This is the tenth time my truck has stalled out since i have owned it. there is no warning, errors or codes. it has taken place while driving, turning at low speeds and while stopped. most recently was today in which i was almost rear ended and a victim of road rage by the other driver. the truck does start again, but it takes a few minutes. the truck will then run fine for a while and then it occurs again. weather and road conditions do not have a factor in this. ii have noticed that this is a common problem with many dodge owners. this is a severe safety issue. i have been to the dealer and they have found no issues. all of the maintenance is up to date and beyond. i have all documents to prove the above mentioned. dodge has replied by stating that the vehicle is out of warranty. there has to be an answer to this. this is a life safety issue. please look into this.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. while driving approximately 10 mph, the engine and hazardous warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. the entire vehicle began to shake violently with a loud banging noise emitting from the engine. the vehicle was towed to an independent auto shop who informed the cylinder head was completely damaged. the technician recommended the vehicle be diagnosed by an authorized dealer. the vehicle was then towed to the dealer who inspected the engine and stated that the intake valve and cylinder head were defective which caused internal damage to the engine. the vehicle had not been repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 78,000. js

I was driving on interstate 90 when my truck suddenly shut down for no reason. no check engine lights, just a total loss of power and the steering locked up. i was able to restart it by throwing it into neutral, but it would not restart in park. this has been happening off and on, and no mechanics can seem to figure it out since it doesn't happen all the time. i'm scared to drive it. i have been on dodgeforum.com, and there are many dodge models/years suffering this problem, but no recall has been issued. this is a major safety issue and i don't know what to do to get it fixed (nor do i have the money to keep taking it in again and again). it codes out as an electrical/computer issue of unknown origin that no one has yet been able to fix, despite replaced valves, relays, etc. *tr

Recently i was driving my 2006 dodge ram 1500 when suddenly while going over a bridge doing 60mph, the truck engine shuts down and the truck dash engine lights come on. immediately the truck loses its power steering and brakes. it was all i could to hold it to the road and i was headed into oncoming traffic. i barely escaped with my life and now to make matters worse the dealership told me that the engine had seized up and was ruined (not to mention the 36,000 miles warranty had just expired). the cost of a new motor $7,000 not counting labor. i would also like to add that this was the second dodge ram pick-up that did this same thing. i am filing a law-suit immediately and need help anywhere i can get it. the dealership states it will not cover the repair costs. the truck had 49,000 miles on it...ruined!!!.. *tr

At 26,000 miles the blend door for the air system broke (part # 68004226-ab). this caused the vents to be stuck in one position and could not get the defrost to work which became a safety issue since i could not defrost/defog the windshield. the part was replaced under warranty. i am now at 52,000 miles and the same part needs to be repaired again. this time out of warranty and at a cost of $740.

My recirculation door on my 2006 dodge ram 1500 broke the other night for no reason other then adjusting the ac controls. it seems that this seems to be a common problem caused by the recirculation door actuator putting to much torque on the plastic door. i only have 6,00 miles on the truck right now. *tr

I have two complaints. i will start with the serious one first. while driving my 2006 dodge ram truck down the interstate, it suddenly shut down. i had no power steering. this was a very dangerous situation trying to steer over to the emergency lane. once over i put the vehicle in park, and it started up, like nothing happen. this happen twice within 2years. i see that the same complaint was filed by another dodge owner(#10270010). im taking my truck to the dealer tomorrow to see what the problem is. the second complaint is the rear middle seat belt locks up and will not release. i see this is also a problem with other owners. complaint #'s 10248480, and 10237215. these problems, especially the first should put on a recall list. *tr

Tl*- the contact stated that while driving his 2001 dodge ram 1500 (56000 failure mileage) at 3 mph over a hole on a dirt road, the contact heard a rubbing sound as if the tire was rubbing against the fender. he stopped the vehicle to take a look and found the drive shaft rubbing against the side of the gas tank. the contact proceeded to drive over the hole then the rubbing noise stopped. the contact thinks there is a design flaw in his vehicle because it is a 4 wheel drive and should be able to drive over holes without rubbing against the gas tank.
