| 2002 dodge ram 1500 dashboard started crumbling to pieces after only 3 years. dodge dealer told us it was not covered under warranty. we would have to replace the dashboard at our own expense. the dealer even told us this was a common complaint from dodge truck owners. | |||

| I have a 2002 dodge pickup with a cracked dash.i had to replace the heater core and when the dash was removed i noticed cracks all in the dash.while removing the dash i and my helper both sustained severe cuts from very sharp edges of the broken dash.this prompted me to file this complaint because of the nature and shape of the cracks can cause severe injury or even death to occupants,especially children,in the event of a crash as well as cuts and abrasions when simply entering and exiting the vehicle. | |||

| I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 and may dashboard had one crack 2 years ago. since then multiple cracks have appeared all along the dash. may concern is the dash will fall completely apart or a piece will come loose and hit someone. thanks. | |||

| The dash in my 2002 dodge ram 1500 is cracking and falling apart (defective plastic)and dodge/chrysler will not stand behind it's product. the air bag is right below & connected to the plastic that has cracked. i am worried that if the air bag is deployed that this plastic (which is very sharp pieces) will be very dangerous to anyone in the vehicle.i also pick up my grandchildren every day from school and the dash on my truck has broken in so many places that it is now falling apart and huge pieces falling out.this plastic is very sharp and could slice open anyone around it. i have always kept my truck parked in a garage since i have owned it(2002)-so the sun is not the problem-it is a defective product that was installed on my vehicle when built. i have contacted my dealership twice and they tell me that there is nothing they will do about it. | |||

| The 2002 dodge ram 1500 slt was bought in 2006. 2 months later, the rear end had to be replaced. no warranty. (2000.00 out of pocket). six months later, the front end went out. (2083.00 out of pocket). no more problems until 6 months ago. had to replace all wheel bearings and brakes ( 1500.00 out of pocket) now, my mechanic says that the brakes and front suspension has to be replaced(another 2300.00 out of pocket) this truck has never been taken off-road. it has been very well taken care of. dodge has been notified,no response. how can they expect us to keep buying their vehicles, when they can't or won't tell us what is going on? i have not received a recall for any of the things that have happened. *tr | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2002 dodge ram 1500. in warm weather conditions, the air conditioner system becomes inoperative. also, in cold weather conditions, the defroster does not work properly. the failure causes impaired visibility in inclement weather and could result in a crash. the dealer stated that the vin was excluded from nhtsa campaign id number 03v078000 (steering:column). the contact would have to install a wiring harness overlay at the cost of $800. the vehicle has not been repaired. the manufacturer referred him to the dealer. the failure mileage was 71,000 and current mileage was 88,000. | |||

| The jack that is shipped with the dodge ram 1500 is way too small to handle the parge truck. i had to change a tire today for the first time. the vehicle fell off of the jack twice. the jack is a small cylinder type, with a small footprint. while jacking the rear wheel according to the instructions in the user manual, the jack slips easily because a) it has a small footprint that remains in contact with the ground, and b) the extentions used to turn the cranking mechanism on the jack are wobbly, which can cause the jack to move while raising and lowering. i researched this with several other dodge ram owners, each who have purchased separate heavy duty jacks to allocate for the insufficient standard jack that ships with the vehicle. i contact daimlerchrysler today about this issue. *ak | |||
