The engine of my vehicle has a bad vibration between 1000-1500 rpm. the dealer has replaced the following components after three seperate visits: fan clutch, torque converter, flex plate, harmonic balancer, transmission mount to crossmember, and changed the entire exhaust system to a 1997 version. i filed a lemon law claim with the manufacturer, however they now state it is a normal problem. a motor vibration will cause the engine to fail prematurely ie; broken crankshaft, or other internal components rendering the vehicle unsafe to operate and undrivable. the problem occurs when driving, in neutral, and park. repairs attempted by the dealer have not corrected the problem. *ak

The accident occured august 23, 2001. the truck was brought to autoplex 2000 in beaumont, tx. the front passenger side of the truck was hit. the estimated damages came to be around $8,900.00. when the truck was fixed and my husband was to go and pick it up, we recieved a call that the gate in the service department had hit my driver side door. well in order for them to fix the door, they had to take off the heated mirror. since that was done and we got the truck back, we could no longer use the heated mirrors, heater, or the airconditioning. we had to take the fuse out because the switch would stay on. the fuse would not blow out it would just stay on. well, with the switch staying on the wiring in the dash would catch fire. so we had nothing. the problem with the front end is that the tires on the right, and left side are being cut into. this was not accuring before the accident. we put two sets of new tires on the truck in the process of trying to get the truck back in the shop to be fixed. we were told that we had put to big of a tire on the truck, that, that was the cause for the tires being cut. but we still had our window sticker from when we bought the truck and showed them that with the options package on the truck that size of tire is what came on the truck. everything that is wrong with the truck now is still things that didn't get checked and fixed from the accident. they are saying it isn't accident related. i have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. i do not feel safe driving this vehicle. my husband and i went and bought another truck for that reason. our only means of transportation and not feeling safe driving it was a problem. they say that they can't find anything wrong with the truck. but apparently there is for the tires to be getting cut. and with it being the same size tire that came on the truck. thank you, melissa estes. *ak

 (1) tire pressure - unable to attain a service ticket (2) replace front tire - faulty side wall - unable to attain a service ticket (3) check alignment, steering wheel off center. unknown as to what was done - did get a service ticket. for some reason they where looking for tire shimmy at about 30 mph. at a later date i was discussing this shimmy repair with service tech ron jacobs. he informed me that he did that service ticket, and he could not find a shimmy problem while road testing the truck, but did notice that the steering was off. (4) i called ron thomson (owner of thompson dodge) to talk about what was going on and explained the problem in detail. i took the truck back in for service once again and picked it up later that evening. i spoke to ron jacobs about the repair and i was assured that the truck was thoroughly looked over and that an alignment was performed. while driving the truck home i immediately noticed that the problem was worse than before. i placed a call to your customer center the next day to see if i could take the vehicle to another dealer for service on this same problem, and i was informed that i could seek service at another dealer.(5)i made an appointment at timonium dodge located at 10300 york rd, cockeysville, md 21030. i dropped truck off in the morning and picked it up at noon. a front end alignment was performed and upon driving the truck home i did notice slight improvement. as time progressed the steering problem came back.(6) i took it to timonium dodge again for the same problem and that the tires were starting to show unusual wear. again, the truck was realigned. it was noted on service ticket that (toe out slightly road test - still pulls slightly - cross rotate front tires - road test. and of course, driving home with the same problem slightly improved at this time. *ak

SUSPENSION - FRONT - CONTROL ARM
10/23/2002100000111/10/1999
I own a 2000 dodge ram 1500, 2 wheel drive. as i looked through your site i found a recall on the suspension of the right control arm. about 1 year ago the truck the truck needed tie rod ends according to the dealership. a loud squeaking was to be fixed by the tie rod ends. once in the shop i received a call saying that the right control arm had a bad bushing and to replace the rubber bushing i needed to replace the whole control arm. no one person could tell me why. according to your recall, my bad tie rod ends, shocks, and control arm are a result of a bad axle. the dealership claims this all happened from the control going bad. the truck had only 100,000 miles at the time, this cost me 1,500.00. the truck is now starting to have the same noises as a year ago. could this be the recurring problem, should i just keep replacing the right side control arm. my truck is all road miles,no four wheeling, no towing, no accidents. what you have pointed out i feel is more prevalent than 76 vehicles. i contacted the dealership, they stated there is no recall of this kind for my truck, then why is it with you people and why is it exactly as you have stated. i feel you are right,i feel there is a problem, i also feel putting on new control arms does not fix the problem which i feel is returning and i fear another 1,500.00 bill is on it's way. please help! *la

Noticed reduced directional stability, braking degradation and vehicle pulled under braking conditions. this lead me to take vehicle in for service. while on the vehicle rack it was discovered that both lower control arms had cracked in the exact same location on both sides. additionally, cracks were discovered due to what appeared to be poor welds on the front axle. on 01-16-2006, i authorized the following work to be done at my own expense: 1) replacement of cracked lower control arms and welding of the cracked front axle recall 00v007000). replacement control arms were reinforced in the area that failed on both stock oem control arms. the replacement arms where almost twice as heavy as the originals. with this information, i contacted dodge daimler/chrysler to explain the situation and requested a reimbursement for the parts replaced. chrysler denied the request and said that there were no recalls on the vehicle for the above listed issues. all repair work has been completed and i have the original lower control arms available upon request. pictures of the both parts are also available upon request.*ak
