While traveling on interstate at ~ 65 mph, i hit a series of bumps that caused the front suspension to shake violently. this only subsided after slowing to < 35 mph and (fortunately) avoiding a crash. after doing some research, this is consistent with death wobble. i am amazed that there is not a recall regarding this issue. i had new ball joints and tie rod ends installed ~ 6 months ago.

Hi, well i begin as a guy who loves trucks we bought a dodge ram 06' 1500 mega cab heavy duty, now the mega cabs r 1500's on a 2500 hd chassis. my dodge ram started doing the death wobble about 1year ago give or take. i have replaced the pitman arm and the tie rods and no diffrence. i am begging to think this is a factory issue because i hear cases by the dozen on youtube and people do not seem to know what the issue is. my family & i have almost been in numerous accidents luckly god was watching over us. i recently got into a pretty horrible death wobble in my truck,it was so intense that my muffler ripped right off the truck. if chrysler is saying that is not a recall that we have fix it our selfs, well that's crap because obviously it looks like a defective part in my truck. my truck is dangerous to be driving like that and i hope this becomes a recall because its not just me it's a couple hundred, who knows now how many. thank you for your time.

There is a (tsb 02-001-07 rev. a) that calls out a shudder, braking, shimmer... blah blah blah... on level ground and certain speeds. my issue is not on level ground, my problem exist on decline of 7% when the brake is applied very slightly the front brakes or front suspension shudders, and shakes so violently that the entire truck and the steering wheel is out of control, if you grab to tight on the sterring wheel you may over correct your steering and eventually could cause you to overturn your vehicle. there is no excuse for this, i have had my rotors changed, brakes changed, tires balanced, and rotated but the problem still exists. i am telling you that this is a very dangerous situation for anyone to be in. i would love to take the owner of the dodge co. and his family for a ride. i will almost guarantee that something would get done about this issue. rotors should last for more than 6 months, but the truck is violently out of control and too danergous for me to allow my wife or other family members to drive this vehicle until it is fixed or i sell it. once i sell it i will not purchase another dodge product again, i am tired of wasting my time and money on this issue. i am tired of the dealerships giving me the run around and oh it;s your rotor are quote worped un-quote is how it is documented on my paperwork..

My 2006 ram 1500 2 wheel drive, big horn edition shakes while braking at approximately 70 mph until it slows to approximately 55 mph. noone can find the problem. the truck shakes so badly, it feels like the front end is going to shake off! i have replace all 4 tires, had wheels balanced, replaced all 4 rotors, brakes, calipers, inner and outer tierods, front wheel hubs, shocks and the truck still shakes so bad that im scared i will be thrown into oncoming traffic if i had to stop fast.... i cannot find the problem and no one, not even the dealer can find the cause! *tr

While driving my 2006 dodge 1500 megacab truck at 70 mph, the truck started shaking violently and out of control. i held it as straight as i could and applied the brakes. the shaking finally stopped at about 20 mph. this was especially dangerous, because it was in the fast lane of traffic during rush hour. i later read some forums on the internet that labeled this problem the death wobble. it appears, from the many experiences described on the forums, that this is a common problem with dodge. *tr

Had vehicle aligned due to the front end bouncing. tie rod was replaced and vehicle had a vibration and popping noise from the front end after that. today i took it to the shop and they said the wheel bearing is worn beyond safe conditions. my vin did not fall under the current recall but i seem to be having the same problem with my vehicle and my family has been put at risk with this vehicle problem. i have new parts being put on today which is going will be paid out of pocket again. i have driven with this vibration for some time now not even aware that it could possibly be under a recall. a fault this serious could cause death and injury to my family and someone else's. *tr

The vehicle has a vibration mainly between the speeds of 55 to 60 mph. however i have noticed the vibrations at other speeds as well. the vibration is significant enough to shake the vehicle occupants. the first visit to the service department i was told one wheel was found out of balance and the problem was remedied. on the way home the vibration was still present. i immediately called the service department and brought the vehicle back. the service manager rode with me and indeed acknowledged there was a problem. during this second visit it was determined all 4 tires were not within acceptable limits and replaced. (mind you the tires only had approximately 1600 miles.) after driving with the new tires for a few days the vibration still persists. i took the vehicle in for a third visit to the service department, however the service manager could not duplicate the problem and i was sent on my way with no attempted remedy. i have been researching the problem, and have found nearly 40 other consumers complaining of the same vibration on their 2006 dodge rams. they have also not had any success at fixing the problem after as many as five visits to their respective service departments. *nm

2006 dodge ram 1500. original recall nhtsa campaign number: 07v038000 suspension: front: wheel bearing in 2007, chrysler stated that recall work was completed on defective wheel bearing. on may 10, 2011 the wheel bearing failed again, due either to defective manufacturing or improper repair. this is a major safety concern that cou result in loss of vehicle control and crash. it did no good for chrysler to replace defective parts in a recall with another defective part that was going to fail. this defect should be considered another safety recall.

