The turn signal on the vehicle began activating the wrong signal. at times the signal will not work at all. at other times it signals the opposite direction i am attempting to turn. the signal switch also controls my high beams and windshield wipers. both of these are also affected at times by the problem. i am very concerned anyone of these issues could cause a serious accident.

Driver's side turn signal intermittently does not work. started when brake pedal was pushed. works, then stops working when brakes are pushed and continues not to work after that. this is a safety issue and there are 100s if not 1,000s of people that have reported turn signal problems on the 2006 dodge ram. this is a saftey issue!! please make them fix this, because they obviously have no respect for their namebrand and don't care about their customers. check out this link http://vlane.com/discuss-topic/1336/2006-dodge-ram-turn-signal-problem.

My 2006 dodge ram pick up has had intermitent problems with the wiper blades coming on, or not, slowing down or speading up with out assistance from the operator. last week my turn signals started to act up. i turn the left signal on, it shows up inside and out as a right turn, or nothing at all. my emergency flashers are not working either. i had to turn them on and only the right blinker came on, then everything shut down. i can not count on making a lane change safely, i can not count on my wipers working in the rain, and if i have an emergency stop, i can not use my emergency flashers.

My 2006 dodge ram 1500 had the turn signals fail. first when i told it to turn right, it blinked left. then it stopped working. it rotates to whatever it wants randomly and usually shows an incorrect direction. i'm safer not using a turn signal than showing a left and going right. i can't use hand signals at night and most people don't understand why i'm putting my arm out the window anyway. this is a major safety issue on this vehicle. this occurs all the time now. it was intermittent (problematic for one trip) then it would fix itself for a few days. dodge dealer says they don't know what is wrong or never heard of it.

Turn signals operate sporadically. moving the turn signal stalk to signal a left turn can result in no flashing of the left turn signal but improper flashing of the right turn signal. likewise when moving the turn signal stalk to signal a right turn the signal will not flash or sometimes will incorrectly signal left. this improper signal appears at both the dashboard indicator light and at the exterior front and rear turn signal lighting positions. additionally the wiper blades have begun failing to operate when needed. when selecting an on position on the turn signal stalk the wipers will sometimes stutter across the windshield or sometimes no move at all. when the vehicle was under factory warranty the multifunction switch was replaced. this fixed the problem the first time. the vehicle is having the same problem again but is now out of warranty. factory repair claims it will be the same replacement at owner cost. the problems happen intermittently, and can not be reproduced at will. over time, however, they are happening more frequently.

I was attempting to make a left turn off the highway, and when i signalled for a left turn with the turn signal, the instrument cluster showed a signal for right turn. i pulled into the left turn lane, and the car which was behind me and continuing straight slowed down and refused to go by me, even though i was in the left turn lane and they had a clear path ahead. this indicated to me that the taillights were also indicating a right turn. there was no accident as a result of this, but the normal flow of traffic on the highway was disrupted. since this incident, i have watched closely and the multifunction switch has done the same thing several times intermittently. we live near a busy highway in the country, and often when someone is slowing down to make a right turn, the traffic behind will pass on the left. if someone is actually making a left turn, but the signal is showing right, this could lead to a fatal collision. i contacted chrysler, and they simply told me to get it fixed and hang onto the receipts in case there is a recall. i also found that 2006 dodge 3500 pickups did have an extended warranty on the multifunction switch for this reason.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 dodge ram 1500. the vehicle was experiencing two recurring failures. while driving at any speed the turn signals either would not function or the opposite turn signal from which he intended to turn on would illuminate. he also stated that when the high beams were engaged he turned them off and the windshield wiper fluid began to spray. the vehicle was not taken to be examined for the cause of failure and was not repaired. the failures continue to recur intermittently. the failure mileage was 22,000 and the current mileage was 25,000. the vin was unavailable. sm.

Purchased a new 2006 dodge quad cap at 33,000 miles the turn signal switch malfunctioned (if you signal to turn right the left signal would come on, and vise-versa, high beam would not turn off after getting it turned on, windshield wipers, would turn while signaling, and stop periodically during rain storms). the dealer replaced the faulty switch, and at 54,000 miles the switch malfunctioned again, and is doing same things.

Much like the ram 3500, the turn signal on my my 2006 ram 1500 began malfunctioning several months ago and continues to do so intermittantly. at times, the left turn signal turns on the right blinker; other times, the opposite happens - left turns on right. still other times, the multi-function switch does nothing at all. in response to similar complaints about the 3500, chrysler has voluntarily issued an extended warranty on this issue for the 2006 model year. they should do the same for 1500 models as well as this is a very distracting and an obviously serious potential safety hazard.

