| There are no injuries or fatalities associated with this alleged defect.while conducting this investigation, odi found that the subject cinches meet the load bearing requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard 208, and that many of the reported failures were due to incorrect child safety seat installations. additionally, the report rate is low (1.60/100k).the information available fails to establish the existence of a defect trend at this time.further allocation of agency resources to this issue is unwarranted and the preliminary evaluation is being closed. | ||||||

| The driver and passenger seats do not lock so if someone is sitting in the back of the car and pushes on the driver or passenger seat then they can be pushed foward. so if i were to get into a car acciedent with people in the backseat and they push on the seat the driver and passenger will be pushed into the dash board. the seat belts for the driver and passengers will lock up at random times when driving and will not lock up when the driver slams on the brakes. the paint is peeling on the roof of the car and the top door panels on both the left and right side of the car. every time i wash my car more and more paint peels off the main areas and smaller areas form.*ak | |||

| Driving at 35 mph, a pickup truck pulled out in front of and i crashed into the drivers side door. upon impact, the airbags did not deploy, the seat belt did not restrain me from slamming forward, and the seat lock did not engage. the chrysler investigator claims that all three restraint systems worked properly yet the dealer replaced both the seat belts and the seat locks.*ak | |||

| None of my vehicles have latch supported systems although all my carseats do. is it still safe to use a carseat with just a seat belt? can the vehicle manufacturers install the latch systems in my vehicles for free as this is a safety requirement for carseats? i cannot afford to pay for this myself or get a new vehicle.
