chrysler product because of the problems i have had with the car, dealer and chrysler.*ak

 Transmission failure- the transmission will not go into 3rd gear. we have called dodge with no help a very rude rep. sd that since we did not buy it from a dodge dealer they would not cover it also the miles. although the week befor when i put the complaint in the lady form dodge sd we would need to bring the car to a certified dodge dealer for a diagnostic. i told her we already had a diagonstic done by a certified transmission place and had to pay 89.00 for this. she told me that was not good enough that if we want dodge to help we need to bring it to dodge. know we are stuck with another diagonstic bill for 85.00 from dodge and no further help. really upset that i pay 11,000 for a car and then 2,000 on a transmission. if this is not resolved i will not buy another dodge. the customer service is bad they even us bad language at it seems like they just wanted more money out of me when they made me go do a diagonstic at ther location. know i am out the money with a car that will only go 30mph and is pretty much worthless.*ak

 1999 dodge intrepid es: transmission had been overhauled three weeks ago because of intermittent bump, surging in automatic, rough shifting in lower gears. there was also a one time slippage, a jam in fourth gear and transmission once shifted back in fourth rapidly in lower gears. transmission was overhauled, input/output speed sensors, torque converter, disc clutch replaced. transmission seemed to work better since overhaul and replacements three weeks ago. problems are now slowly starting to come back. transmission does not function consistantly as it should. recent examples: 11/19 made u-turn, let of accelerator pedal then pressed pedal for medium acceleration, tranny hesitated then bumped then finally worked. 11/20 while driving to work i stopped at traffic light then lightly pressed accelerator pedal, tranny seemed to lock down hard and vehicle accelerated very quickly, faster than usual. vehicle almost smashed into car in front of me. engine did not rev as like it was a throttle request. this has only happened once or twice since owning the vehicle. dealership says transmission is fine and shifts fine. i asked dealership to check for fault codes, they state that no codes were found. i will be taking it to another dealership. *ak

 At time of transmission failure problem became serious and became obvious on 10/18/01. after transmission started failing i stopped at the traffic signal ahead. after stopping and letting go of the steering wheel the steering wheel completely limped to the left with very limited control when i attempted to turn it. i have had problems with flimsly/loose steering that moves to freely but the vehicle was even move difficult to control and the steering felt really strange. i limped it back to the dealership. they stated that they could not duplicate the steering problem and a tech said that it drove normal but they found a bolt or washer missing from the left lower suspension control arm and will replace. they are currently ordering the part and i am without my vehicle at this time.*ak

 Several days after having the 3.2l engine replaced because it blew up due to unexplained oil dissappearance i experienced continued problems with the vehicle. my input and output speed sensor was replaced when my vehicle was in for engine replacement due to rough shifting and surging in low gears and intermittent transmission bump. vehicle's transmission seemed to work somewhat smoother. transmission kickdown issue worsened however. vehicle would need to be driving at 30-35mph or slower for transmission to kick down hard for merging, passing or to enter the freeway or acceleration was poor. transmission bump still sometimes occured. during acceleration across intersection vehicle began to violently surge back and fourth as vehicle was switching back and fourth between gears. this happened for several seconds, i was ready to kill the ignition but it stopped. i stepped down hard on the accelerator trying to investigate the problem and engine reved but vehicle acelerated very slowly indicating transmission slippage. the slippage only occured once shortly after and could not be duplicated. dealer was able to duplicate or pull fault code. dealer is going to perform major transmission overhaul/rebuild at only 33350 miles. additional lossed time from work because of these continual problems.*ak