My husband has a 2006 dodge ram 1500. he is in iraq and only home every 4 months. i do not drive his truck except to the mail box and back once a week to keep the battery going. about 6 months ago the wipers did not want to work. it was not all the time. we thought maybe a glitch. then it was the blinkers. sometimes they would not come on at all and others the opposite blinker would come on. but since he is only home for 2 weeks and it would only hapen once or twice we didn't think about it. now the wipers will not come on at all and when you turn the left blinker on the right one comes on. i did not realize it until i was nearly hit by some one trying to pass me on my left while i was trying to make a left turn. i got online to see if there was already a recall for this and saw there are many people with this same complaint. the only tsb i can find is for the dodge ram 3500. also when driving over 50mph the truck will shake violently when you press the brakes. the harder you have to press the brakes the harder the truck shakes. we have replaced the brake pads, calipers, and had the rotors turned. this is costing too much money for maybes and it is scary when you are on the high way in rush hour traffic when this strarts happening.

I have an 2006 dodge megacab with only 40,000 miles since we hit 34,000 miles the turn signals work intermittently or not at all. recently my wife was on the freeway and activated the right turn signal indicator and the left blinker came on she was nearly hit by a fast approaching driver from behind. i contacted chrysler corp. and filed a complaint a rep called me and stated they would by happy to cover the cost of the part if it was deemed defective by and authorized tech i would however have to cover the service fees. i explained to her that our current financial situation would not allow this and in essence this was a defective part and the manufacturer should stand behind their product she gave me the impression that they were not concerned this was an issue or even a safety issue. i stated that the repercussions of such short sightedness could be fatal for some unfortunate chrysler product owners if this is not addressed immediately as i have noticed a growing number of online forum complaints regarding this very issue. all we ask is that this issue be addressed as a recall issue and repairs be completed satisfying customer requests to ensure a safer driving experience. here is my ref #1974126 in deference to my complaint to chrysler corp. *tr

There has be a number of occasions this has happened about probably 100 times but paid not much attention until this winter. the turn signal level is also used to turn on the wipers on the vehicle. the problem arises when the vehicle lights are turned on, the wipers are on, and the turn signal are turned on. for no reason the turn signal from the opposite side of the vehicle is the one that operates. normally when you are turning to the right the turn signal does not turn on and the left side signal turn on. in order to alleviate this problem i have to turn the wipers off completely. this causes a problem because this impairs visibility an also is giving other drivers the wrong signals. i have no idea what caused this issue but since i reside in the state of virginia it is a requirement that when it rains you must turn your lights and wipers this has caused me a problems since i depend on this vehicle and when it snows or rain i cannot operate the vehicle. i am taking the vehicle to the dodge dealer tomorrow to see what is the problem. i have not caused any accidents. some drivers had got aggravated since some times i give them the wrong turn signals. the incidents have occurred many times in the last 8 months and i have noted that is getting more frequent since we have got more snow and rain in the north east i whish i can provide specific dated but it has happened so many times that i got tired of it and i am taking the vehicle to the dealer tomorrow. i am putting today as the most current date. *tr

Turn signal malfunctions. when left turn is selected, sometimes right signal flasher comes on, sometimes no turn signal comes on, sometimes it works correctly. the problem is intermittent. when right turn signal is selected, right signal flasher works normally. the problem is very dangerous as i had someone pass me on the left while i was making a left turn because my right signal was on due to the malfunction. *tr

The turn signal switch will occasionally be faulty causing a hazard when turning or switching lanes. when signaling a left turn the right turn signal will come on and when signaling a right turn the signal does not work. i contacted the dealer and they were all out of the part and waiting for inventory to come in. *tr

I activated my left turn signal but noticed that my right turn signal indicator light was blinking. this problem nearly caused an accident. the problem occurs approximately 90% of the time (when using turn signal). also, my wipers have begun malfunctioning (turn signal and wiper switch located together on steering column). i do not know how to correct the problem (vehicle out of warranty). *tr

Multi-function turn signal/windshield wiper control handle on left side of steering wheel column. the defect was causing the turn signals to flash right to left when in the right turn position. i took it in for repair just a day or two after noticing the problem. the dealer service writer said there was a short in the switch and they replaced it. the vehicle was approximately two months out of warranty and my bill was approximately $300.00. i believe this to be a safety issue and would expect functioning equipment for more than three years/36000 miles. my vehicle had 35,000 miles on it at the time of repair. i was not offered the old part. *tr
