FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
02/17/20081
While in route to work, i started smelling gas from air vents. i made it to work & when i went on lunch break my co-workers said that they smelt gas around my car. i left work that morning when to a reputable mechanic to find out why i was smelling gas & rapidly started losing gas mileage. he informed me that my car(dodge intrepid 2001) have had problems with the fuel rail & that i should look into contacting &/or looking up vehicle recalls on my car. contacted dodge/daimler chrysler & had absolutely no response as of yet. *tr
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE - DELIVERY - FUEL PUMP
02/10/200562000201/07/2004
A few days after i bought the car the engine light came on, and i took it back to the dealer. he said it was the fuel cap making the engine light come on, he put a new one on, and said that should solve it. the engine light came back on, and a month later, the car wouldn't start. i had it towed to a shop, and they said it needed a new fuel pump. i called the dealer, and he said it was nothing he could do because the warranty was only for a month. i just started driving it again, the car would take a minute before it picked up speed, like it was stalling. i drove it until just recently it just stopped while i was driving. i had the car towed and it was put on a machine and the transmission is out. i have had the car a year. one day the car wouldn't go in reverse, and i checked the transmission fluid, and it was fine. then , it drove fine a couple days then completely stopped. i haven't done anything yet because i don't have the money for another transmission or car, and need a car because i have a daughter with cerebral palsy, and she has a lot of doctor appointments out of town and in town. so if i could get some help i would greatly appreciate it. *ak

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE - STORAGE - TANK ASSEMBLY - FILLER PIPE AND CAP
02/01/200547600107/03/2004
Dt: 2001 dodge intrepid es, the vehicles gas tank will not accept gasoline easily, it takes the an excessive amount of time to fill the tank. the consumer will fill the tank and the fuel gauge still shows empty. after the consumer has put fuel in the tank some of the fuel will come out. the consumer has even replaced the gas cap, which did not fix the problem. the dealership told the consumer that they could replace the fuel control valve, the filler tube, and the leak detection pump filter at consumer's expense. the consumer was given a tsb number 14003-01 from universal underwriters service corporation phone no. 1-888-835-5063. the consumer has an extended warranty with u. u. s. c. policy no. v300191293 coverage which is called a comprehensive plan. consumer was told that it was a manufacturer's defect, and was not covered under warranty. the u. u. s. c. did replace fuel level unit because it was not covered in the tsb, consumer has contacted the daimler chrysler, the manufacturer told consumer that they were aware of the tsb, and that the consumer would have to have the repair fixed at her own expense. there have been no other known problems with the vehicle at this time. *ak the manufacturer contacted the consumer and agree to replaced the fuel filler tube at no cost to the consumer. *nm