 1999 dodge intrepid es 3.2l: vehicle frequently fails to be consistant with acceleration. sometimes delayed transmission shift response even when using autostick. transmission often seems to shift very roughly. vehicle sometimes seems to downshift properly with proper engine response and has excellent acceleration even at 50mph when in automatic then sometimes has extremely poor and delayed acceleration and does not seem to downshift even at speeds slow as 35mph even when accelerator pedal is floored or stomped, which is dangerous when trying to get onto freeway, merging or passing. it is sometimes difficult to get vehicle to accelerate smoothly with accelerator pedal, lack of throttle action and very slow acceleration sometimes when pressing accelerator pedal sometimes half way down, then when pressed further and almost floored transmission kicks down hard, vehicle jerks forward and over compensates intended acceleration. once when accelerator pedal was pressed down hard, down about half, not floored vehicle responded, accelerated and shifted much faster than ever before, vehicle had never performed this well or taken off so fast, was completely unexpected, vehicle went from 5-40mph in about 2.5 seconds. the vehicle lunged forward quicker than ever experienced and the engine made more noise than usual. no complaints and actually like this type of vehicle performance but it is dangerous when the vehicle does not usually perform like this then all of a sudden does completely unexpectedly. i had to shift into autostick and downshift in conjuction with the brake to slow the screaming vehicle down. due to some concern and trying to continually maintain the vehicle properly had five star dealership and service center where purchased replace and refill automatic transmission fluid and filter. had dealership reset the vehicle's fuel mixture sensor and adaptive learn to factory defaults. this did not help. this issue is very intermittent and i believe dealer will not help.

 In and out of morlans, inc (dodge dealer) several times because of the electrical sytem causing the check engine light to come on with many different codes such as rough idle-transmission not shifting /down shifting-transmission control module replaced-camshaft sensor replaced-ignition coil pack replaced-these were done while still under warranty at different dates. just recently 3/25/01 my transmission went into a limp mode again at 40,000 miles-this time it was a transmission input speed sensor (my cost $92.00), when i got my car back now my heater- a/c and rear defrost control / vents don't work ? diagnosed problem electrical (charged $50.00) again with the control head / board control module. i've made several calls to the chrysler corp. without avail for assistance. please give any help possible to correct these electrical defects. thank you. *ak

 Transmission hesitates and is sporadic. has been in for a complete overhaul of the transmission. i still have the problem and have had it in for repair at least 3 other times. the dealer now says they cannot recreate the problem. i have had many people drive my car and they have noticed the rough shifting as well as the hesitant take off. this could be dangerous because you don't know when the transmission will engage and thrust your car forward. the other problem is the power windows. the driver window has a squeak and a grind. the dealer says they fixed it but it is doing it again. the back windows stopped functioning altogether and a part had to be ordered. the dealer did install this part in early april 2000. *ak

 While driving on freeway near tracy, ca vehicle drove over smoothly part in freeway that slightly went upward then slightly downward causing vehicle springs or struts to lift up or hop far too much creating very poor vehicle traction, traffic then abruptly halted, had to brake hard to stop vehicle, vehicle had poor traction and just slid making a loud tire screeching noise, had to very quickly release the brake since vehicle was skidding, shifted into autostick and downshifted quickly in conjunction with quickly using brake get vehicle to stop properly. i am using stock goodyear tires with good tread, service center told me tires are ok, i am supposed to have abs (anti-lock brakes) so this does not happen. i beleive that the abs failed due to the springs or struts bouncing allowing the vehicle to lift up too much thus loosing traction causing abs to fail. i have not had any other problems with abs however brakes are starting to sometimes feel funny, almost a little rough when applied lately. i talked to independent mechanic that told me that my vehicle should not have skidded as it did and my springs could be responsible for the excessive uplift that occured. vehicle does seem to hop or bounce a little much also at times causing the front wheels to loose traction or slide on slight turns. new springs or whatever with only 32,000? i have never had that happen in my old 1995 dodge intrepid although it had it's problems. this should not happen and is dangerous, i almost smashed into the traffic in front of me. please advise. thank you.*ak

 Started vehicle in park with right foot on brake pedal. soon as put in reverse encountered a sudden unintended acceleration (sua). through normal reflex also had portion of my left foot on brake pedal as the motor raced being pushed in a backwards circular motion by an unknown component malfunction. a 180 degree circle was made until stopped by the rear bumper of an unoccupied windstar van. then i was able to turn off the iginition to stop the still racing motor. that windstar driver had just descended from her vehicle. the police had my vehicle towed because of a vehicular defect. my vehicle missed an occupied station wagon by approximately two inches judging by skidmarks. the driver confirmed that soon as back up lights came on my vehicle just shot out of the post office parking space. mr
