| I purchased this car in august 2010 (it is a 2009) and since then, i have had the vehicle in the shop 33 times. i have had to replace all brakes and rotors, had front passenger-side window motor replaced, driver-side is going out now, had leaking from the ceiling, replacing the cracked radiator right now, had the emergency brake fixed, needed new rods and bushings, fuel injectors run loud, there is a drone noise from the right side of the vehicle when going 1800-2000 rpm, electrical systems short out, had the electric throttle indicator light come on, car dies all the time, yet the battery is fine, ...bottom line, this is a lemon. i have the r/t model which the dealership likes to claim is just the noisy one. that is a very poor answer towards a consumer. i take very good care of my vehicles and to put up with this is upsetting. i have spent over $3000 in repairs in the 2 1/2 years that i have owned this suv. chrysler has made no attempts to help with these common problems and i know that i will not support this company buy purchasing with them again. when i bought a journey...i didn't realize being able to drive it without problems, would be such a journey. | |||

| As i was driving home from work and turning into my neighborhood i noticed smoke coming from the back of my car as i looked in the rearview mirror. there were no warning lights on other than my gas light which had just come on about a mile before. i pulled into my parking space and the car immediately began smoking from the underneath the hood, enough to alert all of the neighbors who came out thinking a house was on fire. i saw flames coming from the hood on the passenger side as i was exiting the car. about a minute after i got out of the car, there was a loud explosion from underneath the hood, and the car started to kick out more smoke than before. my neighbor came over to open the hood after a few minutes. there were no more flames, but the heat shield metal had melted from the heat, as did parts of my engine, the engine cover, hoses, and metal connections. (unsure of the true mechanical lingo). the incident was reported to my insurance company as a loss. | |||

| Electrical system failure due to wiring harness melting, radiator cracked because bracket for ac is connected too tight when car is manufactured, battery died prematurely because of failed wires, rotors warped causing car to shake violently when braking. all these problems and others for a car with only 60,000 miles. have spent over $2000 to date in repairs that numerous people have had related to this vehicle. based on online complaints and talking to mechanics who have worked on this car no one can believe that the correct electrical recall has taken place. there have been electrical recalls on vehicle, but not for most common failure. no one understands why brake issue has not been recalled and no one understands why the radiators keep failing without a recall. will it take a serious crash? safety of the consumer is at risk. you pay $20,000 for a car and think it will last awhile. this car has major problems that are consistent from buyer to buyer. | |||

| The 2009 dodge journey has many problems and complaints! mine is like many others first the brake system locked up and cost $300 to repair and now the care will not start or starts when it wants to. i took it to the dealer and they now say it is the key switch (electrical) and will now be a $400 bill out of my pocket. no coverage warranty is up, purchased used and was not told that their was a recall on the care when we purchased it. dodge knows this car has problems but like normal they will not recall the car and fix their problems, they will however allow the care to be on the road and service them over and over because it makes them money. the claims of dodge is false, this car is not a quality car and many owners have reported the many problems. | |||

| Valve stem sensors on the two rear tires are corroded and cracked. driving down road metal on valve stem fell off causing rapid air loss in tire. other tire with corroded valve stem broke at car wash. this is a well known probably, i know this because i am a deputy sheriff and this same problem happened to our squad cars, which our dodge chargers. after two deputies had blowouts at high rate of speed sheriff ordered all sensors changed. if you google online this problem is coming and people are going to die in an accident from this. this has to be recalled by chrysler. chrysler knows this problem exists because they changed the sensors in 2011. | |||

| My vehicle intermittently starts. i put the key in the ignitions all the lights and radio and all other electrical components come on car will just not start. took the car to the dealer for a diagnostic test all test came back fine and dealer was not able to duplicate the problem. this has been happening everyday and i have to wait hours for the car to get restarted or wait over night for the car to start again. this car is completely unreliable and i have gotten stranded with kids several times for hours. | |||

| Our electronic throttle control (etc) came on last friday evening. we cycled the key and the etc sensor shut off. however, further searches showed that this problem could be caused by cold weather. no recalls are noted on nhtsa's website. the dodge journey handbook is very vague on what action should be taken if the etc sensor appears for a short time but then disappears after key cycling is complete. | |||

