| When i slow down, and specifically turn the wheel in either direction, my dodge will randomly stall. the radio will stay on and the only way i know the truck has stalleld is because i am not going anywhere. once i put it in neutral it starts right up and takes off. this is extrememely dangerous and has almost caused accidents. took it to my local dodge dealership and they have no clue what it could be as they were unable to duplicate the problem. | |||

| I like many others have a problem with my dodge 1500 stalling after accelerating or while turning. i bought the truck 2 1/2 years ago with 34000 miles on it and it started doing it right away...probably why the previous owner got rid of it :) yesterday, it left me alongside the road in a terrible rain storm on my way to pick my son up from school. i have taken this 2005 dodge 1500 out on the air force base for hunting and when we came back to the check station (very rough roads-washboards, potholes, deepsand, etc) my engine was revving up and down. when i got onto the interstate to come home the cruise would not engage, i opened the hood and pressed on all the injector and plug wires and the truck ran smooth and the cruise started working again. things were fine for a few weeks but then it started stalling/cutting out again. i pressed on the wires and things were fine again. now yesterday, it stalled coming into a turn. i put it in neutral and it started back up. i went through two stop signs with no problems but when i got up to speed and went about 1 | |||

| The truck will idle then rev up, idle then rev up upon a cold start. engine loses power during low speed turns and sometimes upon slowing to a stop. when engine power is lost, there is no power steering or brakes and can very easily cause a crash. | |||

| I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 with a 4.7 liter v-8. the problem like many others have had is that the truck will rev up and down at idle and slow speed. after the truck stalled, almost getting me in a sever crash at an intersection while towing my boat, i took it to the dealer. they said the egr valve was bad and replaced it. this worked for about a year now the problem is back. | |||

| My dodge ram 1500 truck with a 4.7 engine has stalled a couple of time right after i start for the first time in a day and drive to a stop sometime very soon after i start it. the engine has a dip in rpms, and then tries to lurch forward when i'm on the brake, and then stalls. i start it back up and it's fine. it's happened about 5-10 times since i bought it back in april 05. the dealer had no clue what was wrong, they tried keeping it for a week and weren't able to reproduce the problem. *tr | |||

| Vehicle stalls suddenly while traveling, with no warning, the engine light doesn't come on or anything. you have to stop and put it in park to restart (tried to restart in neutral-doesn't work). when it shuts off, there is no power steering or brakes, but luckily it usually starts up fairly quickly because it is very scary when you are on the highway. have taken it to the dodge dealership twice and they said they have no idea what it is. *tr | |||

| I am having a few problems with my truck for the past year. 1) my truck will stall out or have a dip in the rpm's when stopping at a stop sign or stop light. 2) the big problem i have happens once every 1-2 months. i will be driving my truck and all of a sudden the check engine light will flash and the truck has no power at all. the gas pedal will be on the floor and the truck will have no response. the thing that i am worried about is if this problem happens on the freeway and i get into a big car accident. i brought the truck into 2 different dodge dealerships and they both said the same thing. whatever is happening isn't being copied to the computer and while our mechanics took it out for a test drive the problem didn't happen. they said the only way they would be able to diagnose the problem is if it happened while they drove it. so they couldn't do anything fix the problem. *tr | |||

| I have a 05 dodge ram 1500 that stalls when slowing down to stop or take corners. when it stalls you loss power steering which has cuased me to almost be in mulitple accidents going around corners. this is a major issue and muliple people and model years have had the same issue. | |||

| When the truck is at a lower idle speed like 5 or 10 mph such as at a stoplight or stop sign, it will stall. this happens about once or twice a week pretty regularly. another way it will stall is getting onto the freeway at about 30 to 40 mph the truck will stall and just shut off. the power steering shuts off along with the interior lights and radio. this forces the driver to have to pull over on the freeway and can really cause an accident. this has happened to me three times in the last 3 years. i changed the egr valve and that was supposed to fix the problem but even with no codes or engine light on, it is still stalling at stoplights and low rpm situations. the local dodge dealership cannot find anything wrong since there is no codes coming up. also reading the problem on websites such as carcompaints.com, it seems this problem is alot more common than i ever thought and suprised it has not been a recall yet. | |||

| My dodge ram 1500 with a hemi engine has stalled numerous times while slowing down to make a turn at an intersection. when the engine drops down to about 1200 rpm, it just quits without warning, killing the power brakes and power steering mechanism in manual. this truck is over 6000 pounds, adrift, half way through an intersection. twice i have nearly run over a small vehicle stopped at the intersection. yesterday i went off the road. someone will be hurt in one of these instances. i have read numerous posts on this engine problem. dodge needs to recall this truck and fix this problem. *tr | |||

| Engine stalling: initially it started off as a shutter when the vehicle turned. this was reported but consequently no action was taken because the mechanic could not feel it for himself. several complaints later, the mechanic finally felt it and ordered a part(throttle body). that was done but the problem still remained. a little after the part was replaced, the engine started to stall when we would turn. reported that to the dealer but again, nothing was done because the mechanic said the vehicle was fine. now, they ordered a power steering pump that was finally replaced after going in several times and it coming in defective (time ended up being several months). the power steering pump has now been replaced but the engine is having trouble starting (takes about 5-6 attempts) and is stalling now more than ever. it stalls after we turn while driving at a speed no more than 20mph. now our warranty is over as a consequence and dodge is not wanting to fix the problem even though we reported this prior to our warranty expiring. *tr | |||

| The truck just stalls out occasionally when you're going around a corner in city traffic (around 15mph). the truck loses power steering and brakes. its really hard to steer a vehicle that big without when it stalls out and my wife was lucky to not get hit from behind or crash into another vehicle. the dealer has replaced the egr valve twice and replaced the ecm, once in 2007 and then this year. hopefully, this will fix the issue permanently, but i have my doubts. *tr | |||

| Continuing issue with egr valve, after about 5 minutes of research i can see this is a wide spread issue. also, after discussing with several mechanics this is a not a valve that should go out in the first four years. truck idles rough and stalls at slow speeds, valve is evidently faulty or other piece of system, whether that's solenoid, fuse, electrical connection, sensor is faulty. cannot believe after reviewing that there is not a recall on this valve. also, very difficult to find particular part in-stock at any parts stores. *tr | |||

| On going problem with dodge ram 1500 trucks. they contain a faulty exhaust gas recirculation (egr) valve. the sensor causes trucks to stall out when driving at slower speeds under 40 mph. with loss of power loose power steering and power brakes. i would also imagine affects exhaust emissions as gas mileage severely drops when egr valve is going out. trucks engine malfunction indicator light usually comes on. if you go to dealership will charge you $175 to tell you why indicator light came on. if you turn the key on-accessory, on-accessory, on-accessory and finally on rapidly, will show you error code on odometer for free. usually will get a p0404, p0405 or p0406 code which is the egr valve out or on its way out. if you search the internet you will see hundreds of postings with ones regarding vehicles stalling out. something needs to be done before some unlucky person is involved in a collision due to loss of power. *tr | |||