2006 dodge ram 1500 quad cab, i purchased and have had numerous problems from the start. the transmission engages in such a way as to cause my body to move forward then back, i took it back to the dealership on three occasions, they changed the fluid and put in two new filters, still same problem, i was told by the mechanic of 22 years that's the new transmission feature to keep it from wearing out, it only engages when you stomp on the gas??? 30000 miles started leaking black fluid at front wheel, took to dealership, said suspension was gone, part has been on back order since august 2008 it is now feb. 2009 and no expected arrival date of the part. my tires have worn out completely due to this issue, after continually calling the dealership and complaining they are installing an oem suspension part and will give me one free tire.. waahoo, what about the other 3? *tr

Bought 2006 dodge ram 1500 slt june 2006 100 miles on it on way home brakes pulled sharpley. glendale,ca dodge replaced brake rotors, pads, & calipers@500 miles, due to leaking...front end has been messed up since...vibrates at various speeds, so badly at times feels like front end is going to shake off...front right tire feels like it's warped at times, pulsing in brake pedal when braking, not always, have taken it in to dealer various times they claim nothing wrong...dealer replaced drive shaft last visit, 07/2007, with 20,000 miles...no change....additionally, transmission feels like it's slipping at times and at 60 mph, on level road, transmission feels like it's in to high of a gear, if i was driving a manuel i'd shift down at least 1 gear, at times the vehicle shakes with acceleration, the dealer states, you guessed it, there's no problem..i do not even like driving the truck on the fwy...finally, truck jumps whenever you hit a bump, suspension feels loose, like the shocks are blown, any uneven surface makes the truck unstable.. to say i am frustrated is an understatement!!! the incident dates are various i have been dealing with this for a year!!*jb

Brought vehicle home from dealer with heavy vibration at 65 mph. took vehicle to dealer, which couldn't balance tires, they sent them to a tire store. tires were balanced, vibration better but still there. took vehicle to another tire store where one tire was replaced and other 3 tires balanced again. vibration much better, but still notice slight shake and vibration starting at 57-60 mph. feels like a wobble, feel it in the seat and steering wheel. dealer says that tires can't be balanced beyond 55 mph. finding other instances of this on websites for 2006 rams. doesn't feel like road feel from tight suspension, feels like something is loose in wheel assembly or tires are still not perfect. could be driveshaft. *jb

On 2/21/2006, i purchased a 2006 dodge ram, 1500, 4x2. recently my truck encountered a front wheel bearing malfunction, when going around left hand curves i would hear a loud thumping noise. in doing some research on automobile recalls, i foung manf. compaign # g02 and nhtsa campaign # 07v038000 has recalled 2006 dodge ram pickup trucks for suspension; front; wheel bearing, the summary of the recall reads on certain p/u trucks, the front wheel bearings may have received an insufficent quantity oof grease during the manufacturing process, but only those that were built between 11/7/05 and 4/27/06, my truck was built on 10/1/05 (5 weeks prior to the recall.) currently, i have owned my truck for 46 mos. however it only has 21,800 miles, back on 9/10/08 i had taken it to the dealership account of frontend viberation, their determination was tie-rod ends and they replaced them under warranty.in contacting chrysler, they said they would replace the bearing if i would pay a $50.00 co-pay, which i did and they made the repairs. the dealership said that they could not tell if the malfunction was due to lack of grease account of the bearing being a sealed unit. i find it very odd that this malfunction has happeneedwith only this few miles and is not included in the recall, i am also wondering if any other dodge customers have had the same problem and also wondering if the recall should not include dates prior to and/or after the original recall dates. thank you for your time in this matter. *tr

I am curious to the concern that i should have about my 2006 dodge. i have had 3 recalls on my vehicle since its purchase. one for airbag issues, one for a seat belts, and the most recent one for ball bearing issues that could allow the front wheels to become loose and fall off of the vehicle. all of these are life changing events if they happen. how many recalls can one vehicle have?*ak

My truck was included in recall: nhtsa campaign id number : 07v038000 which states: remedy: dealers will replace the front hub and bearing units... however, when the dealership performed the recall (daimler chrysler recall no. g02) they listed no replacement parts related to wheel bearings, it appears they merely added more lube to the bearing housings. searching dodge's recall database for my vin now shows that recall completed. did nhtsa leave it to the dealers discretion to decide if they wanted to replace the front hub and bearing units vs. just put a bit more grease in them? or did nhtsa direct them to replace the hubs? *jb