| 2009 dodge journey. i had to replace the rear brake pads at 18201 miles. this is ridiculous since i also had to replace the front brake pads and rotors at 16301 miles. fortunately, i just got a letter stating i will get reimbursed for the front brake job. i wish they would also send me a letter telling me they will reimburse me for the rear brake job. | |||

| My airbag light and throttle light were on as well as the engine light. i contacted service repair department, md where i purchase the vehicle. 2009 dodge journey. i was advised this was due to a recall repair that needed to take place. to bring the car in (march, 2011) after the first repair - the airbag light went out - but the engine light and the throttle light stayed on. i was told the repair would be covered by warranty and possibly was connected with the recall. it has been seven (7) times going back and forth to get this repair. at the time of this writing - my journey is back with them again. not only have i had to take time off from work to bring the car in to them. it has been an inconvenience going back and forth. apparently, after the 2nd time - someone doesn't know what they are doing. i am currently working with the service manager, and the original service associate and still had to take the vehcile back. there is a lack of genuine customer service and some service partners do not know how to stay calm when dealing with a situation like this. i feel i have been taken for granted and i it has been a tremendous inconvenience in adjusting our work, vacation and travel schedules. they have finally given us a rental after 7 times and told us that they purchased a brand new computer system to help fix the situation. it sounds far fetch that a brand new computer system would be purchased to fix one vehicle. we feel like we are being lied to and want the vehicle replaced. we ride our family (including grandchildren) in this vehicle from time to time and want to be safe. march to june 2011 is entirely too long for the same exact repair to be worked on. | |||

| After raining the passenger side rear door fills with water. when i close the door i hear the water swish around inside and then i see it drain out of the bottom of the door. this is the 4th time that i have seen this happen in as many weeks. my wife has also noticed the exact same thing before i did. the door fills with water pretty much every time it rains. it seems like it is at least filling up with several cups of water. i am concerned with mold getting into the car and also the probability of an electrical short. this happens every single time it rains. in addition to the door filling with water the low tire pressure light keeps coming on and the rear left tire will slowly deflate. i have already had the tire replaced once and the same thing happened again in a matter of weeks. outside air temperature seems to have no effect on when this occurs because it happen during the cold and when it is hot out. usually the low tire pressure warning will come on within one week of filling the tire. | |||

| Inaug 2010, i had the brake pads changed barely a year after buying the car. the next month i had to have new rotors because they warped. a month later they were warped again, couldn't get them changed until mar 7, 2011. exactly 30 days later they were warped again. just had them and the brake pads replaced on may 8, 2011. | |||

| Car starts shaking at 70mph on highway, find out the brake pads are warped and need to replaced. this is second time in less than 12,000 miles. there needs to be a recall on chrysler brakes and their parts. the cost of having to keep replacing rotors,calipers,brake pads is too much for faulty parts. | |||

| I purchased a 2009 dodge journey in august of 2008. i have had repeated problems with rotor and brake wear. the rotors have been replaced twice and all 4 brakes have been replaced twice with the front being replaced 3 times. tje first of which occured just past 12,000 miles. this is when brake and rotor wear warranty ends. i have also had signifigant problems with the wiring senser module, resulting in stability control and anti-lock brake light to come one. i also have power ports in the vehicle that do not work as well as a lift gate that does not lock. i currently have 48,000 miles on the vehicle and now have issues with leaking. i am unsure how water is entering the vehicle, possibly thru the air conditioning drainage system. the entire drivers side floor boards are wet as well as the built in cooler behind the drivers seat being completely filled with water within several days of emptying. this occurs when it is not raining or wet outside. i now have mold issues in the vehicle. myself and my children have signifigant allergies and asthma. this vehicle is unsafe to drive. the electrical problems resulting in air bag failure are definatly scary. | |||

| Purchase a dodge journey 2009. i inform the dealer that the windows were not coming down as they should. didn't get fixed. the keyless remote was suppose to be with the car it wasn't, they installed a after market keyless remote, don't work correct. the brakes were sweaking and could hear air within the car when applying brakes. i was told that theres nothing wrong and it was normal. it has been 4 to 5 months later now its not starting . contact chrsyler llc , told me i had to have it towed to a dealer , get diagnoise , get it fixed and i have to pay for it all and they will remiburse half for the part , labor is all on me. the vehicle has done this no start problem 3 times in 2 and half days. also notice that the steering column gets hot for some unforseen reason . inform the dealer i purchase my journey from , i was told that is normal. still have the journey can't trade in back because i have no money , so i am stuck with it . having it towed to dealer to get problem looked at and all expense is on me. what do i do . i think chrsyler will not repay me. i have to borrow money to get this done becasue this is my only transportation. i am scared that i might have a electrical fire while driving and will not notice it until it too late. what do i do. please help in richmond va. | |||

