I was traveling home from work at 60 mph, when the back of my seat collapsed and i lost control of the vehicle momentarilly. upon examining the seat at home i found the bolt which holds the seat upright had sheared off. the bolt appears to be a composite material and not a strong metal. no way this should have failed. i see two more reported cases, which leads me to believe there are hundreds more out there, but are being repaired under warranty and not being reported.*ak

I was traveling on i-95 with my child when the drivers seat back suddenly made a loud pop and fell backwards. i fell backwards towards the back seat resulting in my loosing my grip on the wheel, gas, brakes, and thus loosing control of the vehicle. i was in the extrem left hand lane of i-95 traveling south. the vehicle went off into the median at 70mph, i pulled myelf up and fought to regain control of the vehicle. i was able to regain control without incident, pulled over to the emergency lane and found the linkage to the seat back broken. i got off the jupiter florida exit went to the dodge dealer where i was told thy did not have time to look at it. i asked if i could leave the vehicle and have a loaner as my vehicle has extended warrenty and was informed they did not do that. i asked if the could at least see if there was something they could easily repair and was told no, i would have to bring the vehicle back after an appointment. i then had to drive the vehicle 30 miles back home with the back of the seat lying in the rear seat. *ak
