| Tl-the contact owns a 2000 dodge intrepid. the contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph into a parking space, the engine stalled without warning. upon restarting, the vehicle resumed normal function. the failure recurred twelve times. in addition, whenever accessing the exterior front and rear passenger locked power doors, they failed to release open with the key fob. the failure recurred twelve times. the vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 42,000. the vin was unavailable. kmj | |||

| On 2 separate occasions vehicle experienced input and output sensor failure. the sensor controls and communicates with the rpms and transmission, per consumer. when this failure occurs vehicle immediately drops into second gear and accelerates from 30 - 60 mph,without accelerator pedal being depressed. the dealership and manufacturer are aware of the failure and are replacing sensor with a newer model.*ak | |||

| Dt*: the contact stated when the vehicle was started; the engine was chugging and would not accelerate properly while traveling 30 mph. the vehicle was taken to the nearest repair shop. after six weeks, diagnostics and physical inspection showed a valve part may have fallen into the motor causing damage and there was a severe sludge problem requiring the engine to be replaced. the service dealer bought the vehicle from the contact. the manufacturer was not alerted. | |||

| I pulled out of a parking lot and drove about two blocks. my speed was about 20 mph. there was a red light ahead and i applied my breaks. instead of stopping, my 2000 dodge intrepid sped up. i pushed harder on the break pedal, to no avail. the car sped through the intersection and slammed into another car. i mentioned this to the insurance agent and the car was checked out after it was repaired at the body shop. the dodge dealer said the cruise control cable was broken as a result of my accident. i do not know what or why the car did not stop when i applied the brakes and then firmly applied the brakes. the only way i got the car to stop was to turn off the key. *la | |||