| 2009 dodge journey - had a complete brake replacement (rotors turned, pads replaced) at 25000 (february 2010) and now at 53000 we have been told all rotors need to be replace, the front right rotor is cracked, all break pads need to be replaced. called chrysler tonight 12/27/2010 at 7:05 pm and they no reports of problems with the dodge journeys and brake/rotor problems. they advised us to get the vehicle repaired at a chrysler dealership and have them send it in to corporate. they may pay for the replacement - they have not paid for anyones replacements nor have they issued a recall. this is my second lemon from chrysler/dodge the first was a chrysler 300 when the front end would not stay in alignment. please do something about this corporation. lots of americans are being victimized by the car companies. this absolutely must be stopped. | |||

| Brakes and rotors fail prematurely on dodge journey. i've had to replace the brakes and rotors three times now in the past 12 months. the rotors warp causing the vehicle to shake. i don't think that the brake system that dodge put in these cars functions correctly. | |||

| The kuhmo tires on the 2009 dodge journey were shredding apart and showing the steel tread. kuhmo is not currently making a tire to replace it and they are back ordered until may of 2011. | |||

| I own a 2009 dodge jorney with 78,000 miles the car has been great. at 60k miles i needed to purchase new tires, the car has kuhmo 205 55 r19 tires, kuhmo is the only maker of this size tire, and the tires are on back order indefinatey!!! i was told by dodge that they were sorry but they could give me a years worth of oil changes for free? great free oil changes for a car i cant drive? | |||

| I purchased my 2009 dodge journey in june 2009. the brakes started to make a grumbling noise when i stepped on the brake. i had only 11950 miles on the car. it was 3/2010. i took it to the dealer and they said it was the brakes and wanted me to pay for the repair. i tild them it was still under the 12k warranty, so they did it free of charge. i took it home and it was still doing the same thing. i took it back the next day and asked them to please have the technician drive the vehicle to determine what was wrong. i was 3 miles away from the 12k mile warranty expiring. this time they replaced the rotors. now it is 9/20/10, and the vehicle is at 21100k. it started to make the same grumbling noise and when i took it to the dealer, they had to replace all 4 rotors. three days later i had to take the vehicle back because when i go over 60 mph it starts to vibrate and feels like i have a flat tire. i took it to the dealer ad they rotated and balanced the tires. when i got on the interstate, it is still doing the same thing. i emailed chrysler 2 times and have spoken to them twice. i no longer trust this car. i am afraid everytime i get in the car to drive it, i am putting my life in jeopardy. i know i will have to continue replacing the rotors every few thousand miles | |||

| I drive the dodge journey for 13 months from new. the car has now 32500 miles on it. i had to replace brakes - pads and rotors three times. recently i found out that the rear tires are also worn - the lower part of the inside wall on both tires is worn not evenly? the local dealer, supported by dodge officials, claims this is normal wear and tear for this car, shirking the manufacturer's responsibility. | |||

| 2009 dodge journey suv breaks and rotors premature wear, leaking roof, and more... breaks and rotors on the car had to be replaced twice on the front at less than 34,000 miles and once on the back at less than 39, 000 miles; this is a serious problem with this make & model and can cause some one there life. there are numerous complaints about this and they are not being accountable. chrysler-dodge needs to be held accountable for this and make the recall on the 2009 dodge journey and stop blaming this problem on the people who purchased it. | |||

| Ihave a 2009 dodge journey. i have not had any injuries associated with the issue, however feel as though there is the possiblity for injury to ocur. the car is 2 years old and already the rotars have been diagnosed as being warped 3 times, one of which the car had only been driven 6000 miles since the warpage and then warped again. completely unacceptable. there is also a problem with the suspension. due to the fact that all this is ocurring, i feel as though this could lead to major safety issues. | |||
