Throttle stuck when accelerating to enter freeway, aplyed brakes as pick-up accelerated for half to 1 mile before responding. problem repeated itself on other dates when passing, could regain control by putting foot behind pedal and pulling back. dealer replaced accelerator pedal for no charge.

Accelerator sticks to the floor if stepped on too quickly. multiple attempts to repair and diagnose the cause have failed. attempts to reproduce the problem at many dealerships has not helped because the sticking of the pedal is very difficult to reproduce when you want it to. nonetheless,it has occurred at least six times and has made it so my wife is scared to death of the vehicle. *tr

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL - ACCELERATOR PEDAL
08/17/20062000205/12/2006
If you apply hard pressure to the brake pedal, the pedal will travel almost to the floor going past the gas pedal. the gas and brake pedals are fairly close together and if your foot is off set on the brake pedal, your shoe will catch the gas pedal when pressing down on the brake pedal. this will cause the engine to speed up while you are trying to stop the vehicle. trying to stop the vehicle at the same time you are making it go faster, just isn't very good. *nm
